Every dog is different, I know.
Short version: 3-year old rescue...ours for the last 16 months.
Perfect bathroom habits.
Perfect on leash.
Loves cats.
Loves other dogs.
Loves other people.
Only one issue:
Crippling separation anxiety that results in a variety of behaviors that are bad for people's stuff and potentially harmful to the agitated dog.
Through rigorous trial/error, by a carefully timed mix of exercise, gabapentin and trazedone...we can get him to crate calmly (sometimes very...others not as much) for up to 4 hours.
Our dude has 2 in-person vets (for reasons) and online one (plug for the drugs)...
Yesterday the vet who we Zoomed with offered fluoxetine with a goal of eventually reducing/eliminating the other meds.
Anybody have experience with doggy prozac?
...happy to drive off 40% of his potential customers...for Donnie Mangotits. FFS.
Short version: solid watch overall. But, like anything: quirks.
I've been wearing this daily for 3.5 years, and 24/7 for the last 2.5.
Only two watch-related issues:
(1) last several months, touch screens intermittently wonky on screens where you swipe to enter values (barometer, alarms)...they just spin without input. Restarting usually clears.
(2) last month, barometer and therefore elevation data flakey AF. I seldom calibrated the barometer because it was so accurate. Now I walk along the beach and the the el data looks like I climbed Anapurna. I don't want to recalibrate barometer every day...
Tried all the Garmin (and ChatGPT) troubleshooting. Same.
Contact with Garmin support was AMAZING via chat. I either chatted with an actual human or the best AI agent EVER. They took my serial and Connect registration email and immediately offered several solutions for an out-of-warranty exchange.
I chose the final one...and an hour later had a shipping confirmation and day after tomorrow delivery (ordered at 4pm)....hello 47mm AMOLED Fenix 8.
So: Garmin's ecosystem has some areas of pure mystery meat (esp in the app): sleep score, body battery, stress levels...meh.
Bit: it has stood up to daily rawdogging in all conditions, has great battery life and it's geodata (my primary interest) in the app is outstanding.
I went in for a 7 just as 8 was being released and wanted to wait for the 9...
But seriously: Garmin was immediately responsive and I guarantee generated a ton of goodwlll with me for what I found to be a very generous offer on 3-year old technology.

NSFW frow grown up words while my head explodes over how much Pandora currently sucks.
Seriously...
I loved the original Pandora.
Find and artist with good tunes. Make a station. Get a LOT of that artist's work and some samples of music with "similar DNA" (Pandora's claim, not mine).
Today:
Select a long-ago station.
First tune from that artist is FIVE fucking songs into the playlist. First 10 tunes are 70% other fucking artists.
I don't know about other users, but this NOT the experience I want.
Auto-renewal is getting turned off today. I can learn spotify. FU and your current shit user experience, pandora.
I mean...it aint a serrios problem, but I get some say in the quality of the return on shit i pay for.
I've been using logitech mice and keyboards exclusively for nearly 30 years.
I'm done.
All I want to do is check the battery level on a wireless mouse.
I don't want to update an app, change a password, and then be invited to add the hardware to the app that I've been operating for two fucking years.
Fuck you and your apps and your software and your fucking updated.
3 years old today. His puppy brain is starting to recede.
Seen on C-SPAN today...
