Road construction signs on Third Avenue - anyone have details?
There are road construction signs indicating to find an alternate route tomorrow, but not indicating where the construction actually is so that I can work my way around it. Anyone know?

We need to “scoot” the tub for a couple of days to do deck work.
I’ve watched all the usual PVC rolling videos, 2x8 runners etc, but they are usually for much longer moves.
Just wonder if anyone has any neat hacks/tips/methods I haven’t seen when it’s such a short and unobstructed move.
Thanks!
Seriously starstruck. I’m shot pool with Sean Penn, had drinks with Jack Nicholson, sipped beer 5 feet from Quentin Tarantino and sat in AA rooms with a comedian bigger than any of them (his drunk stories were GREAT). For some reason, I could just think of them as normal people. Dan Lauria on the otherhand?! I could barely hold my shit together. 🤯
I’m working on a series of crosstitch patterns. Mostly just for fun and practice.
I’ll be displaying/selling them at my local rock shop, and suspect will sell more if I produce the most popular crystals.
(I don’t actually think this will be a profitable endeavor. Mostly, I just want to do some quick stitching and practice designing, but don’t want them all around my house)
Currently have these two done and working on fluorite, rose and smokey quartz.
OPs dad is Mitch. He includes his loved ones, but also himself. The things he likes are other people on the list. What a sweet soul.
Anyone else find a superfine grit after using ahhsome?
Second purge, nothing really came out. Wiped shell and refilled. 8 week old tub.
When I got in it next there is a superfine grit coating everything below the waterline. It wipes off pretty easily. Thoughts?
2007 E85, xenon…
I noticed after replacing my bulbs that my right hand headlight shines quite a bit higher than my left hand.
Figured I just needed an adjustment and set about confirming the procedure.
I’m noticing on YouTube that many of the E 85s remain this way after adjustment. I did ask one of the video makers, and they surmised that (on left-hand drive car) is purposely designed that way so that you have a wider field of vision on the outside of the lane, where it is less likely to blind people.
Is this the way that yours functions? Or is it an error on my car and the part of the YouTubers?
Picture is from YouTube, not mine
Just had my condenser replaced and system charged. New to me car, to I don’t have past experience to compare it to
A couple of days it was 95° F, and cruising around with the top down the AC would only blow below ambient, but not what I would call very cold.
I figured it probably needed a top off or something, and I would call the mechanic later.
But then I got back to altitude, and at around 80° it blew VERY cold.
It occurs to me that recirculation is really not a thing with the top down, is there a point that it’s unrealistic to expect the system to keep up?
UPDATE: made an appointment to have the work double checked. It struggled all day today but then suddenly, at the hottest part of the day, it started blowing ICE cold. Anyone have thoughts on that?
It seems that all the slots in the mirror power are full. I assume all of these are necessary, is that true, or could two be opened up?
Where would be the next most obvious place?
Looking to buy in San Juan County. Farmington or Aztec most probably.
I live in on the border in Colorado, but I’m not buying here because of the current environment for landlords. (Along with cost of entry)
Is there anything particular I should know about New Mexico? For instance, stuff like a new Colorado law that limits underwriting for income to 2X, or utility passthroughs, rent control, etc?
Anything that’s particularly great, either?
Put the same ones on my BMW motorcycle 10 years ago. They are three dollar stickers, but the application is really clean.
Hi! I’m wondering if arthritis balls work by tension (ie, pressing into the finger, or by weight?
I have two rings, not actually very top heavy, that I would love to stop from rotating. My knuckles are wide, and my fingers are thin, le sigh.
I have obtained UV sizing gel (GREAT product, BTW), due to a lack of jeweler availability in my town.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t weigh very much. So if arthritis balls work on weight, I don’t think it’s going to work.
If I’m lucky, and they work on tension, what is the optimal placement on the band? When I’ve had them added with gold, it’s been about four and 6 o’clock, I’d say?
Thanks SO much!
We folks who have been around the block know this, I know. But for the newbies, you gotta do this!
The tubs get wet tested at the factory and then that water just sits in the pipes waiting to get to your home. That’s some nasty stuff, and these photos really really don’t do justice.
I know, you want to use your tub! I did too, I’ve waited years for one with these features and weeks after order. And I did. Go ahead, get in and enjoy it for a couple weeks. Stay on top of the sanitizer and it (probably) won’t hurt you. But don’t wait for your first recommended water change to clean it. Do it within a couple weeks.
I really didn’t expect to get this much out of it, honestly, I wasn’t even sure it needed to be done. But I am experiencing a super high chlorine demand, hopefully this nip it in the bud.
