How does one fix this?

The valve goes down really easily and get stuck at the bottom. When I hold on to the valve cap and move it up and down, it does feel a little rough.

It’s oiled and I took apart the valve, cleaned the casing, but I can’t tell what it is. Tis a Jupiter.

How do I get students to not lay down in their spot on the floor.

We have K-2 at the end of the day so I get they are tired. Try to get up and have some movement as much as possible. But it’s still so much.

Or I ask one student to sit up and three more lay down. Even for 3rd grade in chairs they are laying on it or crouching on top of the seat.

Consequences don’t do anything.

Seating chart suggestions

My MS band grew a bit. Hooray. We’ve been doing three rows. I would love to use an aisle so I can move around more, but I don’t know if it’s possible unless we use really wide straight rows.

I don’t know where to put everybody that makes the most sense. I have 6 flutes, 3 clarinets, 1 BC, 3 alto, 1 tenor, 1 Bari sax. 2 horns. 8 trumpets (3 beginners), 4 trombone/baritone, 1 tuba

Any suggestions would be wonderful.

K-2 kids don’t seem to have a sense of wonder.

I’ve only been teaching for 6 years. I can’t tell if it’s just me.

A lot of them don’t follow rules at all. We go over them. Lots of classroom management things. But nothing seems to excite them. They won’t dance or sing. Even playing instruments barely holds some interest.

There’s a lot of “that’s not real” or sarcasm for everything. Which to me is crazy as a 6 year old.

Don’t know if it’s a screen time/tablet kid issues or just a management issue.

Help with cystic acne and white heads during humidity?

Prone to acne in general. If I keep taking my birth control it’s pretty much under control. Was hoping in my mid thirties I wouldn’t have pimples. Anyway.

When it’s even a little humid. Instant giant pimples. Cystic acne and white heads. Without fail. I wash my face twice a day and will try and rinse it off in the middle of the day if I can.

I use Alba face wash (exfoliating gel cleaner although I don’t get how it’s exfoliating), Thayers witch hazel toner. And Elta MD sunscreen during the day and curology moisturizer at night. Hero patches. And when it’s a monster I use tea tree oil.

I live in AZ so I get our humidity isn’t like others however even with “mild” humidity (to me it’s the worst). I don’t know how to help my stupid skin.

Band room organization help. How to not drown in random papers and lose everything I love.

I teach at a K-8. Start the day with band and then have K-4 music. There is no storage room so instruments are on shelves and percussion is in the back. It’s an okay space but sometimes have trouble with kids touching the percussion instruments.

I’m mainly having trouble of how to organize music, warm ups and extra copies for when they inevitably lose something. If they go look for something it ends up disorganized.
And then keeping track of my own notes and different sheets I want to work off of.

In total 3 band classes and 15 other classes that rotate every week. I have trouble keeping track of everything and assessments. I can’t figure out how to be more efficient.

I need a steady system. Any ideas are welcome.

Band Chair set up help in a K-8

I have band the first half of the day from 8th - 5th grade. Then 4-K music.

Middle school starts the day. Then going to 6th and 5th the classes get smaller but I’ve been having all classes put stands away but not chairs.

Depending on what we’re doing 4th may not have chairs and 3rd does and they put them away at the end of class.

My problem is how to have a great consistent set up every day. Ideally with aisles to walk around especially in band. But I find it’s hard for them to do it with no marker. When I do it at the beginning of class the chairs get moved around.

The little guys have Velcro sit spots they sit on. But I can’t have additional markers for the chairs because the kids will just peel them up. And I can’t really use the Velcro for chair markers because of the spacing.

Big Vitamin D deficiency

I got my blood drawn for lithium levels which I believe are normal. But my Vitamin D level is 8.5. The reference level says 30-100 for the appropriate range.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this experience. I’ve tried to look it up and I’m seeing mixed results on whether Lithium can decrease it.

I can’t find it on a recent past lab, but 4 years ago when I started lithium and was slightly low but not this bad.

