Has anyone experienced this kind of dizziness and jittery feeling?

I’ve been dealing with dizziness for several months and my GP thinks it’s a balance/vestibular issue. I’m currently taking betahistine and I do think I’m slowly improving because I can stand for longer than before.
The strange part is what happens when I move around.
When I walk, do chores, move my head a lot, or sometimes after eating (especially breakfast), I feel really jittery. My heart feels like it’s beating harder or faster, but whenever I check my pulse it’s usually normal and feels regular.
The best way I can describe it is:
My feet feel floaty, like they’re not properly on the ground.
It feels like I’m “moon walking” or like I’m a puppet.
My legs feel shaky and unstable.
I feel like I might drop, but I’ve never actually fainted.
If I lie down, I usually feel much better.
Sitting in a car, I’m usually completely fine.
Crowded places also make everything worse, whereas being outside in fresh air seems to help.
I’m wondering if anyone else with a vestibular/balance problem has experienced this combination of:
floaty feet,
shaky legs,
feeling like you’re walking on the moon,
and feeling your heartbeat more during movement, even though your heart rate is normal.
Did it improve over time? Did vestibular rehab or medication help?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s experienced something similar.

Dizziness, swaying feeling, heart racing when standing/moving — anyone else had this? (on betahistine)

Hi everyone,
I’ve been dealing with something really confusing and scary for a while now and I’m trying to see if anyone has experienced similar.
My main symptoms are:
Feeling dizzy / floaty / off balance
Feeling like I’m swaying or being pulled when walking
Feeling like my feet aren’t properly on the ground
Symptoms get worse when I:
stand up
walk
look up or down
move my head or arms
My heart feels like it races or I become very aware of it, especially when I feel unsteady or anxious
Sometimes I feel shaky / jittery
I feel much better when I lie down
I’ve had my:
blood pressure checked → normal
blood sugar checked → normal
heart rate checked → usually normal (around 70–90 at rest, sometimes ~100+ when walking or anxious)
My GP thinks it may be a balance/vestibular issue and has started me on:
Betahistine dihydrochloride (8mg, Milpharm) – 3 times a day (trial for 1 week)
I’ve started it and I do feel a bit better sometimes, but I still get episodes where I feel really unsteady and my heart feels like it’s racing when I move.
What’s confusing me is:
It feels worse in the morning
Sometimes food seems to help
Sitting/lying down makes it better
But standing or moving can bring it back quickly
I’m really anxious about it because it feels like my heart is involved, but tests so far have been normal.
Has anyone had similar symptoms and what was your outcome?
Any advice or reassurance would really help.

Feeling dizzy, swaying, near-faint when standing but urgent care said everything is normal — what could this be?

Hi everyone,
I’m really confused and a bit scared so I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced something similar.
For the past while I’ve been getting episodes where:
When I stand up or walk I feel really dizzy and like I might pass out
My legs feel shaky and weak
I feel hot/flushed sometimes
My balance feels off / like I’m swaying or “sliding” even when lying in bed
My eyes sometimes feel like they can’t properly focus
I feel better sitting or in a car, but worse when standing or moving
Today it got worse so I went to urgent care. They checked my blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar, and temperature and said everything was normal. They told me to follow up with my GP.
Now I’m confused because I still feel these symptoms even though all the tests were normal at the time I was feeling unwell.
Has anyone had anything similar?
What could cause:
dizziness + swaying/rocking feeling
feeling like you might faint when standing
symptoms improving when sitting or in a car
normal basic checks at urgent care
I’m worried but also trying to understand what this could be. Any advice or similar experiences would really help.

Feeling dizzy, shaky, overwhelmed + sensitive to noise after a panic attack/accident — could this be anxiety, PPPD, or something else?

Hi everyone,
I’m honestly struggling a lot and just need some advice or people who might relate.
Since a car accident and panic attack last year, I’ve been dealing with really strange symptoms that come and go. Some days I can walk fine (even 10k–15k steps), shower normally, and feel okay. Other days I suddenly feel really unsteady, like:
dizziness / rocking or swaying feeling
jelly legs or weakness when standing or walking
feeling worse in busy places like shopping centres
heart racing at times, especially after eating or when standing
feeling overwhelmed by noise or arguments (it makes me cry or feel like it hits my head)
feeling much better when sitting or lying down
Lately it’s been affecting daily life more, like showering, going to the bathroom, and even just being in noisy environments. It also seems worse when I’m stressed or when people around me are arguing.
I’ve been wondering if this could be something like PPPD, POTS, anxiety/nervous system overload, or something else like B12/iron issues. The problem is everything seems to overlap and I’m confused.
Has anyone experienced something similar after stress, panic attacks, or trauma? And if so, what helped you get better?
I’m trying to understand what’s going on and not spiral, but it’s really affecting my life right now.

