Best neighborhood to get to midtown and have a car as early 30s M?

Thinking about moving next year when I start work but kinda wanna bring my car to nyc. What’s the best neighborhood, considering price and vibes, where I can easily get to midtown and have my car around no issue? I would prefer not to be in Manhattan for price issues (parking and insurance). I was thinking Astoria would be a good option. Let me know if you got any recommendations.

edit: Lmao yall are assholes. I ALREADY LIVE HERE.

edit2: Actually remarkably funny how xenophobic you all are despite statistics saying you lean heavily left

Visiting for the week and wanna get a proper southern breakfast

Title tells most of the story. I want to go to a place that has real classic southern food. Not some upscale brunch that cares more about vibes and presentation. I wanna be surrounded by old southerners and get served a heaping serving of biscuits and gravy. Let me know if there are some good places like this (or any other recommendations)

I have a rare opportunity and I want to hear from the horses mouth how bad it is.

I have an offer in hand for big law and I have the freedom to pick any office I like with the same salary regardless (my practice is exclusively federal). I’m strongly leaning New York right now despite my age (early 30s) but what I am really worried about is not the money. I’m worried about how much I am gonna fucking hate my life when I bill 100 hours a week AND have to live in a shoebox in queens/BK. Importantly, my firm has a very strong WFH policy so I will lean on that fairly hard.

NYC big law attorneys, how bad is it really? How much am I gonna regret choosing the nyc lifestyle over the money?

My barber got deported and now I need recommendations

I desperately need a haircut until she’s hopefully back. Any recommendations on what barbershop to try? Specifically, I’m looking for a scissor cut and potentially some layering. Salon recommendations accepted too I guess

Looking for stylish sneakers that are durable and great for significant walking

Title says it all for the most part. I do a lot of walking and want my sneakers to still look good (and ideally break the bank). I’ve been rocking some 9060s but I’m wondering what other options you guys think are worth it

This question has been asked but I am in total indecision land right now. Need help deciding between NYC and Philly for job offer.

Title explains most of the story. I am a 30M and single as fuck. I’ve lived in nyc for two years now after living in Philly for 7. My job will not depend on where I sit in any which way, my salary will be identical and so will the work. Most of my family barring my siblings are around Philadelphia whereas two siblings are moving to NYC. I love both cities and am truly at a crossroads deciding because my decision comes with what is essentially a five year commitment to that city. If any single people in their thirties have advice I would greatly appreciate it. I fear the wrong decision here will have shockwaves on my future.

TLDR: I cannot decide between NYC and Philly despite an identical job prospect and pressure to live near family.

Weed has contributed to me becoming antisocial when sober?

Hi all. I’ve been smoking very consistently for almost 12 years now (and very aggressively over the past year) and I am wondering if anyone has experiences with weed making them antisocial. I’m a bit of an introvert but I do like being out and hopefully meeting people I’m interested in.

That being said I feel like my consistent pot use has turned me into a complete coward in social situations. I’m terrified to make the first move I’m slow to react to statements and I’ve even noticed some issues with my pronunciation. Has anyone seen these effects go away after stopping? I think it’s time to shut this door at least for a bit because pot is keeping me stuck in a dastardly loop and I want a fulfilling social/dating life for once. I’m hoping a semi or permanent break will fix my social battery and social habits/vibe. Any advice is appreciated.

Help deciding on a course of action

Alright so I’m going into my final year of grad school. My roommate and I completely got outbid for our current spot so I gotta move considering my roommate will fuck off home and wait until the market cools down.

The market is obviously fucked but my hands are tied and I’m in a catch 22. My options are essentially two fold, 1) 1 bed or studio in a good/fun neighborhood that gets to nyu easily or 2) move in w my buddy in LIC. I do not understand the appeal of LIC besides good transit but I also don’t wanna sacrifice what is potentially my last year in nyc to a mid neighborhood.

For reference I’m late 20s, single, and not really looking for an apartment that isn’t surrounded by things to do. I also don’t wanna live somewhere it’s hard to convince people to come to. Any comments or suggestions are more than welcome bc my move out is in 20 days.

Where’s everyone watching the US game tomorrow?

Wish I was hitting the fanfest but didn’t have the forethought to reserve tickets. Same result with brauhaus. What are the best potential alternatives if I wanna get a little rowdy?

One month of the World Cup left, where are your favorite places to watch so far?

Ducked Fado yesterday because fox 29 was there but rocked with it a lot last WC. Lions looks decent but seems super small. Where are you all watching so far?
