Anne Hathaway Was a Skank in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’
youtu.beSome thoughts on Drake’s pen
I’ve always felt that, if Drake gets help writing his more lyrical songs, the help is coming from rappers we already know. I base that on the fact Eazy, Dre, Diddy and Kanye (the four biggest “rappers” we knew had help before Drizzy’s Quentin Miller scandal) all had ghostwriters who were renowned emcees. Eazy had Cube, Ren and DOC writing for him; Dre had help from those same three cats, plus Snoop, Eminem and even Jay-Z that one time. Diddy had Biggie, Ma$e, Jadakiss, etc. Kanye had Rhymefest, Consequence and Pusha T.
Basically, you can’t write the kind of high-level bars those guys spit unless you yourself are an amazing lyricist that the public knows about. That’s why I always figured that, while Drake got help from guys like Quentin and Yachty on some of his more melodic stuff, he’s probably writing his more lyrical songs either by himself, or with help from known wordsmiths working in the shadows.
Thoughts?
The Nets might be the real winners of the draft lottery
I look at it like this: based on current roster construction, none of the top-five teams have a need for a lead guard who’s going to dominate the ball. The Wizards have Trae; the Jazz have George; the Grizzlies have Ja (more on him in a second); the Bulls have Giddey and should see what they have in Dillingham; and the Clippers have Garland.
What that means is that, assuming the Grizz don’t decide to move off of Ja (if I were them I’d take Caleb Wilson, who should be even better than Jaren Jackson Jr. was for them), Darius Acuff Jr. could fall to the Nets at six. I view Acuff as a top-two player in the class (along with Dybansta); I think he’s going to be fantastic, and may have the highest ceiling, pound-for-pound, of any of the prospects. It would be the definition of a high-value pick: somebody who arguably could’ve gone No. 1 with the right fit falling to you five spots later.
