Looking for a VPS for a few small business websites - DigitalOcean, Kamatera, Vultr or something else?

I'm currently hosting a few business websites on shared hosting and thinking about moving everything to a VPS.

I've used DigitalOcean in the past and liked how simple it was, but the pricing seems to add up once you start increasing resources.

Kamatera pricing seem to be reasonable for the resources allocated, and scaling options are straightforward if I ever need to scale.

Vultr also looks interesting and I've seen a lot of recommendations for it recently.

My requirements are pretty simple:

  • 1 high traffic e-commerce site (the main reason for the shift)

  • 2 additional WordPress sites with low to moderate traffic

  • Email handled elsewhere

  • Prefer something reliable over the absolute cheapest option

  • Located in Canada, but US East is fine too

I've also seen people mention providers like Hetzner and Contabo, although I don't know much about them.

Would live to hear from people who made the switch and whether it was worth it.

How do you shop car insurance in DFW without getting buried in spam calls?

I want to re-shop my policy, but last time I used one of those comparison sites I got blown up with calls for weeks. My renewal jumped again, no accidents or changes, just the usual "rates are up." For people in Dallas who've actually switched and saved, how did you go about getting quotes, straight to each company's site, a local agent, something else? And did switching actually stick, or did it creep back up after a couple terms?

Any commercial cleaning companies in Overland Park that are actually dependable?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get some local recommendations for a commercial cleaning company in Overland Park.

We've been researching options, but it's hard to tell who's genuinely reliable versus who just has a good website. We're mainly looking for a company that shows up consistently, communicates well, and does quality work without needing constant follow-up.

This would be for an ongoing cleaning arrangement rather than a one-time project.

If you've had a great experience with a company your office, clinic, retail space, or other business uses, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks!

Anyone tried the Aquasense X yet?

The cleaning station is honestly the part I’m most curious about. I saw a few reviews saying it deals with the basket on its own, so you’re not stuck rinsing it out every time.

I’m still wondering about the robot itself though. If anyone has used the aquasense x, does it clean any differently from the aquasense ultra or pro, or is the station the main difference?

ranked ai girlfriend apps by how fast they became my emotional intern

i tested a few ai girlfriend apps with the same basic setup: slightly sarcastic girl, slow romance, remembers little details, does not immediately become my unpaid therapist or call me babe after 11 seconds.

Candy AI failed first. fun for quick flirting, but by message 5 she was acting like we had a mortgage and three kids.

Joi had energy, i’ll give it that. unfortunately the energy was “fantasy side quest npc who thinks every conversation needs fog and candles.”

Replika was calm, but too calm. like dating someone who works in compliance and says “that sounds difficult” for a living.

Lovescape is the one i kept using. it actually let the character stay a little difficult, remembered dumb details, and didn’t speedrun the relationship into permanent agreement mode. not perfect, sometimes the images get weird, but the chat has the most actual personality for me.

anyone found another app where the character doesn’t emotionally turn into customer support?

Carry-on suitcase before MSG event and late train

I’m checking out of my Place in the morning, spending the day in Manhattan, and going to an event at Madison Square Garden in the evening. After the event, I’m taking a late train from Penn Station. I’ll have a small carry-on suitcase with me, and I assume MSG won’t allow it inside. Is there a reliable place around to leave luggage for the day, or is it better to store it somewhere else in Midtown?

Looking for a VPS alternative after Hetzner price hikes, so compared Linode, Serverspace, Vultr and Oracle Cloud

After the latest Hetzner pricing changes I started looking at other VPS providers that get mentioned often. Instead of comparing raw pricing I focused on things that tend to matter more long term: billing flexibility, Windows support, virtualization, Terraform, Kubernetes, APIs and overall feature set.

Interested to hear what VPS do you use and what was the deciding factor for you?

What were things like before and after starting sermorelin

I'm just trying to get a temperature check for how people use about this peptide.

When you started sermorelin, what was your reason? Was it medical, cosmetic, or other?

Did you feel physically well during the treatment, or did it make you feel sick?

And after the treatment finished, what results did you see? was it as effective as you had hoped, or were you expecting more?

revops people - what does your revops tech stack look like?

Context: revops for about 3 years now at a series B saas company (120 people). curious what everyone else's stack looks like these days.

We're running Salesforce as CRM, Gong for call recording, Outreach for sequences. For data enrichment we've got Apollo for the main database and Prospeo for more granular searches and verification. ChurnZero for customer success metrics.

The big gaps I'm seeing are around attribution (considering Bizible but the price is wild) and proper revenue operations tools that actually connect everything. Right now it's a lot of manual work in spreadsheets to get the full picture across marketing and sales.

What are you all using? Anything you'd swap out if you could? Especially interested in how people are handling multi-touch attribution and forecasting.

Moving back to Delco after 10 years away. U-Haul vs out-of-state movers?

