Ed Letting Them Have It

This was the first time I got to see Ed call someone out, I was not disappointed. Cutting him off with the whistle at the end is 🤌

Motor recommendation for Traxxas Slash 2wd

Hey guys,

I think I fried the motor of my Slash today (it sparks, smells burned, and something inside is slipping). While I'll try to check and open it up, I wanted to see if you guys have any recommendations for motors. I don't need anything crazy. I run 2S LiPos, durability is ten times more important than speed.

It's a slightly older Slash 2wd, bog standard ESC.

Audio fall-off in replays broken

So, this is bothering me for a while now, but playing around with the free cam with the new car pack, made me realise how much it actually bothers me.

The sound fall-off in replays is completely broken, which means that you can still hear the cars at a constant volume, even when they're miles away. To a certain degree it makes sense, race cars are loud after all, but in the game it's way too much. There's never a point of silence, ever, and what should be engine roaring in the background, becomes an annoying wall of noise.

The engine sounds in the game are amazing, and I like to watch the replays, but this legit sours the experience.

Just as side note: I've been at racetracks before and know how that sounds like.

Some fun speculation from yours truly about Nissan

Before people pile on me, and get mad, no, I don't have any insider information, nor do I think I'm insanely clever*. I just wanted to throw some ideas around, hear yours, and have some fun with it.

*I did predict Genesis over two years in advance, though.

With Alpine being forced to drop out, I could imagine a scenario were Nissan comes back. We all know, that BYD is "rumoured" to take over the Alpine operations, with a re-brand and new car for 2028. But with Renault/Alpine leaving motorsports and ICE engine development fully, I could see the Renault Group allowing Nissan to take the reins regarding motorsports.

Nissan is not doing too well right now, but an R35 successor and racing buzz might bring back some life into the brand. The GT-R LM debacle is far enough in the past, and Hypercar rules make everything a little easier and cheaper.

Also: The new LMP2 V6 will be co-developed by them.
