This or that

Dear GO community

The Senator Chronometer has been my grail for some years now and I think soon I'll be pulling the trigger , however I am torn between these two modles which I equally like.

I love the red gold and white dial, however there is something very unique about the silver dial with white gold case and applied Roman numerals.

Additionally there is a significant price difference between the two.

Anyone has either of these models ? What are the pros and cons ?

Thank you in advance

Compare & contrast

Went to ALS boutique recently to try on the Lange 1.

As a GO fan I thought the next step up would be A Lange, specifically Lange 1 since I'm a fan of the off center dial and moonphase.

Whilst the Lange 1 is a stunning piece, I felt a bit underwhelmed to be honest. Aesthetically the PML especially the limited edition looks much better in my eyes.

Also the PML is platinum case with a fantastic folding clasp compared to white gold and pin buckle on the Lange.

The Aventurine dial is gorgeous on the PML but the Lange 1 is also v nice.

Movement is where Lange is supposedly superior, which it is in terms of finishing and hand made work gone into it.

But from a technical point of view, the PML has 100 HR power reserve vs 72 hours, and a silicon balance spring so it fares better against magnetism and temp change.

The PML is also 50 m WR, to Lange's 30m

At 40mm the PML suits my wrist better.

The only other upside of the Lange 1 is the thinner profile.

Lastly price, the PML is a Limited edition and can be had brand new with 5 years warranty for the price of a used standard edition Lange 1.

The Lange 1 brand new is about 27k USD more expensive with maximum 3 year warranty.

This is just to push back against that common belief and comments I've seen here and other subreddits when they say "if you're spending 30k or more better go for a used Lange" which , in my opinion, is complete nonsense.

When brute force meets mechanical precision and superior legibility, it can only equal perfection

I've posted about wanting to buy a two tone DJ for my birthday and was debating on the dial colour. Thanks for the feedback of this community, in the end I decided to go with the black dial and I'm very happy with it.

As someone who grw up in the late 80s and 90s, TT watches were v popular and I've always luster after one. Later in life I stuck with SS watches but as I got older the want for the TT grew and one day walking into the Rolex boutique and seeing these beautiful TT DJ watches i immediately knew I wanted one.

The process was straightforward, the boutique had 3 dial option ; black, white and wilmbledon.

I wasn't very impressed with wimbledone dial even though it seems v popular. The white is beautiful and classy but in the end the black dial attracted me more and I pulled the trigger and wore it for my recent birthday.

Have a good evening/morning/afternoon all

Look much nicer and pretty sharp in person. If I didn't have two more divers in the collection I would pulled the trigger immediately. It's as perfect a summer watch as it gets
