I cannot access my new capital one accounts

(note: this is a copy and paste email I tried sending to the capital one email addresses I found online with some edits. I tried to find these in order to resolve this issue, so I apologize for this being super formal or whatever.)

I, 18M, opened a Capital One 360 Checking and Performance Savings account on August 14th and transferred funds from my DCU savings account into the Performance Savings account. I first attempted to transfer money into the Performance Savings account. It did not appear under "pending deposits," so I assumed it didn't go through. I then initiated a second transfer for the remainder of my DCU savings. Both transfers then appeared as pending, which would overdraw my DCU account. Now my Performance Savings account shows the amount which was the entirety of my DCU balance as the current balance, but both the amounts that I tried to transfer are still listed as pending deposits.

I called Capital One's customer service and spoke to multiple representatives. One sent me an ID verification link, but I could not complete it because I only have a temporary Massachusetts paper ID, as my physical ID won't arrive for 1–2 weeks. I was told I'd need to visit a physical branch. The closest one is Assembly Row, about an hour away. I called the Assembly Row branch to ask if they would accept my temporary ID for verification or use the "In-Person ID Verification" QR code feature in the app, but I was transferred between departments without getting a clear answer.

I leave for college in NYC from MA on August 28 and currently cannot access any of my funds. I cannot afford to go without said funds for over a week, and I don't know if my physical ID will arrive in time. Can I verify my identity at the Assembly Row branch using my temporary Massachusetts ID along with my Social Security card? If not, is there another way to resolve this before I leave for college? Any help you can provide would mean a lot.

Rate my financial choices in accounts and cards

I, 18M, am an out-of-state freshman starting college in NYC at the end of this month. The debit card I currently have is from DCU, but I am switching to the Capital One 360 debit card because I opened a Capital One 360 checking account today. I am switching from DCU to Capital One due to threats of financial abuse (threatening to take every last penny that I earned myself) from my father. He has joint ownership over my account, as I applied for a checking account when I got my first job at 16, and he needed to be the joint holder so I could get the account. He cannot be removed as a joint holder unless he himself signs off, which I doubt that he will. For my credit card, I applied for and received the Discover Student IT credit card, with a $500 line of credit. And for my savings, I opted for the E*TRADE high-yield savings account, with a 4.0% APY for the first 6 months, and then 3.5% APY after. My goal is to hard save so that post-graduation in 4 years, I can get an NYC apartment (I have family here, so I could move in with them in the meantime), manage paying off crazy student loans, and live comfortably. Any advice/tips anyone can provide me would be greatly appreciated :)

Which HYSA should an 18 yr old nyc college student apply for?

As stated, I’m an 18 yr old NYC college student from MA. I’ve been a DCU member since 2014 as my mom has opened that account for me, and I have both a DCU checking and savings account. I also recently applied for a discover student it credit card and have a $500 line of credit. Which bank would be best if I want to hard save for a future nyc apartment but will have to deal with student loans 6 months post grad?

What I’m looking for:
- no monthly fees or account minimums
- really good apy
- decent mobile app

Planned parenthood testosterone prescription

I started testosterone in April 23rd, 2025, at 17 the non-legal way because I was in a non supportive household. Today I have my planned parenthood appointment in a few hours to get a testosterone prescription and on my MyChart E-Check In, I put that I’ve already been on it. I assume that they’re going to ask how/check for proof and whatnot and I’m afraid that I’ll be denied or something because of it. Has anyone else been in this position? Regardless, any advice would be appreciated.

Edit: I am going to the one in NH if that changes things

Which bank is best for applying for a first credit card and high yield savings account?

What the title says. I turned 18 in April, and want to get my finances in order before I go to college. I currently have a debit card and a simply checking and savings account with DCU in NH. However, I am going to college in Lower Manhattan, and I want to be prepared for being in an expensive area alone for the first time. Any answers and additional advice for me would be greatly appreciated.
