New 4x2x2 vivarium setup, looking for advice on getting temps stable before my ball python moves in
Hi everyone! I’m currently setting up a new 4ft x 2ft x 2ft vivarium for my young ball python Monty (it’s not done hence stuff being everywhere) and I’m currently running it for a few days before moving him in.
I’m mainly looking for advice on getting the temperature gradient correct and consistent.
Setup:
4x2x2 wooden vivarium
150W yellow heat bulb controlled by a ProRep dimming thermostat
T5 UVB tube
Coco husk + Repti Bark + coco fibre + leaf litter * moss mixed substrate
Cork bark, hides, vines, artificial plants, (also place some moss under the cool side hide)
Digital thermometers/hygrometers on both sides
Currently after not long ago turning it on:
🔥 Warm side: ~33 degree
❄️ Cool side: ~20°C
I know the cool side is lower than never and I’m wondering how I even will bring that up and is the heat lamp in a good position where it is mainly on the warm hide with the probe underneath
A few questions:
Is it normal for a new 4x2x2 to take a while to stabilise?
Should I increase the thermostat temperature to bring the cool side up?
How do you recommend setting up the probe position for the most accurate reading?
Before this new set up he’s currently on a heat mat set up so I usually leave that running all night for a consistent temp however with the me over the head lamp it creates light so will I be fine turning the heat off each night?
The vivarium will be running for a couple more days before Monty moves in, so I’m trying to get everything perfect beforehand.
Any advice would be massively appreciated!

Found in the wild for £10 at a carboot sale.
Just picked up this record at a carboot sale for only £10! The disc has definitely never been played in really good condition. I am assuming this is a bootleg album release but still can’t seem to find this exact one online any info? How much is it really worth? Either way I’m very happy to add it to my collection such a great album! Misfits truly are the best

I think I’m becoming a Christian, but something is still holding me back
I’m a 21-year-old guy who wasn’t raised religious at all. My family are good people but have always been very anti-religion and I’ve spent most of my life feeling the same way.
Growing up I was the stereotypical rebellious alternative kid. I smoked, vaped, used weed, mocked religion, and never imagined Christianity would ever be part of my life.
Everything changed when I moved to university almost two years ago and met my girlfriend. She is a Christian, and honestly meeting her was the best thing that’s ever happened to me. We met by complete chance on my first night at university, then randomly ran into each other again the next day and have barely spent a day apart since.
She’s helped me become a much better person. I’ve quit a lot of bad habits, started thinking more deeply about life, and become much more open to faith. Recently I’ve started going to church most Sundays, reading the Bible, asking questions, and trying to understand Christianity for myself.
The thing is, I want to believe fully. Deep down I feel like there’s something there, but I still feel held back.
Part of it might be that most of my friends are anti-religious. My family wouldn’t really understand either. I also come from and am still heavily involved in and always will be in alternative circles (rock, metal, skateboarding, etc.) where Christianity isn’t exactly common, so sometimes I feel caught between two worlds.
Has anyone else been in a similar position? How did you move from being interested in Christianity to genuinely believing? How do you deal with doubts, social pressure, and feeling like you’re becoming a different person from who you used to be?

Made my girlfriend her own record for her birthday!
My girlfriends birthday is upcoming and she’s a musician, she sings and songwrites and is also currently learning piano and so the other month I sneakily got her to send me her 4 favourite recordings of her songs that she’s recorded and sneakily designed this whole surprise for her! One of the songs on the record is even a song written about me (Yorkshire accent)! I custom made all of the covers online including the disk labels and record sleeve, she loves old timey things and we visit lots of castles together hence the sleeve design and the front and back cover works all so well! The ep album name just figuring it out she unknowingly chose her self as I asked her one night what her album would be called if she ever had one out of curiosity and two of my fave photos of her she looks stunning from when she visited the states last summer on the front and back cover which in my option was the perfect choice. But anyways very excited to hear it play! (I’m the record collector of the relationship lol) and very excited to surprise her on her birthday in a few weeks time I think she’s going to love it! Or atleast I hope 😂. Just thought I’d share as I’m very happy with the result! It’s soo cool!

Trying to learn bowl skating!
Trying to learn bowl skating, this is a little line from yesterday! Any tips and tricks would be appreciated (I know I definitely need to get practicing front side lol) I’m usually strictly street and park skater so this is definitely something new and different and I wanna get pretty good at bowl love watching people fly around them.
