Is Soft plastic recycling worth it?

I signed up for composting service, meaning someone comes once a month to pick up your food scraps to make compost. They had an option to add on soft plastic recycling pick up as well for an annual fee so I figured why not and added it. My mom came over once and mentioned to me they very well could have taken my money and not recycled the soft plastic after picking it up. Was wondering if anyone knew how legit soft plastic recycling is or if it's basically a scam? I want to trust a company that's trying to make a difference for sustainability but you never know these days unfortunately

Vegan App Idea

I came up with an app idea, maybe this already exists but I just didn't look hard enough.

What if there's a vegan business directory so that we could all support each other as a community? Kind of like Happy Cow, but instead of it being just restaurants it could be anything. Looking for a doctor or a realtor? You could find someone who's vegan. Want new art for your house, or looking for new music? You could find an independent vegan artist. That way you can hire someone with the same values as you.

These similar apps exist already for religions and political ideologies, so I thought, hey why not one for veganism as well.

Idk just a thought

Michael Bennet Series

If anyone has read the Michael Bennett series by James Patterson, I picked up the book Shattered without realizing it was number 14 in a series. I'm thinking about just reading it anyway since I have it, but can anyone let me know if I'll be totally lost? Or is it mostly fine.

Is it rude to leave political books in a little free library?

I read a political book, it was pretty partisan so I wasn't sure if it would be rude to donate to the Little Free Library on my block since I don't know the owner's political affiliation. I just don't like offending people or making them uncomfortable. Thoughts?

Is it possible to be a soy free vegan?

I have a friend who said she wishes she could be vegan, except that she has a soy allergy. I thought about it for a moment and realized she's kinda right. I brought up seitan and she said she can be a little sensitive to gluten also. Plus where I live in the United States it can be hard to find. I was just curious, if anyone is plant based but does it without eating soy?

Phishing Scams / Email Spoofing

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had some communication tips on a situation I've been having at work? So my boss has been complaining that she keeps getting phishing emails sent from me, but it's not actually coming from my email, someone is spoofing the emails to make them look like they are coming from my address. She keeps complaining about them like she wants me to do something about it, I changed my password because that's all I could think to do but obviously that didn't do anything because whoever is sending them doesn't actually have access to my email. I keep explaining the situation to her but I don't think she understands. Has anyone ever dealt with anything similar?

Blackbird Foods Vegan Mozzarella

Hey,

Does anyone have any idea how long the Blackbird vegan mozzarella lasts in the fridge? Or if it can be frozen? They sell it in bulk, and I'm intrigued to buy it, but I'm a 1 person household so I probably won't go through it that fast (it's 2.5 pounds)

Dog Contact Skin Irritation

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I took her to the vet and he said it's probably a reaction to flea bites, but I put her on flea medication and it doesn't seem to be helping. I don't have a yard so it can't be from laying on grass or anything like that.

Love, Pamela

Hi! If anyone in here likes reading memoirs, I recommend Pamela Anderson's book (just finished it). It's about her life story, but she talks about her veganism and animal rights activism pretty extensively.

Hello! I was wondering what everyone's opinions were on modern animal agriculture? There's been a lot of criticism going around over the meat industry, and one of the main arguments I see is that Indigenous cultures ate meat. I was wondering what your opinions or perspectives are on this?

Yes, human beings have been eating meat for thousands of years. On the other hand, our current system is completely different than it was for Indigenous cultures. A lot of people that used this argument seem to say it without even asking Indigenous people, so I thought I'd actually ask. Not just about the agriculture itself, but also what do you think about people using Indigenous as an argument to defend it?
