Anyone know anything about the accident at Knotts Berry Farm today?

Knotts subreddit has a post saying that a little girl was killed on Calico River Rapids but I can’t find any confirmation. I truly hope this isn’t true. Has anyone heard details? I see the fire dept report on PulsePoint but it’s just “medical emergency”. Is she okay?

These conveyers are just so unsafe. :(

Watch party at the Source? Take transit.

With the Mexico vs S Korea game today at the Source in BP I have a tip to avoid traffic. If parking is full at the structure you can park at the Fullerton Park & Ride and take the bus straight to the Source.
Bus route 25 will drop you off right on the corner of Beach and Orangethorpe. You can also take Route 30 and that will drop you off at the same stop.

Only $4 round trip and you can pay with cash or card on the bus.

How Knott's overtook Disney as the best California park.

I know there are some diehard Disney fans/Disney adults waiting in the shadows to strangle me, but hear me out:

For what it is now, Disney is way too expensive, crowded, stressful, and becoming more of a chore to visit than Knott's.

Pricing wise of course Knott's will always be cheaper in every single way, aside from the Fast lane. However, what's behind that admission price is some of the best non Disney/European park theming you'll get at any American park - every single area has its own identity, and carries either rich history or is a love letter to various cultures from California. And it doesn't stop at the main areas, rides like the Calico Mine Ride and Timber Mountain Log Ride all have that classic Disney ride essence you'd get from Pirates, Haunted Mansion, etc, not to mention TMLR is straight up better than Tiana's (if it was splash mountain I'd be singing a different tune). But not only that, there's also a higher level of thrill rides you can find here, including one of California's best 1-2 punches in coasters, Ghostrider and Xcelerator, both elite experiences. And camp snoopy - even after the controversial rennovation, still remains one of the best kids' areas.

Crowds are still a pain point of Knott's, ESPECIALLY during scary farm - the park is too small to handle its demand as Disney dumps its leftover crowds here. I can't really decide who's worse at their worst, so both parks are both equally as guilty.

And lastly, the food - some of the best theme park food out there. When you're 5 minutes away from a major tourist destination, you HAVE to be competitive with food as well, and they go above and beyond, from the chicken dinner restaraunt to everything they offer in the park.

But the last thing that FINALLY let me decide that Knott's is better than Disney - you do NOT need to plan out a laundry list of everything you must do to make sure your day isn't miserable. Even on the crowded days, as long as you know to just do rides in the back first and move your way to the front you can STILL just walk up to most rides and decide to go on, while Disney at least one person must be on their phone at all times making every single calculated decision so that their family isn't miserable. Knott's and hell even Universal and Magic Mountain give you that ability to breathe and just go "hey let's go on this next".

So in conclusion - its cheaper, has amazing theming, an incredibly diverse ride line up, and great food, but maybe the same level of crowds. But most importantly, you dont have to do hours of planning and staring at your phone to have a good time. *mic drop*

Likely Abandoned Dog - Buena Park

I went to grab Portillo’s (La Palma Ave & Dale Ave) for lunch today and as soon as I got out of my car a dog ran from a van across the parking lot up to me and wanted attention. She was incredibly friendly. I told the guy nice dog and he said it’s not his but he fed her tuna. The dog continued to follow me and then ran inside the Portillo’s restaurant as someone else opened the door who was leaving.

The Portillo’s staff was incredible. One of them had an extra leash in their car so they were able to leash her and prevent her from running into traffic. They gave her food and water.

A young couple was walking into the restaurant and we talked about how this pup likely had been abandoned. They said they were going to take her and see if she has a chip. If an owner can’t be found they said they have dogs at home and can take care of her.

So heartbreaking to see, but also so much love from complete strangers who wanted to help.

If this is your dog and you accidentally lost her, this is her story from today and I hope she returns home. If you abandoned her, shame on you.

Does anyone know if there are any clothes donation resources available?

We live in the middle of the evacuation zone so we can’t go home to get some of our things. When we evacuated, we left with just a couple items we could quickly grab on our way out.

Running low on funds as well so buying clothes isn’t really an option right

Edit: wow. I’m seriously blown away by how many of you are jumping in to help. Thank you so much everyone. During a time of weakness, I ended up going back home to grab my clothes/essentials before I checked this post. so I am all set.

However, please feel free to use this post for anyone else that needs help with clothing. I love this community.
