Prevailing wage to private

Owner wanted to do more private commercial work and take a break from the government-state jobs that pay the workers good.

Out of the 20 or so bids we did we didn’t get a single one. We were only doing 5% for overhead and not even like that we got these jobs.. We did bids for the big coffee shops to innout to stores. I passed by a couple and they have these contractors with these handy mans doing the work, no Ppe etc.

I told the owner stay with the Gov PW jobs but no he wanted to “ explore “… im not sure how yall are doing it with the commercial jobs man im in southern California and its rough on the private side.

CG reserve schooling

Stupid question so i understand if i get laughed at but as a reservist would i be able to do anything type of aviation school? I know the cap is 4,500 a year.
Im looking at Hems aviation as a career.
Would y’all recommend going AD and then eventually applying?

At what point do you tell the owner that you need a full time estimator and sales person? Is there a certain criteria you follow? Or a certain dollar amount per month- year?

My team is getting burnt out…

We are high end residential but also heavy civil.
