Hot take

I never understood the codependency allegations. I myself am a bit of a clingy person but I can’t recall anything straight up codependent from Nick and Charlie. The argument I imagine people use is they hangout a lot but that’s not unusual for high schoolers to me. I wouldn’t say either of them is unable to function with the other. Clearly there’s something going on with it since the writers felt the need to touch on it with the movie but in my eyes they’ve always had a pretty normal high school relationship. What do you guys think?

Were we robbed of a Harry arch?

In season 2 we see the rugby team get more character development especially on the Paris trip. Even Harry seemed to be softening as he stands up for Imogene after Ben tried to embarrass her at dinner. It’s been years since I’ve watched the series and I honestly thought he wanna gonna fully chill out and become something of an ally for Nick and Charlie’s friend group. Obviously that did not happen but I have to admit I would’ve loved to see this. Then again Charlie slamming the door in his face was satisfying as well. But what do you guys think? Was Harry able to be redeemed?

Anyone else’s straight friends get touchy?

My best friend and I have been through a lot together. I don’t let just anyone touch me but I never minded him even when we first met. We love partying together and when he’s drunk he will sometimes touch my ass or grab my waist or even hold hands with me. He’ll flirt with me when he’s sober too and I know it’s not uncommon for straight guys to flirt with their friends and I might just have a thing for him but I was wondering if this seemed a little far for you guys?

What was it like to date someone that’s past partner died?

I’ve always just kind of wondered what this experience was like. Say you’re dating someone that had a partner that died while they were still together. Were there specific things abt that trauma that you both had to work through? How did it differ from other relationships you’ve been in? Overall what was the experience like?

How can I get the comments to stop

The past several months my Ana has been getting worse and I basically only eat in private now. More and more people have been offering me food/ noticing me not eating. My roommate and I went to get ice cream today and he kept gently asking me to finish mine. I also used to be a pretty athletic guy and people are starting to notice I’m getting smaller and commenting on it. I know it’s all genuine concern but I do want it to stop but I don’t know how to get people to stop without asking. I know I should be more focused on recovering than what people have to say but it feels important.

Does Ariana have an obligation?

Like everyone else I’ve been watching Ariana over the past two years clearly going through something. While it’s nice to see people do recognize when people need help I wanted to share my perspective as I was in a similar position last year. I’m an actor/ singer and to make a long story short I basically had to confess to having anorexia to a bunch of people at once. While some good did come of this I was humiliated. I was horrified that if directors knew they wouldn’t trust me enough to cast me. I was scared other actors would talk behind my back about it. Worst of all I was terrified that somehow admitting to chronically starving would inspire other to do the same. Although i was largely pressured to do this I still have moments where I wished I’d silently gotten help. Seeing people demand Ariana admit she has an ED and even worse villainizing her for having one always looks like my worst nightmare. It makes me wonder how do we have these conversations as respectfully as possible? Do performers have an obligation to be fully transparent about their bodies and EDs?

Do Charlie’s parents not like Nick?

I’m on my first rewatch and I remember not liking Charlie’s parents because I thought they were kind of always in a bad mood. But after getting through season 1 they actually seemed pretty kind and supportive to Charlie until he started dating Nick. It was like a switch flipped and they immediately started laying down rules for them and just in general seemed pretty unenthusiastic abt it. Right now I’m at the part where Charlie’s grades are going down bc he and Nick were hanging out so much so they specifically banned him from seeing Nick until he gets them back up. They also found out Nick is going on the Paris trip and we’re pissy about that too. I would think they would be a little more happy for him after all he went through with the bullying. Has anyone else noticed this?

I cannot stop laughing

I just started my first rewatch of heartstopper (which is totally the cure for depression and internalize homophobia btw) and the second episode is so funny when you know what happens in later seasons. I was at the part where Tao says Nick has a crush on Tara and I screamed laughing. At the end of this same episode there’s a scene that supposed to be really dramatic of Nick googling to find out if he’s gay. He ends up taking the am I gay quiz and gets a 62% and he starts crying and I know it’s supposed to be serious but Jesus I cannot hold it together and it’s genuinely bringing me out of a depression.

Question about range expansion

I’m a bass baritone and I’m finally getting to a point where I love my voice. I love my low notes and am no longer chasing being a tenor. However I am a musical theater actor and singing tenor has become a damn near necessity I’ve accepted I need to learn. I’ve been working on expanding my range for a while now and I’m finally starting to see my mix take shape. I know that in theory you can train your voice to sing as high as you want but I was wondering if you can change where certain notes sit in your voice? For example if b4 sits in my falsetto would I be able to belt or mix it with enough training?

We were robbed

My favorite part of Bojack’s rehab arc is when he’s arguing with the therapy horse and admits he has some kind of internalized resentment to other horses. It gets touched on very briefly later but I wish the writers explored this I think we could’ve gotten a lot out of it.

What does internalized homophobia look like?

I was talking to a friend recently who’s gay and I was telling him I’ve lost my romantic attraction to men over the years and I really only hook up with them now. He said that sounded like internalize homophobia. I never considered this bc I don’t repress my sexuality at all. When I first realized I was bi I came out to all my friends pretty immediately and I’ve been so happy and vocal about it ever since. My parents weren’t thrilled but I got over it and we haven’t discussed it much since but I think they’ve accepted it. I’ve always spoken up against homophobia and transphobia and I surround myself with plenty of queer friends and mentors too. The only thing is I’m a bit fem and I do strive to be more masc presenting. Do you think it’s possible for all these things to be true but me still have internalized homophobia?

Is it really that bad

I saw a post asking if you all would recommend a or career and the comments overwhelmingly said absolutely not due to low pay and work burnout. As a senior that majoring in PR I’m naturally pretty nervous so I just wanted to give everyone a chance to discuss some pros and cons.

Would you vote for a single politician?

Olivia says on a few different occasions that no one will vote for a single politician which honestly I have to admit is a little true for me. I don’t know if that would completely stop me from voting for someone but I have to admit it does throw me off. Of course this whole thing gets contradicted when Mellie takes office but what do you guys think about this?

Visible tattoos?

This is a little different from what I normally see posted here but I’m going into my senior year as a PR student and I really want hand tattoos (yes I know they fade quickly). I wanted to ask if you all think that would be frowned upon by employers or if you’ve seen people in the field with visible tattoos. I know it’s 2026 and a lot of people don’t care anymore (my current boss and many of the people above me at my on campus job have visible tattoos and it’s never been a problem.) But I figured I should ask first.

I’m pretty sex positive and I’ve been casual with five people since I started having sex in September. Is this pretty standard for you guys?
