Overnight kit

Going to invest in some better layers for long overnight trips and in general adverse weather runs. This is the list I’ve compiled so far for a 2ish pound set of layers that will carry me through most weather here in the Midwest.

Patagonia Men’s Capilene Midweight Zip-Neck Top

Patagonia Men’s Capilene Midweight Bottoms

Patagonia Men’s R1 Air Zip-Neck Fleece Pullover

Mountain Hardwear Men’s Ghost Whisperer Jacket (hoodless)

Rab Men’s Phantom Waterproof Jacket (full zip)

Outdoor Research Men’s Vigor Lightweight Sensor Gloves

Outdoor Research Vigor Grid Fleece Beanie

Getting ready to order all of this to pack into a do it all 3 season kit. Any thoughts? This is about 800 bucks and I’d really like to keep it within that range.

[build help] What muzzle devices are you guys using for 5.56 guns?

I don’t really see a need for a suppressor in PVE but I could be wrong. Unless it’s the best for recoil.

Hi standard sentinel grip adapter.

Anybody have a high standard sentinel and a bunch of different grip adapters they want to test out in it?? I have a sentinel and need the grip adapter to shoot correctly due to a disability with my hand so would like to figure something out.

What do we think of H trees??

I know there’s a huge following around them but to me they seem even harder to verify than stone tools. There’s a few alleged examples here in central Missouri but I’m having a hard time believing they are legit. Native American presence in the area was pretty much wiped out by the early 1800s. That would put these trees at the top of their normal lifespan and they aren’t exceptionally huge or old looking. 300 + year old trees are pretty remarkable and not easily glanced over.

What would you call this type of work?

What would you call someone who’s meeting with clients, listening to the workflow they to want to improve, and then finding the best solution for it. These solutions are typically an app, often times using tools like power apps. This person is understanding the industry, the specific issue, and developing a solution. They then develop a software based tool to solve the problem, test the solution, present it to the client, and make adjustments until they have a production ready solution. I’m honestly just curious if the industry has a name for this role, or if this is just kind of a hybrid of already existing roles. It doesn’t seem to fit into any one specific role that I know of.

Just pulled this out of the closet

I got this gun as a teenager. I shot it a few times and could never hit the broadside of a barn with it. Going to try a variety of ammo tomorrow and see if it shoots good. I would love to have it shooting good as it’s a very handy rifle.

Did miller high life change recently???

I grabbed a 6 pack of the 16oz cans for old times sake and my god this is an excellent beer for 7 dollars for all 6. I’ve had it within the last year I feel like and it was still the same old lackluster cheap beers but this tastes different.

Edit to add: poop man cometh

Pretty sure I just got a green batch and I happen to like the malty taste of the unfermented sugars

Is this a realistic timeline??

I’d like to put my first coat of mud and tape on today, 2nd coat early tommorrow morning if it’s dry enough, third coat late tommorrow night, and then get up and paint Thursday morning? It’s a 12 x11 room and I’ve never mud and taped a whole room by myself before but I am typically a fastish worker

Update: this is an interior office addition I need done in a certain amount of time so I can move equipment into it on a certain date. To save time I have decided to use inside corner moulding and outside corner trim. The only mudding being done is flat joints and screws. I used mesh tape and everything is taped and the first coat is on. I’m pretty confident I’ll be able to sand as soon as I get up in the morning. I have fans going and RH dropped below 50% but temps are staying high above 75 degrees. I’m not actually concerned about how it looks to be totally honest but it needs to be presentable enough for teams meetings.

First and only time mud and tape tips.

I’ve hung drywall before, so no worries there. I just framed up an office addition yesterday and I have to get it done this week and thus will not have time to wait for anyone. I’m going to mud and tape it myself(first time) but have no intentions of ever doing a mud and tape job again. Any tips for a first timer to make it easier? I’ve seen like the fibatape and tape less mud some guys say make it easier if you’ve never mud and taped before. Thanks for any help.

Can’t get ruger Blackhawk to shoot good.

I have a 1974 new model in pretty good shape. It shot well enough with PRVI 38 special but I wasn’t exactly testing it for accuracy. I bought two boxes of PMC bronze 158 grain JSP 357 as my hunting load and this thing can’t hit the broadside of a barn. Anyone else had this issue with this ammo? Or do I need to sit down on a large target and just fine tune it? It was hitting point of aim with 158 38 specials.

Does this seem fair?

Brand new homemade with title, 16 foot long dual 3500 pound axles (7kw) for 2500. Going to go pull it down the highway and make sure it’s not squirrelly.

Looking for a good 357 mag load.

I’m somewhat inexperienced, I used to reload with my dad a lot when I was a kid but haven’t in probably 15 years. I have all the equipment so that won’t be an issue, but I will buy some new brass, powder, primers, bullets for this. I just got my first big single action revolver. 1974 ruger new model Blackhawk. I want an economical yet effective hand load I won’t feel bad about plinking with but also won’t hesitate to shoot a deer with if need be as this will be my sidearm during hunting season and my weapon of choice for our alternative methods season.

Alright so I need some suggestions and I’ve tried every resource I can find and I’m running out of anime.

I love anime with PMCs, military, mercenary’s, criminals, etc… favorites include black lagoon, jormungand, psycho pass, gangsta, 91 days… etc. so I like crime, private eyes, cops, renegade cops, rebellious detectives, pmcs, mercenaries, washed up soldiers, alcoholics… etc…. Who’s got solid reccs???

Edit to add, it’s not an anime but one of my other favorite pieces of animated media is Archer for context.

Want the opinion of the hive mind on this

I am a relatively new grad with no luck finding a degree specific job. I interviewed several times at the biggest company providing tech jobs in my area and almost secured an offer but ultimately it didn’t work out. They ended up offering me a position in a non degree specific department but are well known for allowing employees with certain degrees to move towards a more degree specific career later on. (Like within a year, I know of several people who have done exactly this)

While in this process I somewhat randomly received an offer from sort of a tech start up doing software development and implementation for a variety of customers on a contract basis ( company does contract work however I would salaried).

Job 1: local staple for tech jobs, however they are international. Lower pay but absolutely top tier benefits and tons of upwards mobility. Completely onsite with a decent but less flexible schedule. Non -degree specific position to start.

Job 2: fairly new and small company. Salaried position with no set hours, remote, more money than job 1 but not necessarily double or anything like that. Benefits are fine but not amazing like job 1. Degree specific work.

Do I need a reality check or is this extremely high??

Had a friend reach out to me because they know I used to do siding. They got a quote for 17 square of vinyl siding replacement (actual is 15.51) on a single story ranch style home. They are going from Dutch lap to board and batten. There first quote was around 13 grand for siding, and 7 grand for soffit and fascia +600 dollars per window in labor for a customer supplied window.

I haven’t bid a siding job like this before but ive been a part of plenty and I kind of figured up a little under 10k for siding 3k for soffit and fascia and maybe 150 bucks per window for install. I did not want to take this on as a side job so I encouraged them to get more quotes but I hope I’m not leading them astray.

Mossberg 500 factory 20 inch vent rib.

Anyone else have one of these? It’s my first shotgun (non bird hunting) and Its got an improved cylinder choke. I’m keeping it loaded with #4 buck for general farm use.
