This is peak what graphics in a game are, and why do we need more of this (opinion warning)

Games: Kenhi, Pathfinder WOTR, Caves of Qud, Devil Spire Falls.

Being honest it doesn't look that good and if it where for graphics alone i would probably play Black Flag or something, but the thing that comes along with a limited graphical budget is development in every other aspect of the game, reaching a level of depth that you cannot achieve while still having "photorealistic graphics".

Kenshi is a brutal, open-ended sandbox RPG with no linear story or traditional quests. Set in a punishing, post-apocalyptic world, you start as a "nobody" and must survive by scavenging, trading, thieving, or building a faction. Skills are learned through practice, and the world offers absolute freedom. The game has many amazing and intricate systems like a dynamic "world state" that changes as factions wage war agains each other, a cool economy sistem and probably my favorite combat system ever, where you can control from a single guy to an army of wretches.

Caves of Qud is a deep, science-fantasy roguelike RPG set on a post-post-apocalyptic Earth. Where you explore a vast, procedurally generated world of ancient ruins and bizarre factions. You can play as a mutant or an un-mutated human. The game features a deeply simulated environment. You can hack robots, persuade or romance almost any NPC (including walls and chairs), or melt through physical barriers to skip obstacles, and whatever crazy shit you can fathom.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is an epic isometric fantasy CRPG where you lead a holy crusade to close the Worldwound, a massive planar rift leaking demonic armies from the Abyss into the mortal realm of Golarion. The game features amazing character customization with over 190 classes, 12 base races and many other choices that you make during level up, think of the complexity of BG3 but way more complex and deep. It also has an amazing story that changes according to your actions and choices, its my favorite CRPG ever.

Devils Spire Falls: kind of a bonus pick since i havent played much of it but wanted to give it some attention, it has great themes with all of its different races and ways that you can customize your character, it is feeling like a first person kenshi combined with caves of qud.

Im sick of the puddle comparisons and the horse balls shrinking in the cold (looking at you, RDR2). Most AAA games I've played lately look absolutely stunning but are mechanically shallow, and on top of that you need the latest GPU just to notice a graphical difference that's barely there.

And I get why it happens. Pushing graphical fidelity is expensive but predictable throw more artists and rendering budget at it and you get a measurable, demoable result. Deep, emergent mechanics are a riskier investment: they need iteration and design talent that doesn't scale the same way just by throwing money at it. A screenshot sells in three seconds. "This game has genuinely reactive systems" doesn't show up in a trailer. And let's not pretend the Nvidia/AMD marketing deals aren't part of why certain titles get pushed as graphical showcases in the first place that's a hardware sales relationship, not a design philosophy.

As a community, we should stop asking for better graphics and start demanding deeper games with mechanics that actually matter. We keep rewarding the wrong thing.

This game will age poorly after the ai freedom revolution with all those hard c's they throw in the trailer

it will be like those old disney movies featuring offensive representations of black people.

Im a new player (500hs) i have a question about MM, how do you thematically and somewhat practically build his armies considering the focus on artillery and slayers?

Title, but my question comes from wanting to build an army focused on artillery, but seeing that MM gets a lot of buffs to slayer units from his skill tree, the legendary hero and he also gets them from his airship, makes me think that i could add some slayers in the mix. But the issue comes with slayers being famously prone to keeping their word and dying, which doesn't help at holding a line for my artillery. I know i could just use gyrocopters, but i really want to focus on artillery, so how do you build his armies?.

Whether you buy any DLC or not 9.0 is going to be HUGE

Aside from the 4 extra campaigns the game is going to get, we are getting so much content, in the form of:

  • 5 extra enemies or allies, for me one of the most interesting things of this game is the variety in enemies and characters you can meet, and the 5 that are already anounced look to be amazing.
  • A rework to Archaeon and the vampire counts, im sure this will be great for jumping back to their respectives campaings, i personally struggle a lot to play the VC because i feel their mechanics to be a little outdated, also most heroes and GL feel kind of samey.
  • The end game scenarios, from what i understood you dont need any DLC to see this but to fight all of chaos, undead or skaven united is going to be epic. I always felt like the game needed a big bad for the latest stages of the game and im sure this will fill that gap with colours.
  • Legendary Heroes, Im just happy we are getting some for the Skaven, Nurgle, Empire and V Counts (possible shared with V Coast and TK too). I feel like thsi is something that really enhances the feel of any faction i play.
  • AI improvements, siege rework and some other possible changes, im not too sure what of this will come but it would sure be good for the game (and needed).
  • Any possible FLC content that might be added, aside from Neferat i think that nothing has been announced but it is something that feels great to look after too.

I think that is motly it but i still have a couple questions that i hope some of you could answer

  • What do i need to access neferata? im sure having V Counts should suffice, but will having WH3 be enough?
  • possible release date? im mega hipped, thats it.

Whats the issue with these people who buy the DLC just to be negative, this guy didn't even open the game.

I get that you can dislike the content, but at least give it a try, i feel like this kind of people just repeat what youtubers and some part of reddit says. the 0hrs demonstrate that what he is saying is not his opinion formed from the game, but what other people told him he must think. Im sick of the brain dead negativity on this community, like this there are a couple other reviews with 0 or 30 mins of gameplay.

I've been playing rpg games making weird characters with the weird class for soo long that playing a human fighter has become interesting for me again. Especially with a commander type subclass.

Ive always liked to make wizards, necromancers, bards or if the games makes them interesting rogues because those classes tend to have more mechanics that keep the game interesting. But lately i found some love for the classic human warrior, especially if the game allows me to give them abilities to support the rest of the party while maintaining some martial strength.

In games you are usually the protagonist, the center of the story and it started to feel odd to have such a central character be hiding behind his friends, throwing arrows or some random spell. A protagonist also needs to be a leader who gets their friends forward and inspires them, in many games the rest of the party acknowledges that you are the one giving them orders, that's not the role of a barbarian or a regular fighter, that's the role of a commander. This is why the fighter who has support abilities themed around being a commander started to feel so good to me, it fits excellent into the role play, and the support part gives it a great complexity that's always fun to me.

My only issue is that there are so few games that allow this type of character that can fight and has speech or tactics themed support abilities, a paladin or a cleric does not fill this this niche for me because of the healing and the holy theme around them. Also this only applies if I'm playing a good or neutral character, with evil characters i always build a liche.

Im blocking yall until i finish the 1.0 game and i recommend many to do the same

Im extremely fucking hyped for this game, BUT, i will not play it until the 1.0 is out, so i can have the full experience and not face any extremely inmersion breaking "under construction sign". in the meantime i will consume 0 content related to subnautica to avoid spoilers and being remainded that the game exists, so i can handle the hype. If you are reading this i recomend you do the same, i have high hopes for this game and i want to have the full experience, not beta test.

The game on release will be unfinished and buggy and thats okay for an early access game, but in my opinion, early access is not for everyone and i think that is something most people are not aware of. I love both Subnautica and SBZ and a day before EA finnishes (lower price) i will give Krafton my money, but in the meantime, i dont know yall

Anyone knows any solution?, i love first person for inmersion and i think the interior of the vehicles are amazing, i have already tried poison resistance to better handle the alcohol but it doesnt work.
