Can one of you sweet Gregs link me that vid?

Bit about Wild Animal Welfare from Louis CK's 2026 Comedy Special Ridiculous

I think this helps illustrate the importance of research into wild animal welfare and I couldn't find the clip anywhere else so I recorded it for you on my shitty setup. If you notice the video stuttering that's probably my fault. However the audio turned out well which is what counts.

Emergency: "'Save Our Bacon Act’ would hurt Michigan’s farmers, rural communities" and farm animals. It's being voted on tomorrow

I just wanted to share a short article on behalf of MI farmers and millions of farm animals nationwide.

This local farmer briefly explains why the Senate vote happening tomorrow is a very big deal and why you can have an outsized influence.

The only thing I'd like to add is that you can reach your Senator Slotkin at at (202) 224-4822 or to urge her to completely keep the "Save Our Bacon Act" out of the Farm Bill.

Phone calls from constituents can genuinely make a big difference and almost every other Americans can't have as much of a difference as Michiganders can on this.

Emergency: Factory farming lobby is trying to undo decades of progress tomorrow

Right now lobbyists are trying to nullify hundreds of state agriculture laws with the so-called Save Our Bacon Act (SOBA). More info my previous posts, but in a nutshell, local farmers with higher standards and many millions of farm animals lose under SOBA while behemoths like Smithfield and JBS would win.

Your Senator Amy Klobuchar is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Ag Committee, which means she's one of the leaders in the Farm Bill markup happening soon.

If you live in this great state, you can really move the needle with a quick call to your Senator (at either Mpls 612-727-5220 / DC 202-224-3244) saying something like "Please keep the Save Our Bacon Act completely out of the Farm Bill".

Phone calls from constituents can genuinely make a big difference and almost every other Americans can't have as much of a difference as Minnesotans can on this.

Just wanted to share a great update about the dangerous Farm Bill

Hey yall, not sure if you saw my distressing posts about the upcoming Farm Bill (and the disastrous effects it could have) but don't worry, this isn't one of them!

I just wanted to thank you so much for the actions you've already taken and share some great news! The Senate recently removed the Farm Bill's destructive provision called the Save Our Bacon Act (aka SOBA or EATS) thanks largely to unprecedented pressure from the public!

Unfortunately big ag hasn't given up yet, and will surely still try to reintroduce that provision into the Farm Bill before it is ratified. However the odds of the SOBA being turned into law have dropped (from about 60% to 20%) since we got involved!

Is this something interesting? Is Share of US-listed stocks that more than DOUBLED in a single quarter a sign of a dumb market?

"What you’re looking at:

The share of US-listed stocks that more than DOUBLED in a single quarter — and specifically ones that were already trending up (above their 200-day average) when the move started."

according to wehavethedata on instagram.

P.S. Tbh I'm not sure how to interpret this data and I was hoping you or Big A could help me out if this is interesting.

MN Gardeners can have a big difference in two shakes of a lamb's tail

Hey again yall! Following up on my post from earlier about your Senator Klobuchar’s major role in shaping the upcoming Farm Bill.

>There are provisions (namely the EATS / Save Our Bacon Act) that could gut around 500 state agriculture laws. Animal welfare advocates and local farmers are sounding the alarm because of how much it could harm farm animals and override local regulations.

I recently found out Sen. Klobuchar’s campaign is actively soliciting input and ideas from constituents through this form:https://www.amyklobuchar.com/submit-your-idea

Because of the campaign, her staff is highly likely to be actively reading and tracking these messages right now. Tbh it will also put you on her email list. But if you have something to say about the Farm Bill, this is probably the easiest way to be heard.

You can even just copy and paste this if you want to make a difference in under a minute:

>Dear Senator Klobuchar,
Please lead the fight to remove the EATS / Save Our Bacon Act provision from the Senate Farm Bill.
Sincerely,
Your constituent

The Twin Cities can make a World of Difference in Two Clicks

Hey again folks! Following up on my post from earlier about Senator Klobuchar’s major role in shaping the upcoming Farm Bill. To recap the main issue:

You can help MN farmers and farm animals in 1 min without even hopping on the phone

Hey again folks! I'm not sure if you saw my earlier post about why Minnesota's Senator Klobuchar is a big shot at a big time.

In a nutshell she's one of the most influential people shaping the Farm Bill which could nullify about 500 state agriculture laws and harm many millions of farm animals. This has many animal welfare advocates and local farmers outraged.

More info in my previous post but rn just wanted to give yall an update:

Sen. Klobuchar is running for governor and her campaign is actively soliciting input from her constituents here: https://www.amyklobuchar.com/submit-your-idea

This means it's very likely her staff will be reading and conveying your input. Just a heads up it will also put you on her email list. But if you have something to say about the Farm Bill, this is probably the easiest way to be heard.

You can even just copy and paste this if you want to make a difference in under a minute:

>Dear Senator Klobuchar,

I'm a New Yorker that never posts about politics but Congress is about to vote on a Farm Bill that has a provision that would nullify most most state-level animal welfare protections. This would sentence many millions of farm animals to life imprisoned in cramped cages.

But luckily it's really quick and easy to help prevent this. I called the House switchboard at 202-224-3121, gave my zip code, they connected me to my rep's office. And it took one more minute to email my representatives through https://defeateats.com/take-action/

So I'm posting because I think a lot of people don't reach out to their reps because they assume it's complicated or they need to know everything about the bill. You don't. You can just say you're a constituent and you want them to vote no in under five mins.

Edit: I didn't expect so many positive response so I didn't mention you can find out more on this shared google doc if you're interested in doing more.

  • For example I hate phone calls as much as the average zoomer but it turns phone calls are weighted more heavily than emails by congressional offices, so this is the most impactful action with just a few mins.
