Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce marry at Madison Square Garden
It started with a friendship bracelet — and ended with wedding rings. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, both 36, were married Friday at Madison Square Garden, according to Swift’s publicist. The arena’s marquee read, “JUST&T MARRIED.”
Their three-year romance included two Super Bowls, an album announcement, and the highest-grossing tour of all time.
The story began in July 2023 when Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium. On his New Heights podcast, he joked that he was “butthurt” he couldn’t give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number. By September, he had invited her to a Chiefs game, where she appeared beside his mother, Donna Kelce. The pair left together in Kelce’s purple Chevelle, launching months of public appearances.
Swift later changed the lyrics of “Karma” during an Argentina concert to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs,” confirming their growing relationship. In her Time Person of the Year interview, she revealed they had already been dating before her first Chiefs game appearance.
The couple celebrated together after the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and again after defeating the 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl. Swift made the game after traveling from Tokyo following four Eras Tour shows and the Grammy Awards.
Throughout 2024, Kelce supported Swift on tour, even making a surprise appearance on stage in London. Swift praised “my boyfriend Travis” during her MTV Video Music Awards speech, while Kelce proudly called her “my girl” and “his girlfriend” on podcasts.
Swift continued attending Chiefs games, including the 2025 Super Bowl. The couple made their red-carpet debut at Tight End University and later appeared together in Nashville, where Swift performed “Shake It Off” with Kane Brown.
In August, Swift announced her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, with Kelce included in the rollout. During a New Heights episode, the couple reflected on their relationship, crediting the podcast and the Eras Tour for bringing them together.
Later that month, Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
As July Fourth weekend approached, preparations at Madison Square Garden fueled speculation before officials confirmed the wedding would take place Friday, July 3.
The ceremony featured no bridesmaids or groomsmen. Swift’s brother served as her man of honor, Jason Kelce was best man, and actor Adam Sandler officiated. Swift and Kelce wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture designed by Jonathan Anderson with Christian Louboutin shoes, while Swift completed her look with Cartier jewelry.