Feeling like I’m going to pass out in shopping centres – does anyone else get this?

I’ve been struggling with something that’s really worrying me and wondered if anyone else has experienced it.
Today I went into a shopping centre and within a few minutes I started feeling really weird. I became very dizzy, my legs felt like jelly, and I had this swaying/rocking feeling like I couldn’t stand properly. My whole back, from the back of my head down my spine, felt really stiff and tense. I felt so overstimulated by all the people, lights, and noise that I thought I was going to pass out.
I got so scared that people were going to see me faint that I had to leave straight away. As soon as I got back to the car and sat down, I started feeling much better within a few minutes.
The strange thing is I’ve been to the same shopping centre recently and felt completely fine. Some days I can go out with no problems at all, and other days I feel awful.
I also get episodes where after eating (especially in the morning) I become shaky, dizzy, my heart races, and I feel like I’m going to faint, especially if I get up and start doing things.
I’ve never actually fainted, but the feeling is so convincing that it really scares me.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? If so, did you ever find out what was causing it?

Does anyone get a racing heart after meals if they get up straight away?

Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone else experiences this.
Almost every time I eat, especially a bigger meal, my heart starts racing if I stand up straight away or try to do anything around the house. I feel really shaky, hot, breathless, and like I just can’t stay on my feet. Sometimes it feels like my legs are weak or wobbly too.
The strange thing is that if I sit back down, my heart rate gradually settles and I start feeling much better. It’s mainly when I’m upright after eating that it’s at its worst.
Has anyone else had this? Did you ever find out what was causing it? I’ve seen people mention things like blood pressure changes, blood sugar, or POTS/dysautonomia, but I’m not sure.
I’d really appreciate hearing if anyone has experienced something similar or has any advice. Thanks!

Persistent dizziness / rocking sensation after panic attack — worse standing, better sitting. Could this be anxiety or PPPD?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been dealing with something that’s really affecting my daily life and I’m hoping to hear if anyone else has experienced this.
For months now I’ve had a constant dizziness / swaying / rocking sensation, mostly when I’m standing or walking. It feels like my body is moving or I’m on a boat, even though I’m still.
My symptoms:
Dizziness / swaying feeling when standing or moving
Feels worse when I’m upright and better when sitting or lying down
“Jelly legs” / shaky feeling when I stand
Sometimes heart racing when I feel dizzy (but it settles when I sit)
Feeling like I might fall even though I’ve never actually fainted
Feels worse when I focus on it or feel anxious
Triggers / background:
This started after a really bad panic attack a while ago. I also had a minor car accident around the same time (no injuries, no airbags, but it really triggered my anxiety again).
Since then I feel like I’ve been stuck in a cycle of:
dizziness → fear → panic → worse symptoms → more fear
I also have a long history of health anxiety on and off for years, but this feels like it’s become constant.
What I’ve noticed:
I feel significantly better when I sit down or lie down
Symptoms come on more when I’m upright, cooking, cleaning, or moving around
Some days are better than others
I can still function but it feels very difficult and draining
What I’m worried about:
I keep worrying it could be something serious like heart issues, neurological problems, or something like POTS or PPPD. I’ve read a lot online which probably hasn’t helped my anxiety.
I’ve had basic medical checks in the past (blood tests, etc.) which were fine, but I haven’t had anything recent for this specific issue.

My question:
Has anyone experienced something similar — constant swaying dizziness like this that gets worse standing and improves sitting?
And if so, what helped you?
I’m really trying to understand if this is anxiety-related, vestibular, or something else, because right now it feels like I’m stuck in a loop and it’s really affecting my life.