I’m sure I don’t eat enough foods with Vitamin D. I’m not inside all the time but I try not to stand out in the sun for too long.

Tube light stuck - how do I get it out?

One of the prongs is out and when I line it up with the groove that you pull it through the second one is not coming out. I can’t tell what it’s caught on.

Is this mold on my broccoli sprouts or is this how it comes?

Fresh pack. The bottom has a weird fuzzy lining across the whole thing. Like a material. But the actual bottom of the sprouts look fuzzy.

Anybody on Concerta/Ritalin while on Lithium?

Things were going well. I’ve been on concerta for a 5 months or so and it’s been a lot better. Until this past week. I’m having anxiety I haven’t had in a while. Almost feels like how I did before I started taking lithium. Wondering if anyone else has had anxiety issues.

The only thing I can think of is the concerta. It’s summer so I’ve been stuck alone in the house for a month. Also went off my birth control for a couple weeks which may have set it off.

How to remove these light panels safely?

I removed one and it has like an 8” crack.

They’re flexible - I’m assuming plexiglass. When I bend it it’s really hard to get it out.

Froze while a man was passing. Hasn’t happened before. What could it be?

My dog only hesitates on walks when she sees a cat. She might whine or try and pull a little but we keep going fine.

We have passed a lot of people on our walks before and she will give them a look and maybe hesitates if they have a dog. But she froze when this guy was way down the street where I didn’t even see him. As he passed, she would not move and was watching him.

It was a young tall guy. But she’s not afraid of men. He was darker I don’t if that contributes to dog temperaments. He didn’t seem shady, just looked like he was in a walk or run. it was really late but it’s super hot here.

I just thought it was strange because she has never done that before. We’ll have to have a talk about how rude it is to stop and stare.

Any way to recycle these concentrate containers?

Some of them are just what seems to be hard plastic and other others like this look like glass on the bottom.

I have so many and I don’t want to throw them away.

How many water bottles do you think Amazon uses in a day for packaging?

I know. Don’t use Amazon. I made it so all my packages would deliver at the same time. Or so I thought. A few items were regular and then I had muffins and yogurt (not from Amazon Fresh)

My dry package and my muffins were delivered first. They used 4 water bottles for my muffins that don’t need to be refrigerated.

Then in an entirely separate delivery, they put my one yogurt with five water bottles. I feel like there has to be a better option, but we know Amazon doesn’t care.

I can’t imagine how many get used even in one day. And many people don’t recycle them.

Perhaps a stupid question but could someone be hiding under the Oval Office desk when he’s there?

I was just noticing today during his long conference where he fell asleep but also was able to talk for long periods of time.

His hands would go under the desk at some point and then he covers his right which could still be from the bruising. Could they be injecting him with something under the desk to keep him functional?

It’s an out there question but that’s where we are.

What is there to do for just me and my dog? I get bored easily.

I am not a hiker. Baby trails are okay and I don’t mind walking a lot. Nature is great but I feel like I would get bored. What could we do in the city?

Anyone combine concerta with bipolar meds?

I take lithium and lamotrigine for bipolar, depression, blah blah blah. It has helped me do things and I can concentrate more but nothing amazing. I’m noticing more irritability. And now that summer is here and I don’t have anything to do - I find myself feeling that same way I did before Concerta and can’t bring myself to do things.

My doctor doesn’t want to try adderall because of the other meds. I don’t want to try something that isn’t a stimulant because I know it helps. I’ve been on 36mg for about two months. I was hoping to find something that really works.

I’m in my 30’s and a few years ago I developed some raging skin allergy where I would get raised hives and they itch and burn. Now I’m on Allegra and allergy shots.

I’ve had a few of these spots before. Very rarely.

I had a pretty bad cold last week and I noticed as I am getting over it I have about 4 of these. They only turn white if I scratch them (1st picture). They’re not really itchy.

Could it just be me getting over the sickness (in general my skin is very itchy this week)? Or do I now I have to deal with eczema.

Yes I will be seeing a doctor in a couple months