I hit a racoon 😭. TBD whether it damaged the A/C compressor or a line but things need to be repaired or replaced.
There’s not much out there (nothing?) for instructions on this, or my search skills are lacking, at least. Can anyone point to more information?
Also curious if people are going oem or aftermarket of similar quality on this. What aftermarket if so?
2007 3.0si automatic
Thanks!
2007 BMW Z4 3.0si automatic. 80k miles.
Whelp. I hit a racoon today, an albino one, too, crazy. And a mamma. Boo. But with 3” ground clearance that was enough to do in my radiator. But not my skid plate, so there’s that.
OEM is $560, O’Reilly/Murray is $155 and Napa is $235. Murray has limited lifetime warranty.
What is the effective difference between OEM and aftermarket? Does it matter? I’ve run eBay Chinese radiators on my dirt bikes to great success, but I was a little more willing to take the risk as they are exposed, and very easy to monitor.
The aftermarket both mentioned “multi fit” attachments, which I assume mean they’re a bit more of a pain in the ass to install, but $300 or $400 more dollars of a pain?
The aftermarket is so cheap, and saves trips in and out of town/days waiting so I’m thinking if those work I should not even bother considering radiator repair, as it can’t be that much less, can it? If there is some material difference in retaining OEM, should I consider this option? Damage seems to be a bent lower “frame”.
And what might I expect to pay in labor at an independent mechanic? Please express this in hours or dollars as you like. Ideally we will just do it at home, but my in-house mechanic is working at his real job 12 hours a day for the next 21 days, so I’m curious in case I get impatient.
Thank you thank you!
Basically, an April automatic payment didn’t happen. I didn’t catch it till May. And the bill had gone up.
So I paid it, and moved $22 into the category to do so. Then I edited my target for the new amount.
That means I need to have $130 by May 23. But YNAB is only calculating that I need $108 more by May 23 because I already put $22 in (which isn’t there anymore).
Is there a way to force it to show $130? If I switch to refill, it goes green and says I need no money, so that doesn’t work.
Normally, this would be a one month one bill thing that I could just tolerate. Problem is, I’m about to fall from a month ahead to 3 weeks ahead. So this is likely gonna happen to all my bill categories next month. I can keep track that I need $20 more in one category but I can’t keep track of every shortage in every category.
I’m not sure I explained that well. Hit me with questions.
(To clarify the “ahead” part: I don’t actually need this money by May 23, it’s for a June 23 bill.) I could just set all my bills to “by end of month” but I like the quick reference of date each bill is due, and the staying an actual month ahead. And even if I did change to end of month, I’ll still be in this pickle next month as I’m not going to be able to top of these categories for June bills until June 7 😭. But I should be able to catch up- i.e, have July 23rds bill by June 23rd)
Thank you!!!
Hopefully this is allowed. And I’m no expert on bicycle stuff, so maybe it is worthless. But I also feel like it has a chance of making someone’s day.
It seems to be a soft carrier for a bicycle. It is also 30% off today. So like $50.
One week old water, one week old tub.
Despite maintaining sanitizer levels, the water is cloudy. Did a little bit of digging here, and assuming water parameters are sound, that points to filtration.
When I got this tub, I confirmed the filtration cycle, see photos. On my last tub I would set this at six hours a day, but that tub was using the jet pump for filtration. I saw eight hours a day on this tub, and assumed I was OK. I kind of just assumed that was jet filtration and circulation pump automatically ran 24 hours a day.
But now I’m thinking/a lot of the internet is recommending that this setting should be 24 hours a day with a circulation pump? Is that what your understanding is? Am I reading the manual correctly that this this setting dictates the circulation pump schedule?
I’m going to clean the filters here shortly. Totally feasible they’re a bit dirtier than usual from startup.
Tub gets used two hours per day, almost every day.
Water parameters cause I know someone will ask: 4ppm chlorine/7.5pH/40alk/30CYA/101 degrees.
Hi!
My tub (J355) is equipped with smartub, but won’t connect to the app. I does connect to wifi.
Is cellular service required? Seems like it might be on the free trail version. I don’t have cellular service at the house. It appears there may be an option for wifi only @ $50 a year or something, but I can’t try it out first. Is my read on this correct? Who loves or finds the smartub app useless?
Secondly, why would I want to use clearray on demand? I understand the benefits of UV, but isn’t the automatic cycle enough (it does have an automatic cycle, doesn’t it?)
And what is ozone? Is it separate from the clearay? It is automatic, I assume?
finally, if any of you are a dichlor/bleach method people, it seems like clearay and/or ozone are not recommended? Can you confirm or deny?
