Adopted two friends for my firstborn child…now she has two enemies
Caption speaks for itself lol. It’s been two years and she still hates their guts.

Ughhhh here we go. My husband and I used to be very active, very physically connected and very fun. We started taking edibles in college around 22 years old and have not looked back since. We developed depression, horrible eating habits, and we’ve been so insecure and down on ourselves our s*x life has become stagnant. I’m not really looking for advice because we know what we need to do. I guess I just want to hear other people’s experiences? I don’t really know.
We’re 28, own a home, great jobs and good income. For months we kept saying “we have to stop getting high every night” yet we’d cave as soon as work ended. We keep talking about starting a family, but we’re both in agreement we need to turn our health and habits around first. We started eating way better lately and began working out consistently last week. We haven’t smoked or taken an edible since Sunday which sounds like nothing, but it’s progress.
It’s an addiction. It feels like I can’t enjoy certain things anymore without being high because we’ve conditioned ourselves this way for years. Gaming is more fun high, talking is more fun high, s*x is more fun high (though we haven’t even been doing that bc we lowkey hate ourselves rn), eating is better, I could go on and on.
I started writing to help distract me and it’s working. We just feel like zombies and we’ve been so lazy it’s disgusting. I don’t recognize myself anymore and I’m doing something about it.
I ordered 10 mystery boxes. 5 of them were Ravenpaw! I got a duplicate of Cloudtail and 4 different ones though so I’m not complaining. I need Tigerclaw, Squirrelflight and Jayfeather
Okay so we’re kind of new to the whole party thing. Every time we put on an event (including our wedding) everyone talks about how fun it was for months, sometimes years after. Now we have a cool house and want to throw an NYE party for 2027, but so many of our friends have moved out of state and I don’t expect them to all come back for an NYE party 😭 How do you all extend invitations so you have more people attending these things?? Do you all just have 40+ friends hanging around to participate in your themed parties?
My dilemma is more about the fact that our many friends are all in VERY different groups, which is fine. I just don’t know what to expect. Everything we’ve hosted in the past has been all family or individual friend groups.
My company finally moved from a drive-based workflow to a cloud server. A lot of us work remotely, including myself. Working from home in CAD required some patience before we upgraded. I had a week straight of no crashes, no freezing, no issues. CAD had never been so fast and efficient.
Now, all of a sudden, it can’t handle files. I’ll have a file open, I can make edits, do everything I need to do, but I can’t save. If I try to save or close the file, it freezes up my whole machine. I’ve restarted several times and that almost makes it worse.
What is going on? Has anyone else been experiencing this?
I have been writing my first nonfiction book on Inkitt and I’m just a little confused. They don’t want you to world build in the first chapter because that doesn’t “grab readers.” So now I’m wondering if it’s even worth continuing on there. I am not writing a bingeable series just to suck people in, I’m writing my real story. Wattpad confuses me too, but I haven’t done much on there yet.
What are everyone’s favorite platforms for sharing their longer books and receiving feedback?
How did you promote your book on said platforms? I can’t share mine on social media because it’s anonymous and extremely personal.
So, I wrote a book about my six year marriage and a steamy two-year relationship. I genuinely never expected anyone to care about it, but I shared the experience on a different platform and I had tons of people commenting requesting a book. I keep up with my journal so I have a real-time diary to elaborate from. I have most of it written already, but I’m submitting the chapters as I read through them to fix anything I don’t love beforehand.
Obviously everything is anonymous, including my husband and I. I’m hoping nobody I know finds it because everything else about our life is exactly the same 🤣
I’d love to know what people think of the actual writing! The story is good regardless, but the writing is what I care about.
It’s called Modern Marriage by Lady Vortex.
My husband was in the shower with music on and I was in the kitchen cooking us some lunch. We had just gotten back from a vacation so we have the rest of the week off and are just chillin at home. I’m wearing a big sweatshirt and no pants…bc I’m in my house. Our kitchen has two entrances, one to the hallway down to our bedrooms/bathroom and one to the dining room towards the front door. There was literally no way for me to leave the kitchen without being seen, as our door was open (our cats like to hang by the screen door) and the hallway is straight across from it. No, neighbors can’t see us because our driveway is long so that wasn’t a concern either. We also have TWO different No Soliciting signs. One at the beginning of our sidewalk and one next to our door.
I had the air fryer on and I hear banging at the door. I immediately hid behind the wall of the kitchen hoping they would go away after a minute. He rings the doorbell twice, knocks louder. I yell “Go away please, I’m not decent!” More ringing, more knocking. Again “I said Go Away! I am not in a state to answer the door.” More knocking, more ringing. “I’m not wearing pants! I physically cannot answer. Go away!!” Still, more knocking and ringing. Finally, I threatened to call the police and I saw a blue Spectrum shirt on a middle-aged man rushing to get back into a car through our dining room window.
My husband came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel to ask what was going on. Luckily the guy was gone bc he would have seen him in the hallway too!
I did go online and filled out their no-sales list on their website, but how tf is this still legal?? I was genuinely creeped out.
My 13 year old niece has VERY homophobic and conservative parents. My parents lean more conservative (although I’ve been educating them through the years and they are becoming more open/accepting) and most of our family are that way. My husband and I try so hard to get along with everyone while still speaking up/shutting down any stupid comments made. We have no interest in cutting people off/going no contact because we’re close with them and we’d lose access to other kids in the family if we did so. Plus I would rather continue to try and encourage them to see things more openly.
Now that you have that context, I’m not quite sure how to handle this. Her mom is cuckoo and tends to make wild accusations about people so we have to walk on eggshells around her. My brother is very opinionated and wouldn’t hesitate to flip out over something he doesn’t agree with. My niece casually told my husband and I that she is part of the queer community when we mentioned going to pride. She asked if she could come with us and I said “I don’t think your parents would approve of that, but when you’re older you know we’d take you if you still want to go.” She also proceeded to ask us questions about our trans and lesbian friends and wanted to know what they were like. We told her they were regular people with cool interests and hobbies like anyone else and their sexuality wasn’t the most important thing about them, but that we would answer her questions to the best of our ability. I’m very grateful that she’s comfortable talking to us about it because she doesn’t have other options in the family. I’m just so worried she’s going to say something to her mom about us telling her stuff and we’ll lose access to her. She grew up in a toxic household so we try to be involved in her life as much as possible.
Her mom actually told us (my mom and I) first that she claimed to be queer and we kind of brushed it off because she’s always saying crazy things. Like genuinely absurd things all the time. I talked to my mom about it and my mom is supportive of her because that’s her grandchild and she also doesn’t want her to feel alone. Idk. My biggest fear would be my niece telling her mom “Auntie and Uncle go to pride and told me all about their queer friends” and suddenly we’re being accused of “converting her with our liberal views” or something and losing her.
We finally built our lightsabers and were so excited to take a photo with them. It was thunder-storming when we finished and the crowds were insane in the shops. We had reservations at Olga’s so we took our sabers out there to look at them finally and every staff member in the building yelled at us once they turned on 🤣 We assumed it was for the lore, but nobody would tell us why for sure lol. We were funneled in and it was crowded so we could have missed signs. The hostess saw us walk in with them and didn’t say to leave them in the cases. Are we just dumb and this is a known rule or did we miss some obvious signage? Genuinely curious, not mad! We had a great time exploring Galaxy’s Edge.
