Build direction
Hey all 👋
I've been building up my Votann collection shame for a while now, but have been routinely distracted by my main AoS army + various Spearheads.
I want to get into 11th edition. My plan is to assemble + do some minimal airbrushing across my army to get the base colour theme down, aiming towards a 1k list then a 2k list, and I can do a proper paint job as and when.
In what order do you guys recommend I do this with my current box pile, and is there anything else I should pick up midway through (e.g. I think I need another HLF for 2k)?
Ideally I'd like to have a few different viable detachments to choose from, but honestly I have no clue.
I have:
Old combat patrol
New combat patrol
Defenders of the Ancestors Battleforce
Cthonian Prospect Battleforce
Maelstrom box

I am now the proud owner of over 100 Peperamis
Morrisons reduced them to 90p, down from 3 quid. Good until February 2027

Stencil test on cardboard container
I made a pair of stencils to create some Maersk containers as they are pretty common. Nothing revolutionary, I printed the logo twice on some thick paper, made a first version with the overall shape, and a second to add the star and the inside of the R and the A back.
I tried to stipple with a makeup sponge, straight up doesn't work. I then stippled lightly with army painter master drybrushes, and there is surprisingly very little to clean up. I'll weather it all afterwards so the text will get some damages to blend in.
What do you think?

City of Ash Terrain & Relics
Got my terrain and relics painted up! (just need to put the decals on)
My brother and I played our first game of Spearhead this week and it was fantastic, though took us a few hours as we've only played OPR before!
Fyreslayers vs Seraphon. I won with my short kings, of course.
Is it worth getting the Sand & Bone box? Is it a different enough experience, or am I succumbing to plastic greed?
