Japanese Variants? CGC Signature event - Snyder/Dragotta

I'm looking for advice and for others to share what they are sending in for the Absolute Batman signature event at CGC. I have done a lot of books in the past, and I'm torn on 1) keeping books raw or getting them signed, in general - I have a mix of both. Cover As full run. I have some Mann and Quintana variants, as well. I'm inclined for the already-signed Mann variants, but not Quintana - although I will take advice. 2) i just got two of the Japanese variants (Cover A GITD variant and Felix Dragotta), would you grade them raw or signed?

These are for my PC, and I go back and forth for what I want to hold onto and share with my kids versus the options to sell or trade if I ever want to go for another grail. So, I'm really surveying your personal preferences, and the reasoning. Thank you in advance for your help!

AB #1 9.9 Sold for $10,000?

I'm not sure what to think of this, but it has me re-evaluating holding onto my 9.9 1st print virgin foil. It was my first ever 9.9, and I thought I would never part with it, but It might be time to part with it.

Father (50)/Son (21) - Soho advice, please!

Hi - I am visiting London for work, which I do quarterly. This time, I get to take my 21yo son with me, and while I am busy most of the time, we have one full Saturday together.

Most of the day is going to be in Soho/Mayfair (watch and clothes/streetwear shopping).

The advice I need is for places that have a good/lively vibe and something his age group would like. For the evening, I am not at all opposed to someplace where he may even meet friends his age and wander off while I get an early night's sleep (we will have a whole day together prior). Preferably, all things are close or walking from Soho.

  1. Places to eat for lunch and dinner (currently have lunch reservation at Noble Rot) - he likes all kinds of food, but really likes a good scene or modern decor. For me, just good food.

  2. A nice cocktail place for before or after dinner, i can't say for sure, but I think there are some points for it being hip/trendy within the age group

  3. More controversial is that I would like to take him to a jazz/blues place, if there is a good suggestion. Live music, in general, is welcome, and he prefers hip-hop over my classic rock upbringing.

  4. What else should i do with him, if there's a must do activity?

Jock created my two favorite AB remarques

I had over 40 books sent to CGC SS for Dragotta, Snyder, Mann, DWJ, and Jock, and i just got them back. I also got a bunch of remarques, and every one of them was great.

Only Jock took my input, which was at each artist's discretion (as CGC reminds us all when we submit). He really did something great for a fan. I have to share how much i love both of these - he did exactly what I asked. Homage to Arkham Asylum and blood dripping down Absolute Batman. I am beyond thrilled.

CGC Jim Lee, remarque? Sig? Advice

I have a Jim Lee AB #1 Variant, and I'm debating getting a remarque for my PC. However, I still want advice on value, and if anyone has helpful input on holding value with a Lee remarque on this book, please let me know. If consensus is a bad investment, I may still get it, or I may get a signature. I already have dragotta and Snyder on the first two copies (card and foil) when I bought these three at release. For this thought experiment, let's assume it's 9.8, and the costs are > $500 for a remarque and $150 for a signature. Thank you for your help!

Dan Quintana - worth JSA and grading? Sigs and remarques?

I notice that Dan Quintana's hype is dying down, but there are some gorgeous covers and cool signatures out there. I have a few, and I am debating whether to get them pressed and graded. They seem to go high raw, and I have a small handful of duplicates that I am considering selling. Before I pull that trigger - any insights on whether the JSA authentication and CGC grade is worth it? I know remarques run the risk of devaluing the books, but assuming that the grade stays high, any thoughts on to grade/authenticate or not to?

[SOTC] I feel like it's time for something new, any advice?

I feel like it's time to get a new watch, and I'm seeking advice. I've been debating a few styles, but I'm not sure where to go next. If you're willing to share, I'm very willing to hear it. Boston to Switzerland - experiences and worth trying?

Hi all, my mother has asked me to take her to Switzerland for her 80th birthday, and my best status and benefits are on delta - Platinum for now, and may be Diamond by then. We are leaving late July, and then I need to take us back through London. Departure is from Boston. She doesn't care which part of Switzerland, the country is just on her list of experiences she wishes she has. Any advice or suggestions? There's nothing direct, so should i just try another airline to get there? i can take heathrow to Boston on the last leg, easily, but i'd like to get her to use the lounge and relax - given that she's elderly - so i'm leaning to delta.

Hot take? Variant greed is creating fatigue

I don't know about you, but after all the Megacon hype, Quintana fiasco, whatnot craziness, and general over production of variants, for me the joy of Absolute Batman is succumbing to cover competition (for premium payment) that is so noisy that the signal is becoming less interesting. It's hard not to see new characters as gimmicks, instead of authentic story additions - reasons to do new cover reveals.

These are the covers for AB20 alone.

The solution isn't hard, I know. Just buy A, and read. But I'm reaching a point where I doubt the integrity of story choices.

The damage to #20 A covers didn't bother me because I wanted to just read it, but now I'm wondering if I'm just going to wait for the library to get the tpb or get it myself. I can use a break.

I'm the scheme of things, this is an incredibly unimportant point, but I do have a lot of love for this title. What's your view?

Hi - I am using my glasses all the time, and I would like input on an app i am building in Claude Code (I do not know how to code, but have been successful with Claude).

In short, I use these exclusively for work - I want it to do a few things, but I want to know what other executives/professionals would want. Here are things I am coding, but I REALLY want to hear from you what you think the glasses could do better to make life more efficient.

  1. Investor CRM automatic updates (e.g. conversate sent directly to my ai-governed CRM to update it).

  2. Read full text and email messages

  3. Auto reply to messages with a set of pre-loaded message (mostly for text for things like "Got it" "On my way" etc.

  4. Interface with my ai assistant (also built in claude code, which mostly triages emails, needs my permission to schedule meetings, and drafts emails for my approval, as well as summarize my day and flags high priority events/deadlines - this one is a little more tricky because this hosted locally for security purposes, so it may or may not happen, but there are ways to manage it safely.

What I really want, though, is your opinion on functions that would increase efficiency. I would like to generate a product reqs doc before starting.
