My new custom Chucks with a color way inspired by the little yellow 45rpm adapters for 7” vinyl singles, paying homage to my love of collecting vinyl records. I got the two speeds you spin vinyl at embroidered on the heel stripe. I thought that was a neat detail. My fiancé hates them lol but I have a feeling you guys will appreciate them.
I went and got the cobweb lamp at Spencer’s today to get it ready for Halloween. I did not like or even understand the decision to use green MF in it so I saved that for a future project and replaced it with MF dyed with Orange Crush from LLC, which I think matches the spooky aesthetic of the wrap better than green 🕷️ 🕸️ 🎃
I play exclusively Alvarez brand acoustic guitars. They have great tone for the money but than besides the point. While browsing enamel pins, I came across this “generic” guitar pin and I immediately noticed the resemblance to Alvarez guitars. The “mustache” bridge and pick guard shapes of Alvarez guitars is exclusive to the company. No one else has those shapes. So of course I had to buy it. Looks great on my denim jacket
For the low sale price of $55, I could t say no.
I have a dive watch that has the kind of lugs that come in quite a bit to make a 12mm lug width. It’s metal link, which I hate, so I want to replace it with a silicone one like the one pictured. Problem is, this is literally the only one I can find and I’m not that much of a fan of it. Does this type of strap have a specific name that would return more results for me? Meaning, the type that have a narrow lug but then opens up to 22mm or 24mm?
Bonermaster thinks he shreds lol 🤡
What causes the bubbles in the wax? It’s hard to see in the video but each blob seems to get pulled up by a bubble. I thought it was the heat so I tried adjusting the power with my dimmer to no avail. It was still doing it. Did I add too much surf?
I bought this Jambo lamp for my desk at work. It was originally yellow wax with purple fluid. After a few months I got bored of it so I took the globe home to swap out the MF to yellow because I really like the black and yellow color way right now. But before I did, I tried out some blue MF I had saved from a previous project that created the blue/green color way. So just one lamp provides at least three different color ways. Ultimately I settled on the yellow color way because, I like that color for a black base right now. But it’s cool to know I can just redraw the color any time I feel like it.
Maybe I’ve just never noticed it but the package of Hebrew National hot dogs I just bought had these floating in the package. Some of it seems to be a bit gelatinous. Is this normal?
They smell normal and aren’t slimy. No red flags other than the residue
I’ve always been envious of those people who post about scoring great guitars on facebook marketplace for cheap. Well, it finally happened to me. This beauty popped up on marketplace last week for under $500. It’s an all solid build Alvarez Masterworks Grand Auditorium. Sitka top with East Indian rosewood back and sides. It retails for $1900 guitar so you can imagine how stoked I was to get it for so cheap. It seems to be in fine working order. I put on a fresh set of strings and she sounds great. I had to drive an hour to pick it up but it was worth the drive, even the 30 minutes of near dead stop traffic I hit on the way home.
It seems to be so wildly inconsistent and it’s pretty frustrating. I have purchased three separate pairs of custom leather Chucks and all three fit a little differently.
The first pair I bought feels perfect. Not loose or tight in any way. I thought cool. Found my size in custom leather Chucks.
So I ordered a second pair not long after the first but they felt a bit narrow in the toes. Nothing I haven’t been able to ignore but still not the same.
I just recently bought a third pair and unfortunately these are tight. Not just a little narrow. Tight in every way. Like, the space between the two sets of lace eyelets is noticeably wider than any other pair of Chucks that I own. Mind you, I’m a skinny dude. I don’t have fat feet or anything. And they also feel very narrow. My pinky toes are in pain by the end of the day. I even double checked I ordered the right size because they honestly feel like the next size down.
For the price of these shoes, it’s frustrating how inconsistent they can be on sizing. Anyway, I’ve filed a claim with Converse to see if I can get a refund because these shoes are just plain uncomfortable, but I’m not optimistic.
I had to pay $10 more just to be able to get the black & white Chuck patch from the wedding collection but I think it was worth it. I was going for a “street” look with these, which I think I nailed. I will say this is my third pair of custom Chucks and all three so far have fit pretty differently. These are a bit snug but luckily not too snug.
Yeah, I know we just got done lighting off fireworks. I’ve been a bit backlogged in my darkroom lol. Just getting around to printing this photo I took back in February. It had snowed a good amount of heavy, wet snow the night before. It was just barely cold enough to snow at all and the forecast indicated it would get up to around 40°F that day so I knew this wasn’t going to last long. I grabbed a camera and headed out. My only regret is that I grabbed a 35mm instead of a medium format. I must’ve been out of 120 film or something. But nonetheless, the sharpness and extremely fine grain of Acros helped me out so I didn’t lose much resolution.

I love this color. It happens to be one of the colors of my son’s school. The other one being gold (golden yellow, not metallic gold) so I want to find some golden yellow laces to wear to my son’s baseball games.
Shameless show off post. I sanded, finished, and installed the two planks of poplar. This isn’t even all of my pieces. Just the ones I can fit on my wall and on the butcher block countertop.

I shot IR in 720nm for years but last year I purchased an 850nm filter strictly for monochrome IR
