I made a post a couple weeks ago showing an issue with the barrel throat overhanging the feed ram; which resulted in my punch “hanging up” when traveling the path of the projectile.

My fix was to reprofile & polishe the barrel throat . I am happy to report this 100% fixed the issue. I have put 500+ rounds through the gun over the last few weeks at several shooting matches and haven’t had any issues with feeding. Nay-sayers be shunned!

I am so jazzed with how this gun came out, especially given how basically every part of this gun is from a different decade of colts production.

Any clue why presumably the rack # was engraved ?

I just got my CMP service grade in; colt frame / RR slide, anyone know a good place to look for finding a matching colt slide ?

If you’re looking for cheap mags , I HIGHLY suggest them. I’ve bought 16 of them so far and have experienced zero issues thus far. I shot probably ~300ish rounds out of 3-5 of them over the last week and they’ve performed great. Also gotta give Mecgar some love, but not all of them for the magwell on my colt.

Intermittent issues with FTF , the round would jam into the base of the barrel intermittently. I believe this to be the issue. I tested with a barrel out of another colt that has zero issues feeding the same ammo. Type to shape the throat of the barrel. #gunsmif

I am absolutely enamored with how this came out. I had this idea in my head and it’s basically 99% of the way there, just waiting on the flared MSH to come back in stock.

I fit the beaver tail, did the checkering, and my brother did the trigger job for me.

Picked up this as part of a trade, having a hard time gauging the value. The end goal is to end up with a Model 27-2 but I’m guessing those two aren’t equal?