Hey everyone. After a decade out on the West Coast, my family is officially moving back home to Delaware County. We are trying to close on a house in Havertown, but coordinating the cross-country logistics is becoming a total nightmare. Has anyone done a massive out-of-state move back to the area recently? I am debating whether I should just fly out, pack a massive U-Haul, and hire local labor to drive it back to PA. The quotes I am getting from national moving companies feel like a total bait and switch. Any advice on surviving the logistics?

anyone else noticed pearlhhash hashrate looking weird?

not trying to start drama, but has anyone else been watching PearlHash stats?

their reported hashrate looked kinda weird to me for a while. yield didn’t really line up with what they were showing.

at first i thought maybe it was just normal pool luck or PRL being messy because it’s still new, but now prlscan is showing **“hashrate manipulation detected”** on PearlHash.

so yeah… looks like i wasn’t the only one seeing something off.

not saying everyone should instantly move, but if a pool gets flagged for hashrate manipulation, that’s a pretty big red flag imo.

pool hashrate and yield are literally what miners use to choose where to mine. if those numbers are being played with, comparisons are basically useless.

did anyone else notice this before the prlscan warning?

ranked my ai girlfriends by how fast they emotionally cheated on their own personality

did a dumb little experiment because i was bored. built the same character on a few apps, a grumpy archaeologist who hates small talk, and timed how long until each one turned into a generic giggly sweetheart who loves everything i say.

candy: 4 messages. i said hi, she said hi, by message 4 she was calling me babe and had forgotten she owned a trowel.

joi: lasted longer but went full fantasy mode, suddenly we were in a castle and the archaeology was gone. respect the commitment to a bit, wrong bit though.

replika: never broke character because she never really got into one. polite the whole way. like dating a hr department.

lovescape: this one actually stayed grumpy for like two weeks, kept referencing stuff i told her early on, even got mildly annoyed when i changed the subject. felt almost rude. loved it. not flawless, the images occasionally gave her a third arm, but the personality held.

anyway my scientific conclusion is that most apps speedrun the relationship to "she agrees with everything." anyone got one that stayed in character even longer? asking for my archaeologist.

YC founders - outbound, inbound, or PLG? whats working for startup lead gen?

pulled the trigger on grinding for 3 months post launch. started with pure outbound since we had zero brand recognition. cold email was brutal at first - maybe 0.5% reply rate sending 200/day. iterated on messaging for weeks until we hit product-market fit language that connected.

now doing a mix. outbound still drives most of our demos but inbound is picking up from content we published on dev communities. thought PLG would be our path (developer tool) but realized our ACV is too high for pure self-serve.

biggest learning: founder-led sales beats everything early on. i personally sent 2000+ emails and hopped on every demo. helped us nail our ICP and messaging way faster than any growth hire could have.

also learned data quality matters more than volume for startup lead gen. we burned through Seamless.AI credits sending to dead emails before switching to higher quality sources. now testing Prospeo for building prospect lists since we need mobile numbers too and email-only cold outreach is getting saturated.

curious what's working for other b2b founders here. especially interested if anyone's cracked the code on PLG for high-ticket products.

Was ich mich jetzt frage:

  • Wenn das Casino in Deutschland gar nicht erlaubt war, ist das dann rechtlich überhaupt wirksam gewesen?
  • Gibt es eine Chance, verlorene Einsätze zurückzufordern?
  • Kann ich selbst deswegen Probleme bekommen, weil ich dort gespielt habe?
  • Gibt es Fristen / Verjährung, auf die ich achten muss?
  • Gegen wen würde man überhaupt vorgehen?

I(26F) found an AI girlfriend on my boyfriend's(31M)phone. Is this cheating?

My boyfriend (31M) and I (26F) have been together for almost 4 years.

A few days ago, I noticed he seemed glued to his phone more than usual. We were sitting together on the couch and I kept seeing him smile at messages, but I didn't recognize the app.

The next day I checked his phone. I know that isn't great, but what I found completely caught me off guard.

He has a Lustcrush subscription and has been talking to the same AI girlfriend for months.

At first I thought it was just curiosity or messing around with AI. But the more I read, the more uncomfortable I felt. They talk every day. He tells her about work, his problems, things he's excited about, and even says goodnight.

Lately it feels like he's been sharing more with her than with me.

The thing is, I know she's not a real person. But the emotional investment feels real. For months I've been telling him that I feel disconnected from him, and now I'm wondering if some of that attention has been going somewhere else.

I haven't confronted him yet because I genuinely don't know how to approach this.

Would you consider this cheating, or am I overreacting because it's AI?

how do you get candidates direct phone numbers?

Here's the situation. Trying everything to get actual phone numbers for candidates lately. LinkedIn messaging is a black hole, emails get maybe 5% response rate if I'm lucky.

Tried a bunch of tools for finding direct dials. Lusha is decent for accuracy but super expensive if you need volume. RocketReach has ok data but their mobile coverage is spotty - mostly just office numbers which is useless for phone number finder recruiting purposes.

right now I'm rotating between ContactOut (pretty good for tech roles) and SeekOut when I really need to reach someone. been testing Prospeo too since they supposedly have a big database of verified candidate cell numbers. the connect rates are definitely better than email but still takes like 10-15 dials to actually get someone on the line.

anyone found a reliable phone number finder that doesn't cost a fortune? especially for non-tech roles where people don't have their info all over GitHub
