For those of you who have had time to give Petal a real listen, which lyric feels the most personal? There is a little bit of a diary thing happening in this album imo
Here’s my pick for the lyric that feels pulled straight from her diary…

I'm kind of obsessed with the way charli's songs on this album are from the perspective of "charli xcx" talking to "her audience". That sounds kind of obvious but most songs are from a less specific first person narrator that a listener can project themselves on to or directed at a less specific persona. When Charli sings "you" she's literally talking about us, her audience, on a lot of the album. I don't feel like people talk enough about the vulnerability of presenting songs as literal conversations she is having with her audience. It's not only refreshing, but it's really astounding and powerful from a songwriting perspective.
Hey Redditors!
My name is Ian:) I’m the editor for LaDiDa, a new app and website that lets you send short music clips in text messages or online conversations the same way you use GIFs or emojis.
For so many of us, music is part of the way we communicate, but until now there hasn’t been a convenient way to replicate that shared language in text conversations. My goal as editor is to curate the perfect music clip for every moment. In other words, If you want to say “I love you” you can say it with Whitney Houston. If you want to “poke” a friend, you can do it with Taylor Swift. or if you want to wish someone “Happy Birthday”, you can let Stevie Wonder sing it for you.
An added benefit that we’ve discovered is that it can be a great way to find new music. At a time when AI algorithms have taken over streaming services, users seem to really love discovering new or new-to-them music with every search.
We're a super small team working hard to license as much music as we can, with the hope that one day LaDiDa will feel as native to your keyboard as GIPHY or Emoji’s or Voice Memos.
Also, and importantly, it’s 100% free. No signups required. Not even an ad on the site. Our goal is growth and we want everyone to use it so we can prove it has real value.
If this sounds fun or interesting, please try the web version at LaDiDa - Say It With a Song or download the more interactive Iphone App for free at LaDiDa: Text With Music Clips App - App Store
I would love to answer any questions you have, and especially I’d love your ideas! we are brand new and passionate so the more ideas, comments, and questions the better.
Our label deals are for United States distribution so my apologies to people in other countries. We hope to be available to you someday as well.
I’m talking about those little ear worms within the song that totally stick in your mind outside of the context of this song.
For example, I feel like anytime somebody says “I hope so” from now on, I’m going to think to myself “heeeere’s to hoping” in her voice.
I feel like there are a lot of them on this album, what are yours?

Could not stop laughing towards the end of the Outback episode at how circuitously the burger boy described getting older by saying something like ‘I got ‘big-ed’ just by the natural progression of time’
Hey lanitas:) I am a huge fan of Lana, obviously, and I'm sure this is the right place to talk about how personal her lyrics are and how much the emotion she breathes into them means to me.
I'm the editor of an app/website that lets you send song clips in your text messages or online conversations. the way you might use GIFs or Emojis.
As you can imagine I spent a long time curating the Lana songs for the best conversational clips or the most iconic lines that somebody might want to share. But I also wanted to request from you all, any lines or moments from her songs that you think I missed or that you'd want to share
It's USA only because that's the rights we were able to secure, but if you'd check out Lana's catalog on the app and let me know what you think, whether I'm missing something, or just enjoy it and don't feel like you need to follow up, I would be so grateful.
Thanks! Here are the Lana clips...

Hello fellow Queen lovers,
I have been a die-hard Queen fan since I was kid. I used to put on puppet shows where I’d puppet along to their albums and I never skipped a track.
Cut to 35 years later, I am the editor of an app that lets you send musical clips in texts or online conversations. The way you use Gifs. As you can imagine, I stocked the library with all the Queen lyrics that could work as conversational messages that I could think of. Lucky for me, every lyric Freddie sings is like an earworm of its own.
My question to you, humbly, would you check out the Queen catalog and let me know any songs or lyrics you think would be great for this?
It’s USA only which isn’t fair but that’s the licensing deal I got.
If you’re interested, have a look and let me know what’s missing please:)
I love George Michael and one of the reasons is that he can put so much feeling into a single lyric. That being said, this lyric is the one that I use everyday and it's so funny to me

Do you guys have lyrics that pop in your head everyday outside of the context of the song?
In honor of Bob Dylan’s birthday this weekend I will only be responding to texts in Dylan clips. Luckily he has the most distinctive voice so he can make “Maybe” sound great!
I’ve been a gigantic Leonard Cohen fan my whole life. I inherited the love from my parents and it became solidified as my own when I was 12 and saw Pump Up The Volume.
Cut to 35 years later and I am the editor of an app that lets you send short music clips in text or online conversations, like music gifs.
As I am in charge of curating the entire musical library, I’ve done my best to come up with the best Leonard Cohen clips that would be helpful, fun, or resonant in conversations.
My question to you, as fans of Leonard Cohen, which clips am I missing? What lyric of his would you love to share? Would you take a look and share your ideas? Thanks so much!
I’m linking to the Leonard Cohen search page…
I was thinking about how Sade’s music has translated so well to TikTok and Reels. In my mind, it’s because so much of the vibe is immediately present and lovely the instant it hits your ear.
With that in mind, which lyric or song of hers is the next one to have a viral moment on social media?
Here is my vote…

Lots of talk about how Dylan left protest music behind, but there are lyrics like this one that are as politically poignant as anything he’s ever written…

What are some of your favorite late era Dylan protest lyrics?