Constant rocking / swaying dizziness after panic attack + car accident (standing is worst, walking is okay) — anyone recovered?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for people with similar symptoms because I’ve been dealing with something really strange since around December.
It started after a car accident (we hit a lamp post, no airbags) and shortly after I had a panic attack. Since then I’ve had ongoing dizziness that hasn’t fully gone away.i did use to get use to get vertigo and dizziness on and off but didn’t last more than few minutes
My symptoms:
Constant rocking / swaying / wobbling sensation
Feels like my feet are sliding or not stable
Standing still is the worst (kitchen, queues, shower are hard)
Walking is actually easier and I can do 2k–15k steps a day
Looking down at my phone while walking makes me dizzy
Moving head up/down or busy environments can trigger it
Sometimes feel weak/heavy legs, but I can still move normally
Symptoms come and go in intensity (some days are better)
Occasionally get palpitations, hot flush, pins and needles
What makes it confusing:
I don’t actually lose balance or fall
I can still walk long distances
Some days I’m almost okay
Lying down or sitting can still feel “off” sometimes
It feels worse when I focus on it
What I’ve noticed:
It started after panic + accident
It seems worse when I’m stressed or paying attention to it
Movement sometimes helps more than stillness
My question:
Has anyone had something similar where it feels like constant dizziness/rocking but you can still function and walk нормально?
What did it turn out to be for you, and did it ever go away?

Dizziness or something major

Hi everyone,
I’ve been dealing with ongoing symptoms since around December and I’m honestly exhausted from constantly worrying and trying to figure out what’s wrong with me.its not the heart racing more it’s the dizziness swaying floaty especially if I’m walking in one spot once I stop I’ll feel like my feet are still unstable
My main issue is dizziness that comes and goes. Some days it’s mild, other days it feels like I’m unstable when walking or standing still. When I walk, I sometimes feel like my legs are weak or like I could fall, but I don’t actually collapse. If I lean on something, I feel better.
I also get a lot of other symptoms that seem to change throughout the day, like:
sudden hot or cold feelings in my body
sweaty hands/feet or general sweating episodes
feeling shaky or “on edge” inside
burning or tired eyes
head pressure or weird facial sensations at times
ear “whooshing” when I stand up
stiff or tense muscles/joints
The strangest part is how much I notice every single sensation in my body. It feels like I’m constantly scanning myself all day, and it’s mentally and physically exhausting. The more I focus on it, the worse or more noticeable everything feels.
This has led me to a lot of worry. My mind keeps jumping to serious things like brain tumour, sepsis, blood pressure issues, etc., even though I know that might not make sense. I get stuck in cycles of:
feeling something → worrying → more symptoms → more worry
I’ve noticed I feel worse when I’m standing still, walking without support, or when I’m focusing on my body. If I’m distracted, I feel a bit better.
Also important to mention: my heart doesn’t race all the time. It only tends to happen in certain situations like when I’m anxious, after drinking coke, or sometimes after eating quickly — but not every time I stand up or move around.
Today was actually a better day overall. I still had some mild dizziness on and off, especially when moving around or standing still for a while, but it wasn’t as intense as other days. I felt a bit more stable and less overwhelmed compared to usual.
At this point I just feel drained every day and I’m not sure if this is anxiety, a dizziness condition, or something else. I’m not looking for a diagnosis, just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar or knows what helped them.
Thanks for reading.

PPPD OR WHAT NOW

Hi, I’m really struggling and hoping someone can relate because this is affecting me daily.
Before all this started, I used to get spinning episodes (felt like \\\*I\\\* was spinning, not the room) with certain head positions. They would go away quickly with repositioning manoeuvres.

Heart racing and heat rushes
Nausea sometimes

\\\*\\\*BIGGEST TRIGGER: THE SHOWER\\\*\\\* 🚿
This is the worst part:
I feel \\\*\\\*SO unstable in the shower\\\*\\\*, like I’m going to fall
It’s especially bad in the \\\*\\\*bathtub shower\\\*\\\*, not as bad on normal floor
I feel like I’m swaying or being pulled
My legs feel weak and shaky
Hot water makes it worse
Washing my hair (arms up) makes me feel even more dizzy
I feel like I might faint — but I never actually do
As soon as I get out, I feel better.

\\\*\\\*Other things I’ve noticed:\\\*\\\*
I’m much better in a \\\*\\\*car\\\*\\\* (almost normal sometimes)

\\\*\\\*Triggers seem to include:\\\*\\\*
Standing still
Shower (especially tub)
Heat
Rushing around
Sometimes after eating
Like I’m just in kitchen cooking cutting and my heart races first I get dizzy but then at times my heart races it happens only in the mornings a lot by night evening I’m way better and dizziness is there still it’s like when I’m stood still I’m going back and forth hearts not racing anything it’s worrying

This all started after a panic episode / stressful time, and I’ve been hyper-aware of my body since.

