OPs around Scout Area or nearby?

Hi! I’m moving to Scout Area by the end of the month and I wanna continue playing. (Sayang paddle lol)

Self-rating: Beginner-advanced beginner at most (self-rating).

No DUPR. Reason for playing is to be active and keep losing weight. Came from 85kgs down to around 77kgs+- after almost 1.5 months of playing. 36yo. Male. Very friendly. Hindi buraot. Professional.

Are there any OPs or clubs that welcome my level?

Happy to be pickleball buddies too! 🥒🏀

Totoo nga: When it rains, it pours

I’ve been unemployed since February 1 this year after our project ended. I received around ₱400k in separation/financial assistance, but of course, the bills didn’t stop. Every month, I watched my savings slowly go down.

I sent out hundreds of job applications. Got interviewed here and there. I even received a few offers, but I turned them down because I felt they weren’t worth leaving my previous role for.

Then the months passed.

The callbacks became fewer until they almost stopped completely. I started questioning myself. After working continuously for four years, I wondered if I was still good enough to compete in the job market. It took a toll on my mental health. I had trouble sleeping and spent a lot of nights overthinking.

But every day, I still opened LinkedIn, JobStreet, wherever I could find openings. I kept sending applications and hoping something would stick.

Then one interview turned into an offer.

The salary is lower than what I used to earn because it’s an individual contributor role instead of a managerial one—₱80k gross. It also means moving back to Manila and leaving the life I built outside Luzon over the past four years. It wasn’t exactly the plan, but I figured it’s better to start somewhere than keep waiting for the “perfect” opportunity.

Then, almost out of nowhere, another email came.
I got accepted as a national consultant for one of the companies I’ve always wanted to work with. In my field, it’s one of the big names. They offered me a four-month consultancy worth around ₱900k, and I immediately accepted.

The next few months will definitely be challenging because I’ll be juggling both roles, but I’m choosing to see it as an investment. Aside from the additional income and having this organization on my CV, I’ll also be working directly with the department lead, who happens to be an expat. It’ll be a great opportunity to learn, gain exposure, and build a strong professional network.

By January, the consultancy will be over, and I’ll only have to focus on my full-time job.

After months of uncertainty, rejection, and self-doubt, I guess people were right.

When it rains, it pours.

Now my next problem is looking for a place to rent around the Scout Area in QC or nearby places. 😅 If anyone has leads for a cat-friendly apartment or condo, I’d really appreciate it.

Yun lang. Career dust and money dust para sa ating lahat. ✨

LF Rental in Morato or Scout Area

Hi everyone! I’ll be relocating to Quezon City. Any recoms on where to live around the Tomas Morato or Scout Area?

My priorities are:

● Safe and secure (24/7 security would be ideal)
● Pet/cat-friendly
● Quiet and well-maintained
● Budget-friendly if possible

If you have any recommendations for specific buildings or neighborhoods, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I’m a development and humanitarian worker in BARMM. AMA.

For context, I was born and raised in Manila. I only moved to BARMM in 2021 for work. I’m leaving soon though! Ask me anything! ☺️

First Time Ko magluto ng Laing

Okay, sa mga purists dyan, constructive criticism will help! Go easy on me, please! 😭🙏

Anyway, madali lang siyang lutuin. Matagal lang. More than an hour akong nagpakulo-halo-timpla. I cooked it under low fire, kasi gusto ko maabsorb nang leaves yung gata nang maayos. Gusto ko pa sana medyo mas magdry para mas maraming oil from gata ang lumabas kaso takot ako na masunog ang ilalim.

As a person na kumakain ng sili every subo, walang anghang to for me kahit may mga sili. Nagcontrol ako kasi nga gusto ko matikman ng iba.

Cooked waaaayyy too many for 2 people— kaya mamimigay ako sa kapitbahay! I also used chicken chunks instead of pork kasi boyf is Muslim. 🌈

EDIT:

If you’re in Cotabato City, I’d be happy to give you some! ☺️
