Looked like a harsh season...

The Oceanside Pier used to be a cool place to go fishing.
Hopefully it's still allowed when they rebuild the end.

I was today years old when I realized that they protect our privacy by not placing our names on the receipts 😅

This was probably one of the more interesting flavor profiles I've tried.

Next time I'll make the 3x3 animal style.

Side Note:
Ordering fries "light well" is now my new favorite obsession! Thanks to those who recommended it!

What was life REALLY like back then in the O?
Was Oceanside as bad as people said it was?

Is the current Oceanside heading in a good direction?
Sure, the city has cleaned up.
The Oceanside economy has shifted away from relying on military funding and relies more on tourism.

But it appears they are making another shift and planning on filling the downtown area with an affluent population who can afford $4000/rent and who will sustain the gentrified prices that will come with the property value increase.

Or have they overcorrected too much and will we turn into the next Huntington Beach?

Every time I ask people about In-N-Out, their most frequent complaint is always about their soggy fries.

Then I read in the comments that you can customize your fries to be crispier if you ask for "well done".

I did this and made it animal style, and it turned out great.

Has there ever been a time where you had crappy service here?

Every year we dredge.
We spend a lot to maintain our beach & our sand here in Oceanside.

Oceanside, California 1951 ⤵️
Life was a lot different back then.
The emphasis was on the growth of a military town and an opportunity for our service members to complete their training and even build a life in the city they were familiar with.
Many completed their training and had an opportunity to purchase a home and start their family in Oceanside.

Oceanside Harbor 1967
The city already ended the Local Harbor Nights Festival.
There was also talk about the city management in the talks of "revamping" the Harbor Village, which involved demolishing the current structures to built in the 15-minute city model : 4+ stories, retail at the bottom & residential on top.

Looking at Dana Point Harbor, is it currently going through massive remodeling and construction.
Buildings & Businesses over 30 years old are being demolished.

People have said that Oceanside Harbor is next.

Remember to make memories with photos & videos next time you're out by the harbor.