\\\*\\\*My questions:\\\*\\\*
Does this sound like PPPD?
Or could it be POTS?
Why is the shower SO much worse than anything else?
My heart doesn’t race when I get up while seated it’s more like I’m dizzy and while I’m stood I’m more swaying floaty moving back and forth
Has anyone had this and actually improved?

The weirdest part for me is:
I feel like I’m going to fall in the shower… but I never actually do.

Used to have “self-spinning” vertigo that went away with manoeuvres… now constant swaying/weak legs but better in a car — anyone recovered?

Hi, I’m really struggling and hoping to hear from people who’ve experienced something similar and actually got better.
A bit of background:
Before all of this, I used to get spinning episodes where it felt like I was spinning, not the room. It would happen with certain head positions (like using my phone to my ear or lying a certain way), and I’d sometimes wake up with that spinning feeling.
The key thing is — when I did a repositioning manoeuvre, it would go away pretty quickly.

Now things feel completely different.
Since a really bad panic attack after a car incident, I’ve been dealing with this constant off-balance feeling and it’s affecting my daily life.

Current symptoms:
When I’m standing still, I feel like I’m swaying or being pushed
Feels like the floor is moving under me
When I stop walking, I get a drop/elevator feeling
My feet feel floaty, like they’re being lifted or not grounded
My legs feel weak/jelly-like
My arms sometimes feel heavy and tired
I get heart racing, heat rushes, and shakiness
I sometimes feel like I might faint (but never actually do)

Triggers:
Standing still (worst)
Being in the kitchen / brushing teeth / doing chores
Heat (especially showers)
Rushing around or moving quickly
Sometimes after eating
Walking a lot or being active for a while

Important things I’ve noticed:
I can still walk a lot some days, even though it feels uncomfortable
Sometimes the more I move around, the more dizzy I feel
Sitting or lying down helps
Being in a car makes me feel MUCH better (almost normal sometimes)
Symptoms come and go — I can feel okay for days, then it comes back
The more I focus on it, the worse it feels

Other sensations:
“Low sugar” feeling (weak, shaky, hungry) even after eating, but it goes away on its own
Tingling/itchy feeling in my feet sometimes
Hot flushes, especially during showers

I’m confused because:
Before this, I had clear spinning episodes (felt like I was spinning) that went away with manoeuvres
Now it’s more like a constant rocking/swaying/imbalance feeling

My questions:
Has anyone had spinning vertigo like this before and then developed this kind of constant dizziness?
Why do I feel better in a car but worse standing still?
Does this sound like PPPD or something nervous system related?
Has anyone actually recovered from this and how long did it take?

This is really affecting my life because I’m constantly aware of it and worried something is wrong, even though I’m still functioning.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through this and come out the other side.

Swaying / dizziness / “low sugar” feeling / shaky legs after panic attack – has anyone recovered from this?

Hi, I’m really struggling and I just want to know if anyone else has been through this and actually gotten better.
Everything started after a really bad panic attack following a car incident. Since then, my body just hasn’t felt the same.
Main symptoms:
When I’m standing still (like at the sink, brushing teeth, or just standing), I feel like I’m swaying or being pushed like my feet and legs are moving back and forth
It sometimes feels like the floor is moving or like I’m being pulled up/down
When I stop walking, I get a sudden “drop” feeling like an elevator
My feet feel really weird, almost like they’re floating or being lifted
Sometimes my whole body/back feels like it’s moving, not just my head
I get moments where I feel like I might faint (but I never actually do)
Body sensations:
Shaky legs, especially when standing
Weak/jelly feeling in arms and legs
Sometimes even holding my phone feels heavy
Tingling/itchy feeling in the soles of my feet
Hot flushes and feeling overheated during things like hoovering or showers
After showers I sometimes get red, hot, itchy patches on my skin that go away
“Low sugar” feeling:
I often feel suddenly weak, shaky, and like I need to eat urgently
It feels exactly like low blood sugar
But the weird thing is… it sometimes goes away on its own even if I don’t eat
It can happen even after I’ve just eaten
Triggers I’ve noticed:
Standing still (worst trigger)
Doing chores like hoovering or being in the kitchen
Heat (showers make me dizzy and give me hot flushes)
After eating sometimes
Moving my arms or changing position
Looking up from my phone or moving my eyes
Other things:
I feel better when sitting or lying down
Being in a car actually makes me feel more normal
Some days I feel almost completely fine, then it comes back again
It gets worse when I focus on it or think about it
Talking or distracting myself sometimes makes it better
I’ve also had:
Heart racing during episodes sometimes (but not always)
Feeling shaky after seeing something scary (like my body reacts strongly to fear now)
I do have a gallstone but I don’t think it’s related.
My doctor has ordered blood tests and wants to check me further, including neurological stuff.
Some people have mentioned things like anxiety, PPPD, or even POTS, but I’m honestly just confused at this point.
My questions:
Has anyone had this exact combination of symptoms?
Did it come and go like this for you?
Did you recover, and how long did it take?
Does this sound more like anxiety/nervous system or something like POTS?
Right now it just feels really real and scary, like I’m going to faint or my body isn’t working properly, even though I’m still managing to function.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through this and come out the other side.

