I'm kind of obsessed with the way charli's songs on this album are from the perspective of "charli xcx" talking to "her audience". That sounds kind of obvious but most songs are from a less specific first person narrator that a listener can project themselves on to or directed at a less specific persona. When Charli sings "you" she's literally talking about us, her audience, on a lot of the album. I don't feel like people talk enough about the vulnerability of presenting songs as literal conversations she is having with her audience. It's not only refreshing, but it's really astounding and powerful from a songwriting perspective.

Could not stop laughing towards the end of the Outback episode at how circuitously the burger boy described getting older by saying something like ‘I got ‘big-ed’ just by the natural progression of time’

Hey lanitas:) I am a huge fan of Lana, obviously, and I'm sure this is the right place to talk about how personal her lyrics are and how much the emotion she breathes into them means to me.
I'm the editor of an app/website that lets you send song clips in your text messages or online conversations. the way you might use GIFs or Emojis.
As you can imagine I spent a long time curating the Lana songs for the best conversational clips or the most iconic lines that somebody might want to share. But I also wanted to request from you all, any lines or moments from her songs that you think I missed or that you'd want to share
It's USA only because that's the rights we were able to secure, but if you'd check out Lana's catalog on the app and let me know what you think, whether I'm missing something, or just enjoy it and don't feel like you need to follow up, I would be so grateful.

Hello fellow Queen lovers,
I have been a die-hard Queen fan since I was kid. I used to put on puppet shows where I’d puppet along to their albums and I never skipped a track.
Cut to 35 years later, I am the editor of an app that lets you send musical clips in texts or online conversations. The way you use Gifs. As you can imagine, I stocked the library with all the Queen lyrics that could work as conversational messages that I could think of. Lucky for me, every lyric Freddie sings is like an earworm of its own.
My question to you, humbly, would you check out the Queen catalog and let me know any songs or lyrics you think would be great for this?
It’s USA only which isn’t fair but that’s the licensing deal I got.

I’ve been a gigantic Leonard Cohen fan my whole life. I inherited the love from my parents and it became solidified as my own when I was 12 and saw Pump Up The Volume.
Cut to 35 years later and I am the editor of an app that lets you send short music clips in text or online conversations, like music gifs.
As I am in charge of curating the entire musical library, I’ve done my best to come up with the best Leonard Cohen clips that would be helpful, fun, or resonant in conversations.
