Who should I cosplay with this as a base?

Im being taken to animecon in about a month as a surprise gift, and as such, I have no cosplay ready. I want to cosplay someone, but I'm drawing a blank on who...I think I could make a lot of cosplays using this dress as a base. Any suggestions?

Do all parents police clothing like this?

So, I'm 17f. I currently have like...sort of a bikini, but it's a very covering sports bra type thing, and shorts. I want to trade the sports bra out for a bikini top, because it's too big and awkward and just looks bad. My mother says I'd get too much attention, but I really don't get it. I'm with my family every time we swim, it'd still be covering, and it's not like I'm much of a looker. I just want comfort and style. She also doesn't let me wear some summer type clothes or shoes, saying they're 'too sexy' and will get me attention I can't handle yet, even if we're just going to a museum outdoors. I am not a hot babe 😭 im not gonna draw in the men with a hint of my 'long sexy legs'

Is it fair that my mother is getting a driving permit before me?

She's about 50. Im 17. I keep asking for one because I start college soon, and it's not bikeable distance.she said she'll get me lessons when I turn 19, but even so, im told to go do things id need a car for. She insists she'll drive me, but shes failed her permit thingie like 3 times, and I want to be able to go out and go to the gym, get a job, etc. she's currently in driving school and im upset because she's comparing me to my cousin who goes out and does things, but he has a car to do those things. I have my bike, but I live in a place with a lot of 'main roads' that are hard to bike across without significant danger

some cool things I noticed or am curious about

During the start, when clark finds the throne room, there are two pairs of shoes sunken into the ground. Later, when he brings Bobby and Kat in, we see that the shoes they're wearing are the same ones in the floor.

Captain clark has a big ass shoe attached to his back, because even though he has a peg leg, clark wore both shoes as well as the peg leg in his costume, so the other shoe kinda just needed somewhere to be.

Clark had no issue immediately untying Mary, but he seemed to have great difficulty with Bobby.

honestly very glad Clark's cosplay didn't include the sword from the sign because I feel like that could be monumentally more dangerous

At the start, in the opening scene, we see that the seagull came in through the ceiling. Does that mean the ceiling entrance to the backrooms is close by? I assume it's on the pavement somewhere, cause the leaves...

I'll add more thoughts when I remember

STOP BRINGING YOUR DAMN KIDS

I don't know why this is happening, but parents are bringing 10 year olds cause they see backrooms and think like 'durrr kid friendly durr'

I had a bunch of 10-14 year olds in my theater(im 17) and they were like...playing on their phones, whispering, talking, crinkling wrappers the whole time...they kept leaving the theater and running back but they brought all their stuff each time, and they were front row so it was annoying af.

also, a bunch of little kids were actively crying when blood started happening. .. like please stop bringing your children this is an R movie for a reason

I'm not recovering right, am I?

I mean I'm healing at a wonderful pace, no pain or infection, got 3 taken out 5 days ago, then later that same surgery day had chicken lo mein and wontons, and then I proceeded to eat a lot of foods that decidedly....were not the safest...and I'm absolutely fine even now on day five. ...am I going to dentist hell?

(Included note: they did 3 not 4 teeth because under sedation I began screaming and crying and kicking, despite normal vitals and no pain)

What should I study this summer?

I finished high school a week or so ago. I start college in the fall, where I will be taking an introduction to engineering, then go on to a university for my bachelor's in industrial engineering.

However, im..sort of blind on what to study. I know I should be practicing topics over the summer, and I want to, but I have no clue where to start or what I will and wont need.

Aitah if I got upset over not getting tangible birthday gifts?

I, 16f, turn 17 in four days. My mother called me in to her room today, and told me that this year I would not be getting tangible birthday gifts, but instead stuff like driving lessons or dance lessons.

Driving lessons are well and good, but I'm a little upset. I don't do sports like that, and I can't think of anything that I'd want that's not tangible. I feel ungrateful and greedy for being sad over this, but it's just so sudden. Aitah?

Edit: some of you guys are extremely rude have I ever said I'm not grateful for the driving lessons??? why are you all so quick to insult someone for being a little sad they dont get something to hold? Im incredibly grateful but she was gonna get me driving lessons this fall regardless of my birthday. I'm allowed to have feelings without being insulted for it.

Editx2: my father is dead. so my mother usually gets me something extra that he'd get me every year. I'm not being ungrateful, I'm plenty grateful, I'm just a little sad.

I didn't. I was just an eight year old. She asked me to pick her up, so, like I always did, I wrapped arms around her waist/low chest in a hug and lifted her. She laughed and stuff, and I laughed, and we both went off to do fun party things.

Her mom called me over later. She had me sit in the bathroom, and told me what I 'did', that I touched her daughters privates.

I was crying pretty hard by then, and I was, like, ultra confused.

That situation still kind of affects me to this day. Anxiety and all that.

it hurt a lot back then. i left the party confused and crying because I didn't even know what I did.
