Was that the biggest 1 minute candle in BTC history, half an hour ago? Want to know what the cause of it was, because there is no big news yet

I am talking about the candle from 67.5k to 70.4k in 1 minute. Curious about what caused that carnage? I couldn't find any major news

Canadian traders, how do you guys trade BTC/USDT Perp.?

I want to trade BTC/USDT (or BTC/USDC) while in Canada with leverage. The options are incredibly restricted.

I am unsure if Coinbase Pro would work; does it?

What are my other options?

International student here. Got kicked out of the university but had my appeal approved (thus I am back in the uni). Should I be worried about my student permit having had changes/being cancelled before my appeal was approved?

I cut my winners way too early in fear of losing profits, and let my lovers run in hope of it reversing. What do you advice me to fix it?

Title. Setting a hard stop loss at the time of entering the trade is pretty difficult because my strategy can cause the price to go against me for a short while and then hit my TP (thus I just set my SL right around my liquidation price).

I also have a major fear of taking small wins because I fear one loss can wipe out lots of my profits

Basically, it's a lot of fear in me. And I am also investing money which I can afford to lose, so it's not a life-turning amount I am trading

Edit: losers* in title

So I got below 2.0 GPA in 1st year engineering and got sent to Y2Q2. I would have been thrown out of the university if I had gotten below 1.65 GPA. Are there such 'minimum GPA requirement' in further years (2nd, 3rd, 4th) too?

My basic question is that: is there a minimum gpa one should maintain in 2nd, 3rd, 4th year engineering in order to avoid being thrown out of the university (exactly same scenario as getting below 1.65 GPA in 1st year engineering)?

Momentumtraders, do you recommend to avoid trading on FOMC days?

Today seemed too volatile, and this is only my 2nd FOMC day since I started trading. I am a momentum trader and lost both the trades I took today (one in S&P500 and the other in BTC). Is is generally better to avoid trading (on 1H+ timeframe, as I do) on FOMC days?

Had a lot of continous losses. Broken at heart.

My strategy works ok usually. I broke rules, and also when I followed the rules it was a false entry.

How does mentally recover from this? Also, I really want to make back my losses (but won't break rules), but I also think I should size down. What do you recommend? I wont be able to breakeven from the losses soon if I size down

Also, has the market itself been pretty bad for the past 3-5 days for trading?

Momentum traders, how do you guys know when to close the trade?

Title. How does someone know, when momentum trading, that the momentum is now over? I struggle with right exits

Best markets for momentum trading?

What are the best markets/commodities for momentum trading (futures) except btcusdt, s&p500, and nasdaq?

I am asking more specially to people who have done/still do momentum trading, but opinions from others are obviously welcome!

How do I stop myself from forcing entries when I am bored?

I trade on 2H timeframe. This means my set up arrives every 2-3 days, meaning I get a lot of free time if I hit TP or SL within a few hours of my entry.

I get pretty bored in this time (I dont have another job) and try to force entries, some times to even recover my previous loss. But this isn't mostly a revenge trading issue, rather it is a boredom trading and forcing-trades issue

What do you think could help me in this case?

I move my SL to breakeven too early; hit SL and the move then the move continues in my direction

I trade BTCUSDT on 2H timeframe. When a trade goes my way for 2-3 candles (on 2H), too afraid that the trade might reverse an I might end up in a loss... thus I move my SL to breakeven. But the 2H timeframe has big wicks, and I just get stopped out at breakeven by a wick and then the move continues.

Entering the trade after getting stopped out is risky as it places my entry point much closer to the trade momentum end, thus increasing my probability of getting a loss in the 2nd entry.

Context: I momentum trade longs and shorts, and keep moving my TP towards higher profits (eg. in the case of longs, I would move my TP higher) when the price moves in my direction.

What suggestion do you have for me to fix this?

[Repost] Any incoming student(s) joining the UofA this year? Fellow senior here, and I would love to connect with you guys!

Hey!

I am an international student myself. Going into 2nd year this year in fall. When I joined the UofA last year, we had a big group of incoming students and we also had 1-2 seniors to help us and make early friends. That really paid off well! We are all now friends even though we were quite unknown to each other before the group was formed

So, if you do want to connect with me and perhaps even be friends, do send me a dm without a second thought. We could connect together with other students joining the university this year.

A bit about me: I lived in Lister last year (so I can guide you regarding moving in and stuff too, if needed). I am a friendly person and love outdoors. I will be happy to guide you guys about the process of getting your Alberta health cards and Alberta ID too, if needed

If you wanna know something more before talking over message, you can ask me in the comments!

See yah!

What in the world was that strong wick that sent BTC to 65250 from 64600 in just a few seconds?

Does anyone know why that happened? I checked the news and there wasnt any major political reason.
