opinion: t-mix plans aren’t good

as i’m sure a lot of you already know, the $1,200 iphone 18 pro trade-in offer requires 3 picks.

if you open 3 lines on t-mix loaded, the highest-tier plan, you only get 8 picks total. that means you wouldn’t have enough picks to get the $1,200 trade-in offer on all 3 lines, since that would require 9 picks.

and even if you decide to get the $1,200 offer on just 2 lines, that would leave you with only 2 picks to use toward perks (or other device promotions).

i also don’t like that you can only swap your perks quarterly unless you pay a fee. that’s a pretty long time to wait if you want to change something.

People who were targeted got a text about it about a week ago, but even if you weren’t targeted, there’s a chance you may still be able to get it added manually.

Give a good excuse when you ask. An example:

“I really want to get the iPhone 18 Pro, but I don’t get any good trade-in promos with my current plan. AT&T and Verizon are offering me heavily discounted iPhone 18 Pros if I switch. I’m considering switching over to them tomorrow. I heard there’s a segmented offer called Smartphone Promo with Trade (ID260780), and I was wondering if you could add the segment or a similar segment to my account.”

You can try calling, messaging through social media, or the app.

Please keep this on the down low and don’t leak it to T-Mobile. We don’t want them becoming aware of this.

I’m not sure if this specific targeted offer can be added. Also, someone mentioned in the comments mentioned there’s a different segmented offer that gives $1200 off.

It appears several people were successful in getting the offer (or a similar offer) manually added.

T-Mobile needs a toggle to block voice calls abroad

Right now, the only setting in the app to stop incoming calls is: Block International Roaming (including Charged International Roaming)

The problem is that turning it on completely wipes out the free roaming data and texting that comes with our plans. With roaming calls now at $0.50/min, this is ridiculous. Even if you ignore an incoming call and let it roll to voicemail, you're still billed $0.50 for that minute

A simple "Data & Text Only" roaming toggle is long overdue.

T-Mobile Changed 9L Pricing Logic - My Calculator No Longer Matches Newer Plans

Last month, I suggested using my 9-line calculator’s “override” setting to give the cost of the 9-line Migration Plans. I want to clarify that those calculations are no longer accurate.

I believe T-Mobile has “fixed” the 9-line pricing logic on Migration Plans and the recently launched 2.0 plans. Free lines within the 9-line pool are now receiving smaller credits compared to how they were calculated under the old pricing logic.

If you’re still on ONE, Magenta, Go5G, or the original Experience plans, the calculator is still 100% accurate.

I’m not sure whether the pricing charts and the two calculators I published here brought more attention to the 9-line pricing behavior, or if T-Mobile was already aware of it and decided to adjust the pricing logic on these newer plans.
