title. as my first semester approaches i want to be sure i have a good and balanced list. i royally screwed up this step in first year admissions and would appreciate some help 🙂

my hs stats

• 1370 sat
• 3.8~ UW gpa (my school wont give me my transcript)
• pretty random ecs
  • theater
  • swim
  • robotics
  • etc

other info

• undecided (so i want somewhere where i can double major)
  • currently thinking about design, systems engineering, marketing, and anthropology
• aid seeking
• ecs ive done since applying
  • volunteering regularly at a food bank
  • part time job
  • research
• ecs im planning on doing in college
  • club swim
  • circle k international (or something similar)
  • hillel (or something similar)
• i would prefer somewhere urban and in the northeast

my list as of right now

1. penn (deferred -> rejected last year)
2. uva (waitlisted last year)
3. temple or pitt

i rlly dont want to come across as whiny and stuff but how long does it usually take for people at this school to respond to emails? i sent an email to admissions a couple weeks ago, and they got back to me after a few days saying they forwarded my questions to someone else, but since then ive gotten nothing. is this normal? should i follow up with admissions again or try someone new?

basically title, but i will not be retaking the SAT and want to know if its still worth it to apply. i have a 1370, which i know is below average for t25s, but im unhappy with my current institution for a variety of reasons, and this is before ive even moved in. im hoping to make up for it with ECs and grades, but if im an automatic no for some schools ill take them off my list. thank you.

why does everyone at this school suck ass at communicating.

im trying to change my major before the year starts and everyone i email either gives me 0 information or doesnt respond. ive been in contact with my academic advisor all summer and suddenly they went silent on me. i emailed enroll and they just forwarded me to the website which is outdated and doesnt have the information i asked them for. i emailed my schools admissions TWICE and have gotten no response. no idea who else to contact.

just to get to the point, the school im attending is in the same city as a t25 on my list. would it help my chances if i tried to get involved with that school, or should i stick to mostly doing stuff at my current one?

also how many ecs should i aim for on my list? and should i combine college and high school ecs if theyre similar? (for example im joining a club team at my college and its the same sport i did in high school)

im an incoming freshman and wanted to ask about penn and drexels relationship

i know we get access to their library and busses, but what about other things? im interested in participating in stuff on their campus like the netter center and museum stuff.

and do the students interact much? i heard we go to their parties but is there anything official?

i signed up for welcome week because its mandatory but how much to i actually have to do. i have 2 scholarship group meetings and thats the only thing i care about going to because i need the money. no idea what to expect for the rest but im not interested in participating.

edit: i had no idea my disinterest in friends would make other people upset. you guys know it only affects me not you, right?

i just ate an entire kiwi and my tongue hurts like i just ate too many sour skittles. i ate kiwi for the first time a few months ago and i was fine, but this is my first time trying since then. also that one was cooked.

google and reddit had mixed results on whether it was the kiwis self defense mechanism or an allergy. im not allergic to pineapple or latex.

i spent like my whole childhood thinking id be a programmer, but once ai killed that dream i moved onto ux design, but its looking like ais killing that too.

im committed to university for ux design and i cant change it before school starts for some reason. my main priority is making money doing what i love and not sacrificing my morals. not very realistic but i like to think im pretty optimistic.

the only issue is that im going to transfer universities after freshman year, so i need to make sure my credits from this year will transfer into whatever i pick next. the requirements for my current major are really strict and random, and i cant pick my fall schedule, so ill likely be using my winter and spring quarter to do electives in gen-eds.

my academic interests are history, math, art, and language

majors im currently thinking about (i want to do 2+a minor ideally, but thats hard at some universities):

• design (more broad than just ux so i wont get trapped)
• marketing
• anthropology

are any of these good ideas in todays job market? are there any im overlooking? any advice is appreciated.

ive had an idea for a game in my head for about a month and wanted to try and make it. i own rpg maker xp from when it was free on steam, but havent really used it yet. i made a few rpg maker games when i was in middle school using multiple free trials of vx ace but thats the extent of my game making experience.

i want it to be like the classic rpg maker horror (most similar to ao oni probably due to the engine). basically no traditional rpg stuff like random encounters, just story and monster chases. id probably use custom sprites and try to do a bit of ui work. would the engine work for that kind of stuff?

im a teenager searching for my first job and saw a position posted 9 hours ago (at the time of applying) on linkedin i thought id be perfect for. its basically a paid version of what ive been volunteering doing for 3 years. i submitted all my stuff and got an email back 15 minutes later saying the position was closed since they were no longer hiring, but its still up on linkedin and their site.

should i reach out to see if it was an error? or just for demonstrated interest? my parents said it could be something about internal hiring and laws surrounding that, but i wanted to ask anyways since i think im a good fit (and have applied to like 30 places since the end of june, im tired of this).

im living in a suite in north hall, so i have my own bathroom. do i still need to buy shower shoes?

im prefrosh but already decided to transfer out of the school im going to. i regret the major i chose, but also i still dont really know what i want to do. i dont think i can change it until i finish my first quarter (which either way seems like a bad idea from a transcript review standpoint).

penn doesnt require students to declare until spring of sophomore year, and even then junior transfers are given some leeway. i wanted to know if there were any other schools like this where transfers dont have to declare a major. OR its very easy to switch.
