Why suddenly all social apps are bringing games into their platform? I will not promote.

Reddit just added games, a few months back it was LinkedIn. Facebook did it first. Snapchat, Tiktok is also doing it. Is it a new way for them to make users stay longer on their platform? If it happened slowly I would have not noticed. But suddenly in the past year, every social platform is pushing games. Why are they doing this?

Did a SideQuest in Austin: Chicken Shit Bingo at Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon. What other Austin Sidequests everyone should try?

I thought my friend was joking when they told me about Chicken Shit Bingo at Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon. Turns out it's exactly what it sounds like.

You pick a square, a chicken wanders around, and everyone waits for it to poop. If it poops in one of the numbers you selected, you win.

This might be the most fun thing I've ever done and it's even better in person.

What are some other weird, uniquely Austin experiences everyone should do at least once?

Completed a SideQuest in Philadelphia today: Find the Magic Gardens. What other uniquely Philly SideQuests should I add to my list?

I thought it'd just be a quick stop to look at some mosaics. Ended up wandering through a maze of mirrors, tiles, bottles, bikes, and thousands of tiny pieces of art stitched together into one of the coolest places I've visited.

If you're in Philly and haven't been yet, here's your SideQuest: Find Philadelphia's Magic Gardens.

What other uniquely Philly SideQuests should I add to my list?

Shakira appreciation post. You can laugh at me, but she was the reason I started watching football.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but Shakira was genuinely my gateway into football. Before I knew anything about tactics, leagues, rivalries, Haaland or Yamal, I knew the World Cup songs.

Waka Waka wasn't just a song. It felt like the World Cup itself. Every time I hear it, I'm instantly transported back to packed living rooms, noisy friends, flags everywhere, and that feeling that something special was happening somewhere in the world. Then came La La La. Then came Dai Dai somehow became part of football culture.

Obviously the players are the stars, but I don't think Shakira gets enough credit for how much she elevated the atmosphere around the World Cup. She made football feel bigger than sport. She made it feel like a global celebration. It's funny because I started paying attention because of the music and stayed because of how interesting the matches were.

Am I the only one?

Of course there are other good worldcup songs like Waving flag, Ole ola, Ricky Martin's. But you can't deny Shakira stands out of them all.

Did a SideQuest to Judge the best Döner shop in Berlin. What are some fun Berlin Sidequests everyone should try?

I went to Mustafa first, very cool ambiance and the aroma is to die for 😍, next we went to Imren- my friend said this was underrated but I didn't like it much. Finally we went to Ruyam, this place deserves all the praise. The goat. We roamed the entire city and genuinely felt like I'd just completed a SideQuest in a game.

Now I'm curious what are other random berlin Sidequests everyone should try at least once?

Not the usual tourist stuff. I'm looking for small oddly specific city rituals and local experiences.

Trying to build a list of Berlin Sidequests. Would love to hear yours.

Made a stupid app where users can challenge others to do weird & crazy Sidequests. This one is the most completed SideQuest. Should I continue developing the app?

I made an app called SideQuest. Which is available on the web as well. The app allows users to create and challenge others to do crazy and wild Sidequests. Users can complete them, rate and review their experience doing it.

Launched last month. People have created 1000+ Sidequests so far. Looks like there's a demand for this and people like this concept. I just made it for fun with no vision on where to take it further. What else can I do to make the app more fun and improvise on this concept?

Found these cool concrete slides designed by a 14 year old in 1973. Hidden between apartment buildings in San Francisco, still standing and adults still slide down them every day.

Completed a sidequest in Boston today: spotted a Boston Common chonk squirrel. What are other Boston sidequests everyone should try?

Was walking through Boston Common today and ended up spending an embarrassing amount of time trying to spot one of the legendary chonk squirrels.

Mission accomplished. It felt like completing a sidequest in a video game. Now I'm curious what are other random Boston sidequests everyone should try at least once?

Not the usual tourist stuff. More like:

• oddly specific local traditions

• hidden spots

• weird Boston experiences

• tiny adventures

• things that sound ridiculous until you actually do them

Trying to build the ultimate Boston sidequest list. Would love to hear yours.

I built an app that replaces doomscrolling with random sidequests from other people to complete and add to your lore

Started as a drunk thought. We spend hours watching other people do funny, weird, and wholesome things on TikTok and Reels. You get invested in their stories, but at the end of the day you're still sitting in the same spot, scrolling.

I wanted to recreate the fun part of that feeling in real life. So I built an app that gives you random sidequests created by other people. Complete them solo or with friends, save the ones you like, and slowly build a collection of stories, memories, and inside jokes AKA your own lore.

I launched it last month and somehow we've grown to 10k users completely organically.

Would love your thoughts, feedback, and criticism.

Completed a sidequest in Amsterdam today: Ringing the De poezenboot (floating cat boat) doorbell. Creating a list of sidequests everyone should try in Amsterdam

Found a floating cat sanctuary in Amsterdam today and genuinely felt like I’d unlocked a sidequest in a video game. You literally find this random houseboat, ring the doorbell, and step into a world where rescued cats casually live on water like this is completely normal civic infrastructure 😭Only Amsterdam.

Now I’m curious what are other random Amsterdam sidequests everyone should try at least once? Not the usual tourist stuff.

More like weird hidden spots, bizarre local rituals, oddly specific experiences, chaotic little adventures, tiny moments you randomly remember years later

Trying to build the Amsterdam sidequest list.

Would love to hear yours.

Completed a sidequest in San Francisco today: Sliding down Seward street slides built for adults. What are other SF sidequests everyone should try?

Found these weird hidden concrete slides in San Francisco today (apparently built for adults..) and genuinely felt like I’d just completed a sidequest in a game.

You have to bring cardboard to actually slide properly, which somehow makes the whole thing even more fun.

Now I’m curious, what are other random San Francisco sidequests everyone should try at least once?

Not the usual tourist stuff.

More like small oddly specific things:

• hidden spots

• weird city rituals

• niche local experiences

• places with chaotic energy

• tiny moments you randomly remember years later

Trying to build a list of SF sidequests.

Would love to hear yours.

We always hear stories about the hidden UCLA tunnels but most people have never even talked about it properly.

A staff member said they’d be willing to take a small group through for a legit tour this Sunday evening.

Thinking of organizing a casual sidequest where we:

- See the "hidden" tunnels

- check out known tunnel spots / entrances

- Get in and explore the tunnels safely

- hear stories people know

- meet other curious people

- do one of the most random UCLA things possible

- Then walk to Diddy Riese to end the day with ice cream. 😊

If enough people are interested, I’ll organize it.

Would anyone be down?👉👈
