Drip coffee jug that can also keep coffee warm for a good while?

I’ve recently gotten an Origami Air M for my afternoon/weekend coffees (I have an espresso setup for the mornings), and I usually pour it directly into the cup, but I found myself having to pour twice because one cup is usually not enough (I usually drink it while reading).

Is there any jug/server that you’d recommend that can also keep the coffe warm for a good while? All Around 500ml would be perfect.

Wrapped my X100v with an alternative to AlphaGvrd skins and it’s great

This is a follow up to the post I made couple weeks ago about finding an alternative to AlphaGvrd skins, since I’m in Europe and with the shipping fee, AlphaGvrd skins cost me like €60.

I went for HineFilm (a brand you can find on AliExpress) and got a Dark Grey skin (I wanted a similar look to the new Metal Grey finish Leica launched for the Q , M11p and D-Lux 8) without the top plate logo cutouts, for which I had to ask the seller to not cut those logos.

For around 25€ , I got what I think is the same product AlphaGvrd offers (even the packaging is the same) and I guess the same quality.

I’d totally recommend it if you want a change or just to protect the camera from scratches.

European Alternative to AlphaGvrd skin wraps?

So I’ve been wanting to wrap my X100V with a vinyl skin, and found AlphaGvrd, but me being based in Italy and the brand in the USA, the final price would come down to €60, which seems a bit too much. Is there any European-based brand with comparable quality? Haven’t found any yet.

I’m specifically looking for a metal grey color similar to the new finish Leica launched (second picture)

I painted mine and now it’s the most beautiful camera I have

So as the tittle says, I painted my X100V’s top cover lettering and dials dark grey since I didn’t like the contrast between white and black and now I’m in love with its looks . Used some Uni Posca and transparent nail polish to fix it.

I tried blacking all out but didn’t like it that much. Now I thinking about getting an Alphagvrd skin in steel grey to wrap it up.

I added some photos taken with this camera at the end of the carrousel

Any experience with vinyl skin wraps? Thinking about wrapping my X100V

I’ve came across lots of different brands of skin wraps, and it seems AlphaGvrd is the most well known, but haven’t found any review regarding durability, precision and such on X100 line. I’d find really useful if you could share your experience and pictures if possible

First week with an X100V

After gifting my wife an X100F as her first camera, I got myself an X100V for a good price (€800 with 15k shutter actuations) and I love it!

The flexibility this camera gives me is awesome. I’m also impressed it resolves quite great detail and sharpness even at f2.

After many years of using Sony (mainly SLT and mirrorless) I finally found a great edc camera to take everywhere. I’ve tried many (from Leicas DLux to Sony RX100s, even mirrorless with pancake lenses) but never felt so good as with the X100v.

Creating and editing my own recipes feels quite intuitive (not much different from creating my presets on Lightroom), though I’d appreciate having more slots to create my recipes . 7 feels a bit restrictive.

I’ll continue using Sony for the rest of my photography deeds (mainly professional shooting and film scanning), but I think I’ll stick to the X100 for quite some time as my everyday carry camera.

PS.: I’m considering blacking out the whole camera (I started with the top plate logo). Has anyone done this?

Alternatives to the Freewell CPL hood?

So as the title says , I’m looking for an alternative hood to use with a CPL filter installed. The Freewell option, while practical, looks hideous. Is there any other option? Maybe a circular hood on a Cpl, so when it turns it doesn’t vignette? Have you tried something similar ?

Left Sony for Fujifilm as my EDC

So after many years of using Sony for my EDC and professional work, I decided to change to Fujifilm (just my EDC, for now).

First, I gifted my wife a used X100F as her first camera and she loved it. I tried it for some days and also fell in love with the experience: having built-in ND, the “tactile” experience and the lovely OVF (my favorite kind of cameras are actually film rangefinders) got me hooked.

So I begun searching for a nice X100F, when I came across this X100V with 16000 shutter actuations and in good condition , except for the battery door that doesn’t stay closed due to the broken little tab, for a very nice price of €800 (half case, haoge hood set, box, several batteries and B+W filter included) I decided to bite the bullet and OH MAN I’M GLAD I DID!

Now I’m in the look for a half case or grip/bracket that improves the ergonomy, since I’m so used to having a nice grip with bigger bodies. Any recommendations on that regard?

Hot shoe repaint

I’ve just purchased this X100V in pretty good condition except for the hot shoe that’s has lost its black paint. Is there any hotshoe cover that covers the entire metal rail? Every cover I’ve seen just covers the contacts.

Saw this at an antique store at €10 and started sweating, but…

As the title says , saw this from afar at an antique store in my city with a price tag of €10 and started sweating. I approached it and found out it was not a Leica M3, but one of the coolest cans I’ve seen. So I had to get it. Can hold 4 film rolls, or many many coins

So the leatherette on my MX is coming off some corners, and it’s my perfect excuse to replace it since I’ve been wanting to put a fancy one on it for quite some time.

Since Aki Asahi is out of stock, I found Hugo Studio, which has a lot of options. I wanted to read some opinions on them, better if you’ve applied it on MXs and have some pictures to show 😁

What about quality, grip, precision and durability? I’d really appreciate it
