What type of caladium is this? Tag says Burst My Bubble but I can't find anything on that
I got home from work to discover the aftermath of my hanging basket jumping.. The coco pot was face-down into the railing, with lights tangled all around. Was it the devious plan of Patricia the petunia, or Brine the potato vine? ๐๐
September 2026. Following weeks of drought, i finally make my move.
The target: one innocent patch of dayflowers.
The accomplice: dog.
The motive: houseplant.
The evidence: pictured above. ๐
A Carolina mantis has made its home on my porch! I first spotted it as a juvenile last month. Since then, it's shown great interest in my plants, and even let me hold it this morning! Winter will be here in 2 months; should I build an indoor terrarium for it around my indoor plants?
The first 4 pics are of today, the rest spread out from back to when I first spotted it lurking in the corner.
Found this stunning Oscar alongside other albino ones while browsing a local store for a friend's birthday! Felt like a kid in a candy store again, I hope they like it! ๐ฅณ
There are no traditional dark tips or spotting anywhere on him, and the eyes are bright red. Wish I could keep him myself, but I would feel guilty ๐
Driving along and saw this both in downtown Tulsa and closer down the road right in Jenks, crazy and looked like 2 separate fires around 1:30pm
I'm simply a tired warrior.
I lost my partner to suicide a little over a year ago, and my childhood best friend to a rape rumor she started against a mutual friend that, I knew was untrue due to being present during that night, barely a month after.
I've isolated from what other little friends I've kept out of fear of burdening them, and have sought solace in therapy but financially I've had to cut back my sessions from every week to every other, which I despise.
I have felt in limbo for perhaps the entirety of this past year, and the good days are fleeting in between. I'm still here, still fighting, but holy shit, am I tired of having to be.
Thank you for listening. ๐ Anyways, these Waffle House waffle batters aren't gonna mix themselves.
I am over the moon!! I still can't believe my luck on fb marketplace ๐คฉ
The haul includes my first ever monstera deliciosa with THREE strong rooted cuttings at that, a well established White Princess philodendron, Pink Princess philodendron, a tradescantia Nanouk, and a struggling Echervethia that I can throw with my leggy neon breaker. ๐
I'm detective-level researching how to care for these very differently behaving beauties. Any advice โ or roasting on behalf of me jumping into the ocean without a life jacket โ is appreciated!
Making time for things that make me happy again, and coloring has always been a favorite time passer.
I primarily use Art skills dual-tipped brush markers, but I also sometimes use chalk & oil pastels, crayons, colored pencils, and I plan to get a white gel pen! ๐
OCD makes finding a balanced color palette more tedious than it should be sometimes, hence the unfinished pieces that I guiltily flip past.
I fear messing up good pictures with either the wrong color or a wrong brush stroke, but I'm learning to trust my choices and instincts more. I love my color choices, and I can't wait to delve into light, shadows, and highlights to further improve!
I've held on to the first lamp since I was young and inherited it from my mother's nightstand when she inherited her mother's set. It's missing a few crystals which I want to try to match and fix or replace.
The second lamp is a dirty stunner. I can see hints of a copper metal beneath the soot colored base, and want to try polishing it back to its shiny glory. Any suggestions on how to do this without damaging the metal or glass?
One of my favorite lamps! The metal palm leaves are entirely adjustable, though I don't risk bending the centers too much. It came with a hideous tan shade which I don't regret throwing outโ I want to find a good shaped shade and customize it to match the base. However! I HATE the yellow color and almost want to try painting it. Any recommendations past my idea of trying to match the gold a shade darker?
What is hanging off of this car??
Judge my collection!
Small but mighty, these cookbooks have gotten me through a decade of meal planning. I also use the Samsung Food app for collecting digital recipes that I haven't yet added to the white binder of personal and favorite recipes written in print. I inherited The Good Housekeeping & BHG cookbooks from my mom when I was 17, and "A Man, A Can, A Plan" was a hilariously never used gag gift one holiday (I would feel guilty giving it to a second-hand.) I use Libgen to read Modernist Cuisine because I'm not yet that crazy, and a variety of other cookbooks that are also on my Amazon/kindle lists.
Personally, I don't have a gallbladder but I'm on a see-food diet. My kid is type 1 diabetic, and my partner has sensitivities/intolerances that have him more inclined to keto. Needless to say, we try to eat healthy but I have a huge sweet tooth lol. Cookbooks that provide nutritional info are especially interesting to me. Any suggestions to add to my shelf are welcomed! ๐
