let me preface this by saying that i understand not everyone in this world is evil and i am not shaming anyone in here that may own a pair of these glasses, even if i don’t particularly agree with them.

i’m feeling incredibly uncomfortable by these glasses and it’s become a new pattern for me to look for people who may be wearing them in the public spaces i’m in. i have seen videos of people discussing extreme situations, like doctors wearing them when meeting with patients. this makes me both uncomfortable and angry, because this shouldn’t even be allowed in a medical setting.

while i’m sure it’s easy for some people to just say “well we always had phones and anyone can record you in public.” i don’t feel that this is the same thing at all. when someone has a phone out and is recording someone, it’s usually a lot easier to tell. meta glasses can look like any other pair of glasses that someone is wearing, so you won’t always be able to tell when someone is recording you!

the way i see it, these glasses are going to be a creepy persons dream. it’s giving them the capability to be a creep in public and go completely unnoticed. as a woman, i feel my guard is up and i feel less safe.

is anyone else feeling upset by this / has it become anyone else’s compulsion to look for people wearing glasses that may be meta glasses?

I don’t eat much meat, just chicken. I have an a1c of 5.8 and really need to get it down in 3 months. Please recommend me some food for picky eaters that include chicken!

I feel silly asking this, but I grew up loving this character. They stopped putting him on the cereal boxes, he was no longer seen in commercials, and you will never find him on any current merchandise! This change apparently happened in 2020, with Apple Jacks first removing his dreads. They now have a more generic cartoon logo and both characters look different.

When you look up the change, it is said that Cinna-Mon was an offensive character that plays on racial stereotypes. However, I don’t see many Jamaican people speaking on this anywhere. It’s mainly White people. I would love to hear what Jamaican people thought of this character. Did you find him offensive? Or Did you like this character and felt sad to see him go?

i am stuck between the two currently and would love to hear everyone’s experiences with these two!

does anyone have advice for combining these two aesthetics for a bedroom? i love both of these styles so much and i am very curious how i could possibly implement both!

I recently saw a video come up on my TikTok FYP of a young woman who was currently visiting China. In her video she went out late at night to explore and decided to go for a massage. One of the massages was an ear massage that featured a feather. After her massage she also passed a different place where a woman was getting her ears cleaned. I am from the U.S., so I have never seen anything like this, other than ear cleaning from doctor’s offices.

My question is, are the people who do the massages and cleanings trained/certified? I am very curious about this because it’s new to me and it seemed both interesting and relaxing. I saw very few places offering it near me in the states. If you have personally tried it, is it considered safe? I would love to hear from anyone that’s tried it! I saw a lot of mixed opinions when I googled if it was safe or not, so this seemed like a better place to get opinions.

did anyone else’s order just not ship yet? i’ve been feeling so impatient seeing everyone else’s new jellies being posted. i ordered literally the minute early access opened, yet my order is still in “preparing shipment.”

the drop is happening tomorrow morning and it honestly feels like early access felt pointless for me this time around. my order will just ship with everyone else’s who buy tomorrow, so that doesn’t really feel like early access to me :/

for context, i’ve had depop since i was like 13 years old if i had to guess. i’m 25 now and still love selling on the app and occasionally buying from sellers as well. i’ve sold a lot of clothing over the years, mainly music merch and some collectibles (i.e. posters and jewelry). whenever i wasn’t interested in certain artists or bands anymore i would sell my collection to buy whatever i was into currently.

i’m currently working for free for an internship for my masters program, you need to complete a certain amount of hours and it’s unpaid for a year. many of my classmates and i had to quit our jobs to really focus. i just don’t have time to work and focus on my program, unless i want to fall behind and fail. when i’m not working for this new place i am writing papers. many people will of course say i could work nights, but i need to sleep. i dont think that i personally could handle it mentally honestly. i wish i was someone who could do that, but i’m just not. i’m very blessed and was able to move back with my mom for a while. however, never having money anymore is getting to me because i was someone who always had a job. i don’t like asking for things that aren’t necessities, so it would be nice to buy things just for fun once in a while with my own money again. i have a lot of hobbies and it sucks not being able to afford the things that make you happy.

overall, i am curious to hear what else i could try to sell on depop that’s popular right now. does anyone have any recommendations of things i could try to sell that has worked for you? i’m very crafty and could definitely make things. i would love to hear what’s working for others!
