how to figure out rate of return

I use TOS desktop but now, I'm on the Schwab website as well. How do you figure out rate of return, of the whole account and of individual positions? I just called Schwab and they had no idea. They could show me how to figure out realized but not unrealized. I'm looking into Boldin/Claude to figure which accounts to burn down for RMD, in the future, vs taxes now. If the answer it, it's just the realized gain and loss, from the past, that's fine, but it seems like the Schwab platform could look at purchase price, of a long stock, compare it to current price, and give me an answer on both unrealized and realized. Or am I completely wrong? thank you

early assignment, huge margin

been with TOS all my life, had some short put verticals that were completely buried. I call TOS, now Schwab, they tell me it doesn't matter, it's $100 loss (they are 1 wide) so don't bother closing them. i didn't, i got assigned early (a thursday) on the short side, manually exercise the long on the friday, get charged a lot of interest for margin, over the weekend. i call Schwab, first person tells me i have no accounts with them (i have 7 and i gave them my social security number). Second person, not a broker so can't help. Third person, explains the exercise but not why the long side didn't get auto exercised at the same time and why i was told, if buried, it doesn't matter if you close or not. has this happened to anyone else?

best way to export livejournal to dreamwidth

*if* I can find anyone who can get to my livejournal (ladyinfidel), what is the best way to export it to dreamwidth? I know they have a connection between them but it's been reported here that it's way backed up too. Native from livejournal, is the easist to export as .csv or something else?

thank you

search by IVR

On the tasty platform, can you search by price and then sort by ivr, so all stocks under $50, sort by highest or lowest ivr? I emailed support@tasty but never heard back. thanks

2 questions on maintenance

i need to replace a rule 1000 bilge pump with a rule 27da. the cap to the 1000 just flies off since it's very old. i can't find instructions on the wiring though. I can't get ahold of anyone at Rule either. can anyone help? it's not an automatic bilge pump but the float works on the separate switch.

second, is there any trick at all to saving 3m 4200/4000 once it's opened? i've tried ziplock with all air out, i've tried the freezer and nothing really seems to work.

thank you

weird "about us->talent" page

weird that IG left pictures of everyone who is gone, even Kristi Ross, up on the "about us" page. makes me think it was a rush job and/or who is left for content isn't very good.

FWIW, I kept most positions at TOS with one account at TT. I needed the running checkbook feature of TOS and TT wouldn't do it.

replace old rule 1000 gph

I have a (probably very) old rule 1000 bilge pump with a separate float lever. They both work but the red plastic (square) top on the bilge pump now opens up and water squirts everywhere. the exact pump is not made any longer and it's base is square 2-7/8"W. What can I replace this with? thank you
