It’s Over For Me

After another seizure today, my cardiologist has told me I am no longer allowed to run. From being requested into the 2012 Olympics as a 100m sprinter, to turning in to a long distance runner in my 30s I am feeling absolutely devastated.
There is a possibility of returning to running depending on the outcome of treatment and medication but who knows when or if that will be..
I’m in a low place now and would love some encouragement or advice from other runners who have been in a similar position. Did you go back to running eventually? What did you do instead of running? How did you cope with it?

I want to be a vegan

Sorry if this isn’t allowed.
I need some advice from vegans who have health conditions and those who are also athletes.

I desperately want to be a vegan and have tried before. However, I have failed because it’s either given me weird symptoms or because I hate to cook and could never find basic meals that reached my calorie and macro targets.

I have a few cardiovascular conditions- atrial fibrillation, POTs, irregular heartbeat and cardiovascular seizures. I also have hypothyroidism/hashis and suffer with IBS.
I’m an athlete so am extremely fit and take my diet very seriously. I currently eat low FODMAP, dairy free (allergic), and gluten free (intolerant) diet. Except for seitan- I just can’t give it up it tastes too good, stomach ache and all.
My usual meals are made up of a protein source and loads of salad and low FODMAP veggies with a carb like potatoes or rice.

The symptoms I had when I tried veganism before were brain zaps, fatigue and low energy. How can I prevent this? and how can I do it in a simple way without using many ingredients in one meal?

Hoping someone can help! Thank you!!

Board help!

I’ve wanted to skate since I was a kid, I’m a 31 year old mother now and have decided that now is the time to learn.
I’m booking in some private tuition to get the basics down.. I know I could just get out there myself but honestly I’m scared and embarrassed. ANYWAY. What board should I get? I want to be able to cruise around mainly on the street and paved parks but would also love to be able to do a few tricks. So should I just get a standard beginners skateboard or a longboard?

F/31/5’7 [210lbs>140lbs= 70lbs] (2 years) Am I There Yet?

Would love some kindly worded opinions on my body. I have successfully reached my goal weight but now I’m here, do I need to lose another stone (14lbs), get muscular or maintain? I’ve done it all through OMAD (first year) calorie deficit (2nd year-now), running 3x a week and weight training 3x a week. I also have POTs, atrial fibrillation, cardiovascular seizures, hypothyroidism/hashimotos- to prove that it’s possible for most people.

I met fairies and am possibly a changeling.

I think this classes as a paranormal encounter…
When I was a kid around the age of 10 I went to bed like any other normal night however I was greeted by fairy like beings and taken to a large village where they lived. I have vivid memories of what it looked like but I find it really hard to explain. I remember walking through this village and seeing it all, but then everything went blank and I woke up the next morning in my bedroom.
I know you may think this was a dream, however… years later my older sister asked me if I remember the night I told her I’d been with the fairies, to which I replied yes.. then she went on to tell me that she had snuck in to my room that night to find me gone, in a state of panic she ran to my mum who told her I was at a sleepover. But if id have been at a sleepover, why did I wake up in my bedroom the next day.. my sister also remembers me being at home the next day too.
I’ve asked my mum about it but she doesn’t remember anything.

My sister wonders if I’m a changeling because after this night I became progressively more sickly and have suffered a lifetime of unusual and unexplainable symptoms as well as an ability to clearly see peoples auras as if they are painted on. I’ve never done anything with these abilities apart from a few times where I have vivid memories of other peoples lives when I look at them and I feel compelled to tell them what I’ve seen.. this creeps people out though so it’s very rare I’ll ever say something unless I feel I have to.

Anyway.. I’ve never really told anyone about this experience and thought someone might find it interesting.

My new ear wing!

I was devastated that my snug piercing didn’t work out.. so I let it heal and treated myself to this ear wing! It’s so gorgeous and makes me feel like I have multiple piercings when it’s just one!
What piercing should I get next to match my wing, tragus and helix?

Lazy cook breakfast and lunch today

I hate cooking and I hate being in the kitchen, so my meals have to be very minimalistic with next to no cooking involved. I only cook for dinner time.
Boiled eggs, fruit, dairy free protein yogurt, chia seeds and almonds for breakfast.
Cucumber, carrot, grapes, hummus and collagen protein for lunch.

What should I be eating? I can train but I can’t eat

I want to become a hybrid athlete after losing 70lbs. I’m already a runner but I under-eat and struggle with my macros. Anybody got any idea of what they should be or somewhere I can find it out in order to start training?
I’m scared of putting on weight after 2 years in a pretty severe deficit HOWEVER, I’m over it and want to be strong, not skinny.

My current stats and schedule:
- Female/ 5ft 7in/ 144lbs
- Per day on average: kcals: 1,300/ protein: 50g/ carbs: 110g/ fat: 40g
- Run x3 a week mix of long runs (10-12k), easy runs (7-9k) and tempo (5k)
- Occasional weight training (this will change when I can figure out how much to eat.. weight lifting is very tough with my current caloric intake)
- Walk up to 10km per day

Timer starts now.

I quit smoking cigarettes exactly 2 years, 7 months and 4 days ago when I found out I was pregnant. HOWEVER. I started on the nicotine pouches straight after I gave birth and have been chain using them ever since (20 a day).
My gums are sore, my teeth hurt and I just hate the things. I’ve decided right this second to quit.
Writing this post to keep myself accountable. If anyone has any tips or words of support, I would much appreciate it! So happy I’ve found this sub!

Please excuse the mess.. having kids does that to a house

I eat very very healthily, however I don’t eat enough and I don’t know what to add in to my diet without fear.
I have gone from 210lbs to 140lbs in 2 years and what started as a healthy weight loss journey has turned in to somewhat of an eating disorder problem. Which I am seeking help for. In the meantime, I would like to up my calories and protein with a very quick, very easy extra meal. (I hate cooking and tons of ingredients)
I am an extremely active runner and walk up to 10km a day.
I cannot eat dairy (intolerance), gluten (hypothyroidism) or onions. (Prefer low fodmap for IBS)
I don’t consume any caffeine or any drink other than water.

I eat some version of this every day:
Meal 1: protein yogurt, chia seeds and fruit
Meal 2: protein (ie: tofu, seitan, chicken, salmon), salad (lettuce, cucumber, bell pepper), potatoes or rice.
I get roughly 1,100kcals/ 50g protein/ 130g carbs/ 40g fat per day.

Does anyone have a quick go to meal to top up calories and protein?

This is my hair.. it is so unbelievably precious to me and I feel like I look after it well but I must be doing something wrong.
I wash it twice a week with the body shop ginger shampoo and banana conditioner.
When wet: being leave in conditioner, the body shop grape seed oil, lush shield heat protector, lush super milk. I then blow dry as my hair is so thick it takes hours to dry naturally.
I use the ordinary hair peptides at night and massage my scalp for 5 minutes every day for 7 days, once a month.
I loosely plait it for bed and wear either a claw clip, fork or french plait/s during the day. HOWEVER, I am a runner so I wear it in a high ponytail 3x a week (this is the only style that works for me whilst running)
My hair is naturally pin straight since having a baby 2 years ago. Before pregnancy it was extremely curly.
I seem to have breakage in the front and perhaps split ends? I have no idea how to deal with it.. I feel like it looks really bad and I’m devastated.. please help if you can.
