I have a new zap:

1. If a Project in Daylite has a new entry, check for a google sheet with the same name as the Daylite Project.

2. If there is not one, make a new one.

3. On the sheet, it's supposed to put in today's date, the object that was added to Daylite, and the title of the object on a new row.

It's choking on the Google Sheet. It will make a new sheet, but there is no way to get the worksheet selected.

I'm sure it's something boneheaded I'm doing.

The AI went berserk and wasn't helpful. It kept making increasingly complex zaps with junk data.

Ok, it's been two months since I received my Lenniere device.

I'm up to doing it for an hour per day (2x 30 minute sessions) I got used to the creepy music (it's a combination of bad synthesizer music for a haunted house and 1980s German techno pop + a rushing sound kind of like a rainstorm) I can barely feel the tongue stimulator (like licking an almost dead 9 volt battery) so I turn up the juice on tongue part.

T is all over the place, but it is less annoying. The "position" of it moved. It used to sound like it was in front, now it sounds like it's between my ears.

It's easier to ignore, and some days, I can barely notice it. On louder days, it's not as bad as before, but still there. I'm able to concentrate more, so I think it's working.

During the sessions, you cannot use any electronica. In my case, I do a session in the morning, while I'm making breakfast, feeding the dogs, tending to a garden, etc. At night, I'll do a second session while laying on a red light mat.

One very interesting side effect I've noticed: I will often have a EUREKA! moment when I'm doing a session on the mat. Some issue that had been perplexing me will all of the sudden present a clear answer.

I don't know if it's because the T is using less brain power (doc's idea), or that I'm forcing myself to relax and not doomscroll for 30 minutes (my idea.)

Either way, it's beyond positive.

Doc said the tongue stimulator has a very limited lifespan and will need a $400 replacement in a few months. However, since I'm responding faster than she anticipated, she thinks I'll be done with the treatments before it wears out.

All in all, I still hear the T, but I'm hearing other things better, and I'm more relaxed, and clearer minded. I'm going to give this a positive rating for now.

I keep manually cleaning it out. I think the hard plumbing kit is aftermarket, so I doubt tech support is going to help. Anyone have any ideas here?

Over Christmas, I had a fraud bill from a pizza place ($800 over five charges)

Disputed it, won the dispute with my credit card.

Discussed it with the chat bot on Uber, said everything is fine, they'd take it off.

They took one of the many fraud charges off, but won't let me me make another Uber reservation or ride until I pay the remaining fraud charge (!)

Tried escalating it to no avail. This has been going on six months.

Any way to speak to a competent human there?

After nearly a decade, my 1B Opal (the real OG prototype) is stuck on the white circle of death. I don't have the time, energy, or skills to repair it.

Found a EUHOMY nugget ice maker on amazon for $150.

While the Opal made some serious ice rather rapidly, it was LOUD to the point where my office was annoyed. I had to set the ice making times on the timer to make ice before everyone got in, and then again at lunch, when everyone was out. I had the side tank, so this thing would make TONS of ice. It's also a beast, weighs a ton, and could probably be used as a weapon if you could lift and throw it at someone.

I purchased the EUHOMY on Prime days for about $150. This unit is smaller, makes a lot less ice, but it's very quiet. It's light weight, easy to move and seems like a less cumbersome machine. The ice chute gets clogged with ice, so you have to manually remove ice nuggets with the included scoop from time to time. The ice is nugget shaped, but significantly harder than the Opal's ice. There's also no timer and no side tank. The bin is less than 1/2 of the Opal's, so it's better for a smaller crowd.

Summary:

Opal: big, heavy, expensive, loud, but makes more ice, has a side tank, timer app, much better (softer) ice

EUOHOMY: light weight (easy to move around), quiet, inexpensive, but no timer, makes harder ice, lower output, and the bin backs up.

Not the best ice, but a decent machine for the money.

Ideally, I'd like something with the path light that integrates with my home automation set up (Indigo, MacOS)

I've had to reset the map a few times because it keeps inventing new rooms in my house.

