How can I immediately listen back to a take recorded with the Rode Wireless Pro?
After a take I want listen back to it.
After a take I want listen back to it.
I keep seeing references to proprietary .UGG files being recorded by the transmitters then needing an app to convert them to . WAV files.
It appears that the Rode Wireless Pro is the only one that comes close. It doesn't have an SD card slot which I would much prefer and it can't be jammed.
It ticks a lot of boxes compared to other budget solutions but it doesn't allow for audio monitoring, the companion app only displays level meters. It's 32bit float so there is an argument to be made to support this omission with regard to listening for clipping but monitoring audio is so much more than that; clothing rustle being the one that most readily comes to mind.
On the plus side: it uses removable batteries of one's choice, has a locking lav mic input, records to memory cards, accepts jam sync (LTC only), and... it's made by Tascam.
Nevertheless, the instability to monitor the audio feels like a deal-breaker.
Thought?
... and yes, a handful can be "judgy"; they might not say anything, but they notice.
With this in mind...
What brands might you choose over others when all other things are equal except cost.
How easy/difficult/time consuming is this?
I feel like not having a lens with a 24mm FOV is a problem. The 150mm is the only "standard" of the lot but the others seem "close enough". Whaddya think?
Color, contrast, anything else anyone might want to mention.
I feel like the lack of a serious 24mm is a handicap.
I'm wondering how others organize their AKS cases and how you decide what goes in them as opposed to your gear-specific cases. For instance, do you keep all your batteries, powerbanks, related cables, and adapters, in a dedicated "power case" or do they go into an AKS with other things? If a drone is part of your camera package, does it get it's own dedicated AKS case?
>A well organized AKS case is as important as good cable management. I can't tell you how many times I've had to dig through an AKS case that looked like a toddler's toybox; no utility pouches/ditty bags (sometimes an old Ziploc that burst open years before), no small parts boxes, no labels, no dividers, just a mess of AKS, loose and knocking about inside a Pelican case. Even worse is the canvas bag that was free swag from a previous show. This doesn't happened exclusively on small shows, either.
I'd certainly appreciate seeing what others have accomplished with this kit lens in low light conditions using only available light.
I would like to just press the camera's menu button, have it appear on the 7" monitor, then access everything from the 7" monitor without ever looking use the camera's touchscreen.
I'm using an HDMI monitor. I want to be able to toggle the info display on and off without menu diving by assigning the on/off function to a custom button. When I press and hold the F3 button in order to make the assignment I don't see that option.
I can't believe I haven't been able to get this information through a G-Search.
First, lets get it out of the way that Lav Diaz's "Magellan" is an amazing piece of cinema; it's art.
Okay, it was shot using a GH7 and the Panasonic/Leica 10-50mm f1.7 zoom. The style of shooting, mostly static frames but with movement within the frame, allowed me to study the images from the P/L under a myriad of real world motion picture circumstances.
There is no such real world long-form motion picture examples from Meike Mini Primes. The Panasonic/Leica zoom is a hybrid and focus-by-wire but IQ and QC make workarounds more palatable, especially from a such a well known quantity.
The Panasonic/Leica 10-25mm f1.7 only covers half the focal range of a Meike 6 lens kit while costing the same... but in the end it's Leica glass vs Meike.
Sleeping on such things is always a good idea but...
What say you???
