What do you call when you take metro?

Random question! Personally I always seem to change it up with no rhyme or reason and want to see if there is consensus out there.

Outside of the bus… what do you say when you’re taking public transportation?

“Let’s take the train?” Subway? Metro?

Do you change it based on if it’s heavy vs light? Metro vs Metrolink?

I think I use “train” the most and across the board regardless of type or agency.

What is the benefit of Light Rail over BRT?

Probably a dumb question, but…

Let’s say when/if the G becomes a true BRT…

What would be the benefit of then converting it to light rail?

Is it just the size of the train vs a bus? Could we get longer busses? 2 longer busses at the same time? 3 busses with shorter headways? Is it a speed thing?

Is the money worth the conversion?

Has metro micro changed the way they do service?

Hello!

I took metro micro a couple years ago when it first started in NoHo. A metro micro van picked me up a block from my house and dropped me off directly at the NoHo train station.

I’m trying to take it again today and all it’s giving me are bus options that are going to take me longer than if I walked straight there.

Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong? I’m in the service zone. It’s within service hours. What am I missing here??

Train/Uber to Ren Faire? Help!

Hi!

Planning on going to the Ren Faire tomorrow (can’t believe I’ve lived here all my life and it’s my first time!), and need help with deciding how to get there!

If we train, the website says we can take an uber to the festival… has anyone done that? Is it easy? Is it fast? Does it drop you off somewhere other than that parking lot (which i heard can be rough)? Will be we able to get an uber out if we stay until it closes at 7?

Or would it be easier to drive?

Basically “money is no object” and I want to get in and out as quickly as possible. I don’t mind walking a little bit. But i do mind/want to avoid as much as possible waiting in line- be it for an uber to pick us up, or in a car getting in and out.

Thank you!!!

Hi Friends!

I’m having an event for about 120 people in Westwood and need rec’s for a restaurant who caters (or caterer)(ideally in the area, but doesn’t have to be!) for an easy dinner I can serve the guests.

It’s not a sit down dinner, but something easy they can eat if they’re standing up at a cocktail table.

Last year we did sliders. The year before tacos.

I’m thinking sandwiches with some sides? Ideally food that doesn’t need to be served piping hot to be enjoyed. Open to any and all ideas!
