I’ve been dealing with mysterious miscellaneous pelvic floor issues for the past 3 years, and have usually only been able to pass a bowel moment in the morning soon after I wake up, even if I haven’t fully relieved myself (which is very frequently) and feel I have to go again during the day, I more often then not can’t. It’s incredibly frustrating and leaves me feeling totally backed up. Has anyone else experienced this?

I’ve had a couple folks on here tell me that symptoms I’ve described sound like symptoms of a pelvic organ prolapse such as a rectocele or enterocele. I’m curious as to what the experience of people who have been diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse has been, like what symptoms led you to finding out this was the problem. I’m trying to compare and contrast stories to my own in hopes of receiving a diagnosis and actually getting better because it’s been 3 years since I’ve felt normal and this stupid illness is slowly taking control of my life.

I’ve been struggling with incredibly chronic incomplete evacuation and bloating for 3 years now to pretty much no avail. My gastro recommended PT, I did PT, no relief(granted I was not seeing a specialist and the physical therapist was a bit lost at times). I don’t doubt PT could help, but have no clue where to find a specialist ESPECIALLY one that’s in network considering paying out of pocket could easily cost thousands of dollars that I don’t have. My gastro is sweet, but I feel like is dismissive and also doesn’t fully understand what to do with me. I was on linzess for about 2 years, and recently switched to motegrity which is even worse then linzess was. I definitely see my problem getting worse, it’s getting even difficult to pass gas now, let alone completely evacuate. I sit on the toilet for at least an hour every day because I literally cannot have a bowel movement if I don’t , and depending on how much I was able to get out, it often leads to me literally being unable to do anything for the rest of the day. I’ve been taking a senna tablet before bed every night which has been kind of hit or miss but better then nothing, however I worry about the amount of stimulant laxitives I’ve been taking, especially because I’ve been unable to evacuate at all after taking miralax despite the actual consistency of the stool being incredibly liquid. So yeah to cut to the point, does anyone have any recommendations for gastros in nyc or pelvic floor pts in nyc? Or does anyone have a similar situation and has advice of tricks for what worked for you?

Hiiii! I’m moving in to an apartment with semi limited space, and I really want to take up pole dancing as I was a gymnast for years and need a new sport to keep me in shape. I’ve taken an intro level class and loved it but it’s too expensive for me to buy a membership to a studio. Does anyone have any recommendations for a renter friendly pole that’s easy to install and cost effective?

I’m currently about to enter my second year of undergraduate as an international studies major on a pre law track in the USA, I’m more and more nervous about the state of our country every day, and I’m starting to look in to possible employment opportunities abroad so that I could leave. I know I’m planning way ahead and I need to finish school first, but I know it’s something I’m seriously considering in order to escape this corrupt administration and honestly corrupt country. The school I’m attending is a small public liberal arts school, and although it’s reputable in my state, it’s not very prestigious and I worry about finding international employment without a flashy name on my degree. Does anyone have any idea about what kind of work I might be able to do in other countries in order to leave the US?

My parents divorced when I was about 14, it was super messy and crazy and my dad fought my mom tooth and nail trying to convince her not to divorce him. I’m now 18, and due to financial challenges, my mom sold my childhood home and we’re moving. I know this is a common thing to happen after a divorce, but I’m really having trouble accepting it. I’ve always struggled with change and even though my parents divorce was definitely a good thing, it still brought me peace of mind that even though their relationship was changing my house wasn’t and now I don’t even have that. I guess I’m just looking for some perspective or advice to cheer me up and help me look forward to moving. I’ve been talking to my therapist about it but honestly it’s not helping because us moving isn’t necessarily a “problem”. It’s just a thing that’s happening. Idk, I know this is common and will be really good for my mom financially but I’m just so sad it’s come to this and I feel so attached to my room. Any advice helps

I’ve been dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction for the past 3 years, I’m a 17 year old female in college. I’ve had imaging, multiple tests, everything comes back normal. I did pelvic floor pt on and off for about 10 months and saw no progress. I recently got an MRI and my gastro chalked it up to “a functional intestine disorder” aka medical talk for idk what to tell you. I’ve been on linzess and now motegrity (which has been treating me awfully). I know it’s pelvic floor dysfunction because I can literally feel my pelvic floor not working and my stools are flat on one side. I’m losing hope and nobody seems to know what to tell me. Has anyone found any relief from non traditional medicines??