Struggling with constant floaty, swaying dizziness and fear of falling – has anyone gotten better?

Hi, I’m really struggling with this and I’m hoping to hear from people who have actually experienced something similar and recovered.
Since around December I’ve been dealing with strange dizziness/balance symptoms that come and go. Some weeks I feel completely normal, then it suddenly comes back again.
My symptoms:
When I’m standing still (sink, toilet, kitchen, etc.), I feel like I’m swaying or being pushed
Sometimes it feels like wind is blowing me or like I’m going to fall forward or backward
When I stop walking, I get a sudden “drop” sensation like an elevator feeling
It can feel like the ground is moving under me
My feet feel floaty or not properly grounded when I walk
Sometimes it feels like my whole body/back is moving, not just my head
Moving my head (like looking down at my phone then up) can trigger dizziness
Leaning forward or using my arms can also trigger dizziness
Even small movements can bring the feeling on
Other symptoms:
Moments where I feel like I might faint (but I don’t actually pass out)
Heart racing when it happens
Shakiness and weakness in arms and legs
Legs feel very weak/jelly-like especially when standing
Arms (below elbows) and legs (calves to feet) can feel heavy or like they have no energy
Even holding my phone can feel heavy at times
My head can feel floaty and my eyes feel “weird” or off
Hands can feel floaty or not fully normal while doing things
Triggers I’ve noticed:
Standing still is the worst trigger
Being at the sink / doing chores in the kitchen makes it worse
Moving around then suddenly stopping makes it worse
After walking, stopping can cause that “drop” feeling
Eating then getting up can trigger dizziness and shakiness
Sometimes even focusing on it or thinking about it makes it worse
It can also happen when I’m talking or standing leaning slightly
Other important things:
Moving sometimes feels a bit better than standing still
Sitting or lying down helps
It comes in waves — I’ve had times where it completely disappeared for 1–2 weeks, then came back again
It also happened while travelling, so it’s not just my environment
It all started after a really bad panic attack, and since then I haven’t felt fully normal
This has made me really anxious because it feels very real in the moment, like I’m going to fall or faint, especially when I’m standing or doing normal daily things.
My main questions:
Has anyone experienced something like this and fully recovered?
What helped you the most?
How long did it take to improve?
Did yours also come and go like this?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who got through it because right now it’s affecting my daily life and confidence a lot.

I’m scared that it might be something very srs cause that’s how it feels

Constant swaying / “floor moving” / faint feeling when standing still – anyone else? What dizziness is this

Hi, I’m really hoping someone can relate because this has been stressing me out a lot.im scared that it’s something very serious
Since around December I’ve been getting this really weird dizziness that comes and goes. Some weeks or at point just days but it’s there in the background I feel completely normal, then it randomly comes back again.
The best way I can describe it:
when I’m standing still (like at the sink, toilet, or just standing), it feels like I’m swaying or like something is pushing me
sometimes it feels like the floor moves under me or like an elevator drop for a few seconds
when I walk and then stop, I get that “drop” feeling
my feet feel floaty, like heel to toe doesn’t feel normal
sometimes it feels like my whole back/body is moving, not just my head
I get moments where I feel like I might faint and my heart starts racing
Weirdly:
it’s worse when I’m standing still
moving around sometimes feels a bit better than standing
sitting/lying down helps
I had a period where it completely went away for like 1–2 weeks, then came back
It even happened when I travelled (so different countries), so I don’t think it’s environment.
Also:
I feel weak in my legs/arms sometimes
sometimes after walking a lot, when I stop, it feels like the ground shifts
I get scared I’m going to fall or faint, but I never actually have
Doctors haven’t found anything serious so far but I’m still worried because it feels so real.
Has anyone experienced this kind of:
swaying / rocking feeling
“floor moving” sensation
near faint feeling when standing still
If so, what was it for you and did it get better?
Would really appreciate any replies because this is honestly really scary to deal with.
