Suggestions for kayaks as an intermediate paddler for rivers (class 1/2) and inland lakes

I'm in Michigan, so access to lots of water. I am 5'7", sub-200lbs, and I prefer sit-in kayaks. I've always rented kayaks, but I'm looking to invest in one of my own. I live in an apartment, but would get a storage unit for winter storage. Budget is under $1200.

I've kayaked on Lake Huron, the Pine river, and a host of other places, so ideally the kayak would be suitable for all of these. I don't need a sea kayak at this time, but I'm not sure if a day touring style would work for all the rivers or if it would be too long.

I do value having a lighter kayak if possible since it's just me, but open to exploring all options. TYIA!

Need clarification on qualifying payments vs. ineligible payments for possible buyback

I have been reviewing my PSLF payments, and I'm trying to get an accurate idea of how many I would have in total if I'm considering the buyback program. Right now, the PSLF tracker says I have 69 qualifying payments (51 remaining), and 6 payments needing employer certification.

If I filter the payments by just one of the loans under the "ineligible" status, I get 38 payments. Some of the ineligible details are because of "forbearance on due date", while others are "In Deferment or Forbearance on Due Date" and "Employment Not Full-time."

  1. First question is, the 69 qualifying payments are ones that have been certified and will count no matter what; any other payments needing certification will be added to that 69, correct? (e.g., If I recertified today, my total qualifying payments would be 69+6?)

  2. Second, I worked 3 parttime jobs during some of the loan period that were qualifying employers and was equivalent to full-time. Would these ineligibility statuses be considered allowed under the buyback program?

  3. If the payments did qualify for buyback, when do I actually submit the form for that? Is it when all of my payments (the 69+6+38 plus future payments) equals 120?

Thanks so much in advance! This is such a headache, and it's very overwhelming to try to figure out.

No Permissions for Converting Private Channel to Public as Workspace Admin?

I need to convert a channel from private to public, but it is saying I don't have permissions. I am a workspace admin, and according to slack documentation, this is something I should be able to do. Is there a setting somewhere that will let me do this?

For the "sweaty betties" out there, how are you wearing and washing wearables?

I am on a new medication that makes me sweat terribly, and I see all these beautiful summer garments, and want so badly to make one. But I'm worried about sweating enough that it will either felt the fabric or make it smell. I don't often see a lot of information about the long term care and wear use on these, so I'm curious: how do you all handle this kind of situation?

I've made sweaters before, but I always wear a tshirt under them so there's never any skin contact on them. Harder to do that with a knitted tank.

Getting ready to switch from iPhone to Android...need help deciding what to go with!

I use my iphone mostly for taking pictures, texting, and reading/audiobooks. Occasionally facetiming with family. Battery life and picture quality is important to me. I've been leaning toward either the Google Pixel or the Samsung Galaxy, but I would love to hear other suggestions or pros/cons.

Looking for Gooseneck Tea Kettle Recs

After almost 6 years of near-daily use, this morning the handle fell off my OXO. I am looking for a new gooseneck kettle, affordable (under $100), and has a design where the handle won't fall off lol. Needs to be electric, and adjustable temperature a must. Everything else is just an added bonus. TYIA!

Getting ready to make my first purchase! Better to purchase direct or from Amazon?

I am getting ready to purchase the M1 V5 VIA M2 V5 VIA (piano theme), and I was wondering if it mattered much whether I get it from monsgeek directly, or if Amazon is just as good. I was originally going to get it directly from monsgeek, but with shipping, it ends up being more than if I ordered from Amazon. I've heard sometimes there can be issues ordering from Amazon, does anyone have any experience ordering from one or the other?

Keyboard Recommendation for WFH Office and Gaming

I have been using an Azio Prism for probably 10 years now (got it in college way back when I was a broke student), and it is on its last legs, so I'm in the market for a new keyboard. I WFH with an office laptop, and I have a separate gaming desktop.

I am okay having a wired keyboard that I can switch back and forth as needed, but I use the full num pad *a lot* so I would prefer that my next keyboard have one too. I was looking at some mechanical keyboards, but am a bit lost on the different key types. Not looking for something super clanky, and my budget is ideally around or under $200 since now I'm a broke adult lol, though I could probably stretch it to $300 if it was especially worth it.

I've seen the Keychron Q series mentioned here before, but it looks like it's mostly wireless? My concern with wireless keyboards is latency/lag for gaming and connectivity issues with my desktop's NIC. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Are balance transfers worth it for smaller balances?

I have done balance transfers before for large balances over $6k, but I just moved, and I have a credit card with about $2k on it at almost 25% interest. I know I will not be able to pay this down aggressively like I normally would due to moving costs and increased rent/cost of living expenses right now. I have a balance transfer offer for 0% APR for 12 months at a 4% transfer fee. Would this make sense to do? It seems like it would save me some money in interest, but I am waffling on if it makes sense to do with such a low credit card balance.

Saw my first river otter in Frankfort the other day when I went to watch the sunset!

I’ve lived in MI my whole life, and NW MI for the last few years, and was so pleased to finally check this off my bucket list! Super playful otter, and was happy to follow us along the pier while he hunted fish.

Songs similar to Dog Days are Over (Optimo Remix) by Florence + the Machine?

I've tried using Apple and Pandora to find more songs based on this, but neither seem to be giving much luck with any songs that aren't just the original versions, so I'm approaching the hive mind! I really love this version of Dog Days are Over, and want to build a workout playlist around this kind of vibe. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to track my cycle phases to better plan ahead for symptoms like migraines and insomnia, so I need to identify what the first day of my period is. Everything I see says spotting does not count as the first day of your period, but now that I'm on the pill again, I barely bleed; most of the time, it really just looks like spotting. I'm assuming this is still considered my first cycle day, whether I'm fulling bleeding or not, but I'm curious what everyone else does. Thanks in advance!
