Has anyone ever witnessed a potential driving test fail in the moment?

Was sat at the traffic lights at the Winchester Road/Teboura Way junction which is only a few minutes drive from the test centre when someone beeped their horn a few times before a learner car setting off (looked quite in a hurry). Then it became obvious who ever was driving was on exam (passenger wearing high-vis). Can only think they missed the green light which would of caused a major fault.

If you were driving a white car in Southampton on test today (Dacia?) and failed because of this you've got it for next time!

11th August: A heavy goods vehicle left the M3 motorway after crashing through the barriers and landing on the road beneath the small section of flyover. The driver died at the scene and it's not publicly known what caused the accident

A vehicle caught fire on the A31 in Hampshire, UK yesterday evening at 17:30. The fire then spread to nearby heathland in the New Forest affecting the equivalent of 140 football pitches. Over 20 vehicles were abandoned and the road remains closed until further notice.

Fire crews have been tackling the fire since yesterday evening, with multiple units still on scene. The A31 is the main corridor linking the South West to the South East and there is currently no estimate on when the road will be reopened. Smoke from the fire was visible across the Solent at it's peak, including me being able to smell it from Southampton City Centre. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cmq56755ve09t

M271 gridlocked out of city

Traffic lights on roundabout have failed causing traffic as far as just before Nursling on ramp at least. I was stuck there for nearly a full hour as a result

Police and Highways are in attendance. Police directing traffic

Avoid all roads linking to Chilworth Roundabout.

Some genius has decided to put up temp lights at the roundabout inevitably causing gridlock on Bassett Ave, M3 South off-ramp, and Bassett Green Road towards roundabout causing complete mayhem with queues at least a mile long. This has also shafted the No.1 even more than it was before-hand!

Avoid Lee Lane (back road from Nursling to Romsey)

Someone has fly tipped their rubbish, making it awkward for cars to get past, and impossible for any large vehicles to get through. In fact a coach had to reverse back half a mile because of this

Is waving down the bus a thing of the past?

My mind cannot comprehend the amount of people to stand at bus stops either on their phone or just standing there - especially when that stop serves multiple services so at times it's not clear at all to the driver if they want the the bus or not. It's happened a few times where I've slowed down to ppl on their phones not paying attention and as soon as they see the bus they jump out their skin!

We're told by our company to stop at all stops if there's people waiting, but at the same time common sense does go a long way!

Back when I was a kid, I used to flag the bus, so you'd think fully grown adults would be far more than capable. Being blunt if you fail to make it obvious you want the bus and miss it, then that is mostly on you.

How do you sniff out obvious BS sob stories from passengers who claim they can't pay? Do you let them travel anyway?

Pretty much when they claim they haven't got money, they lost their wallet, lost their pass or their phone is dead and they can't get their digital ticket?

I get that some cases may be genuine. For example I wouldn't deny an elderly or mentally incapacitated person because they dropped their concessionary bus pass somewhere, or leaving someone behind puts them in an awkward/vulnerable position (I.E lone female who's intoxicated and it's late at night), but then again there are circumstances where you need to draw a line.

Most companies leave the final decision down to the driver, and to manage situations as and when they come and that's what I do personally. For when you do refuse someone, in what way do you explain it and how would you take things if the passenger becomes aggressive?

Fucking kids!

Worst damage I've seen so far. Are they not fed at home and want to eat the seat backrests instead?

Good thing the mechanic had a spare backrest in his van as it may of been a VOR