I moved the base station to a different (smaller room) so it can have a permanent water hookup. It has to exit a regular door, then a very short distance to another door.

I reset the map for this. It couldn't escape through the open door. Ever.

Ok, I turned on the camera and manually drove it through the door. Now, it perfectly mapped the house. YAY!

But...it's doing oddball stuff.

It cleaned a room in one part of the house, spent about five minutes hopping over a 1" threshold, made it, turned around and went back into the room it just cleaned, and is meandering around my house, aimlessly.

It will do this and then run out of battery about 3 feet from the base station.

I honestly think my Dreame is a bit drunk most days.

I had to do a few labs first. One is a cognitive test to see how much neuropasticity I still have. There were a few hearing tests. I have a bunch of loss of high frequency, where my tinnitus lives.

I had a choice between $4k Lenire or $8k hearing aids, or $12k for both.

Insurance covers none of it.

I opted for the Lenire first.

It's a bluetooth padded headphone set that connects to a small gizmo with a "zapper" that you place on the tip of your tongue. You bite gently to hold it in place.

The tongue tip "fizzles" like slightly bad Cole slaw that has started to ferment. You can barely perceive it.

The gizmo itself has a wire to connect to the tongue tip. It also connects to the headphones via bluetooth.

You hit play on the gizmo, and the device will play loud static, with creepy haunting piano music in the background. There's also some oddball chirping music, maybe German 1980s techno pop. There is no timer, so you have to take it off yourself after 15 minutes.

I did one session in the doc's office, where she showed me how to use it. I've done one additional session at home.

You cannot use any electronica during the session. No TV, phone, e-reader. you have to be relaxed, but can't go to sleep. I've taken to playing Scrabble with the wife.

My tinnitus lessens for a few minutes after using it, but it comes right back. Doc said I wouldn't hear results for 6-8 weeks at the soonest, but more like 10-14 weeks.

I have a flood drain that is on the left side of my driveway.

Unfortunately, when there is a heavy rain, all the water takes a hard turn into the driveway, and floods my house.

I need to someone to build a similar drain on the other side of the driveway so it can intercept some of the water before it turns down my driveway, and have it dump into the existing storm drain.

They'll probably have to tear out and redo the ramp. Someone with drainage experience would be nice.

Any referrals would be nice.

I'd like to get a pair of prescription camera glasses that don't look like I'm a 1950s family annihilator.

I have a ton of prescription non camera glasses (thank you, AliExpress $100 specials), and a few are almost passable as regular glasses. but it seems like anything higher end is either laughably ugly, or doesn't have a prescription option.

Anyone find anything worthwhile?

Right now, my gaming laptop is 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 w/ AMD Radeon Pro 5600M (8GB) (it's a 2019 dual boot Mac, that I bootcamp into windows for gaming.)

I'm mainly play older games like Fallout 4/76, Wolfenstein 2, etc.

I also play a lot of old MAME, Wii emulator games.

Would Rog Ally X be a good next step for this?

After years of faithful service, it's finally stuck in the forever defrost cycle.

Is there any place to get this thing serviced? I'm in D/FW, if that matters.

I'm not going to attempt to service it myself. (FWIW, when it was working, it sounded like a jackhammer)

I have a Dreame Ultra 50. For some reason, the iOS app "forgot" the old map, and made a new temp map. On top of that, I can't load the old map that I backed up last month. Tapping on the Restore button does nothing.

Any ideas on how to get the old maps back, or do I just let it redo the map from scratch?

I have quite a few pair of audio only glasses, and I wear them daily. I'm only using them as earbuds, but since I wear glasses anyway, it works very well for me. I have about 4 pair at any given time (I'm constantly losing glasses) All are Ali Express specials (did I mention I lose glasses constantly?) but since they're cheaper than non-bluetooth glasses that I get here (and the Ali express optician is top notch) it works out great for me.

Anyway, I'd like to give glasses with a display a try, but I'd like to make sure I can get prescription lenses for them, and I'd ideally like to get a less expensive pair to test out (and not flip out WHEN I eventually lose them.)

Suggestions?
