Ticks on St Mary’s Glacier snow field.

Hiked, skinned and skied St Marys today. I was shocked how many ticks or what appeared to be ticks in the snowfield I saw as I skinned up. I counted at least 15. Most appeared green and some had red spots. Is this a common thing? I don’t remember this when I did it last year.

I have been having issues with heel lift in my left ski boot, and I have been a having difficulty releasing the edge on that side when I turn. I added a lateral wedge insole inside the boot and it solved my problems almost immediately. I think it is a way to test out if canting would work for you.

Looking for a place that specializes in soup or has great soup. Would prefer one stop shop that has all types of soup from chicken bisques to chicken noodle , but will also a take recommendations of places that have goos individual soups. Bonus if they have extra large sizes that you stash for in the fridge for a few days.

*Guanella Pass

With the road to Guanella Pass opening early this year due to the low snow pack. Is there any backcountry skiing to still be had up there that we can access quicker using the road?
