I recently learned about credit unions and was wondering what options we have in Malta and the EU.

I’m new to investing. I’ve invested in an ETF and started looking at stocks.

I’m feeling guilty about investing into semi conductors and the like, thinking of how people in other countries have to deal with mining the metals and dying/getting ill while living in poverty, how data centers are effecting people’s living environments and how much water they use up, how AI is causing job losses. Meanwhile we are funding that? Is that how it works?

At the same time I want to retire as soon as possible. But also don’t want to indirectly add to others’ suffering. Would I be doing that if I invest into these companies?

So I don’t know.

What ETFs or stocks have you invested in if you aim to support companies that are truly socially responsible?

It’s like a horror movie, to realise there’s people still enslaved, abused and lied to about needing to “pay off debt” that keeps incurring for decades…

Everytime I go on social media for years now I see and read about the genocide in Gaza and all the brutality in Congo and other countries and the trafficking of children.

This world is hell for so many. It’s unacceptable. DO NOT try to tell me “it’s for lessons/karma/we chose this to expand Source.” NO ONE chooses to be raped and tortured to death.

I feel this world has been hijacked by evil for a long time and it is unacceptable. People protest in the millions, “authorities” do nothing, humanitarian aid workers are kidnapped and tortured.

How can one have hope and not go insane?

I feel like I can’t live with this knowledge. I have times I distract myself and watch a funny video or pet cats and go in nature and feel ok. But it all feels so hollow when one knows the reality of this world.

In a relationship my only crush is my partner and I have zero feelings or attraction to anyone else. I’m fully devoted to one person and have never been the one to willingly leave.

So it felt weird to find out my ex had a years-long crush on an actress and even made a film review that just said, ”I couldn’t get enough close-up shots of (actress’s) face set to sweeping orchestral passages.”

In one of our first conversations when I asked about this movie he told me “I love her, and I liked the director’s other films.”

A few months later I was planning a future trip and he randomly texted “wtf has she done to her face, I can’t believe people find that look attractive, she just looks like every other Hollywood person now, I don’t understand who that industry is for, they all go for the same look, probably all use the same surgeon.”

I was surprised at his seeming disappointment in some actress changing her face? I said yeah hollywood has warped beauty ideals and i’m not sure why it matters that she also got surgery like the rest?”

He said, “I dunno I just like to believe it's possible to be world renown for your craft without selling your soul so I get disappointed when I'm proven wrong time and time again.”

Also, later during a discussion about porn I found out he still watched porn even though I’d sent photos/videos days before. He said he watched it less now that we were sending each other our own photos etc.

We were long distance for the majority of the relationship and there were other issues.

But yeah I just feel like, even though he complimented me a lot, it started to feel empty, cause he’s always going to lust after other women.

Partly due to a breakup and high cortisol - but also something else. Like my view on it has changed a lot.

I never really liked having a body. I feel like sex in a physical body is almost insulting, and I imagine that connecting with someone outside the body is so much more beautiful and euphoric than sex here could ever be. Am I weird?

I only was intimate with someone like 20 times in my life. For some reason I never got pleasure from either PIV or oral either.

I rarely watch porn and feel like it’s a chore even while watching and it looks so dumb and hollow.

Just limbs flailing, wet skin mashing up against each other. An empty, cheap thrill.

When it’s real and you can tell the people care about each other it doesn’t feel hollow. It can look beautiful but then it makes me sad about being single.

Why do you care if you’re in a relationship? like I’d get it if you’re single and want to attract someone but if not?

Most people having a human experience probably had lives on other planets and everyone has abilities, it’s just we are so suppressed here.
