Been researching for a while... still can't decide

My 13 year old has been asking for an electric dirt bike for a while now. He has a small eBike, which works fine (wheel is wobbling a little, LOL), but he is getting bigger and the ebike is getting smaller. He is 5'7", thin build, and still growing.

I've been leaning towards the Heybike Villain, but still unsure. There are so many options. I'd like to stay in the $1200 or lower range.

Would we be disappointed in the Heybike? Any comparables that are better overall? I assume come November; we may see some deals rolling with Black Friday?

The controversial topic... Pitching off szn

Son is going to 14U. Last season, he played nearly 70 games across the season between travel and middle school ball playing catcher, 3rd, short, outfield, and pitching.

He didn't pitch 12U until the last month of the season. We decided to put him in lessons the entire summer and took a month break over the winter. Towards the end of the 13U season, he began complaining of arm pain. We agree it started at a practice that they heavily worked on throw downs at catcher. His coaches respected him and pitched him rarely towards the end. I think he pitched in 3 games in the last 5 tournaments when he said he felt good.

We talked it over and decided to not touch a baseball after the World Series trip mid-June.

He is ready to get back at it. We don't start practice until after Labor Day. I would agree to start slow and ramp up when practice starts. When would you start it with your kid? Now? 2 weeks? I've been really cautious with him and his arm care. We don't believe he will catch much in 14U with some of the new kids selected to the team which I am OK with.

Chime

How long do you have to keep the $200 direct deposit in the account for the cashback? Can you transfer it immediately after direct deposit hits? Is the only requirement the initial DD?

Cruise Price Adjustments?

How exactly does this work? Our travel agent said that if the price drops to let her know, but we booked with a casino deal on probably a popular cruise. Do we have to monitor the original price? Any suggestions for services that will watch this for you?

My booking details don't show the original price prior to the casino deal, so I guess my question is how do I know what price to monitor?

Parking in Galveston?

We are cruising early next year on the Jubilee out of Galveston for 8 days. Where do you guys park? $268.14 for Port of Galveston is a bit steep.

Galveston Park and Cruise any good? It's $200 there for gated parking. Any other suggestions or warnings for the area? We've never been to Galveston.

Son wants to sell his very used 2026 Supra... what are they worth?

We were debating on the value. It is very used with suprisingly no cracks, but the end has alot of scuffs and a few on the barrel. It has been a very good bat, but going to 14U, can't use the -5 anymore in any of the local orgs. I told him $100. He thinks $200.

Yealink S80 Room Troubles

Anyone have experience with these? If RoomConnect is installed, the camera doesn't work. Uninstall RoomConnect and the camera works with the system.

Interesting enough, in Device Manager, the camera is enabled/working without RoomConnect. As soon as you install RC, the device gives an Error 45 which states the device isn't connected to the computer.

Such a bazaar issue. Been trying to get through to support for a while now. Can't get through the AI chat bot hurdle yet.

Inconsistencies... website and app

Anyone notice deal Inconsistencies between the website and the app?

Logged into the app today. Noticed Chime is $175. I like to do everything on the PC since it's quicker. Logged into Rakuten.com and it's $100 on PC.

Curious if this is common. I've never really checked the differences.

Anyone ever bring their own beach umbrella?

We purchased a Solbello Beach Umbrella over the summer and used it a few times. It's one of those that works with the wind blowing it. I've never noticed anyone actually bringing their own umbrella, but I see online it is allowed. Anyone ever do this? How were your experiences? It isn't obscenely large, but it is about 4' long in the case. I'd have to carry it around, which is what I am debating. With the kids, we are planning on staying on the beach of Half Moon Cay for the majority of the day.

Is there a better deal to save money on cruise fares?

Is there a better deal to save money on cruise fares more than Rakuten currently?

• Get the Rakuten American Express card
• Buy Carnival gift cards on CardCash through Rakuten

Savings stack like this: 8% off gift cards + 1% Rakuten cash back + 4% Rakuten AMEX cash back = 13% off your cruise.

I am open to suggestions on better deals. I'm already using Rakuten so the referral bonus for new signup isn't relevant.

Dicks 20% off and the 2027 Supra?

Anyone use the 20% off coupon with the 2027 Supra?

We are looking to do a team fundraiser to raffle a couple of bats. Dicks is an hour away, so don't want to go if the coupon won't work.

HooplaDoopla

I use Rakuten and HooplaDoopla. Rakuten has been pretty solid for the last 15 years I've used it. HooplaDoopla, I've recently noticed they've given the wrong CB% and support has been pretty nonexistent. Anyone have suggestions on getting them to correct it or will I be wasting time?

Basically, they gave 1% when it should have been 2%. Fairly large purchase, so looking at a $60 difference.

What's your honest thoughts on the REV1X?

My son is going into his final year of travel/middle school ball and playing high school next year. I told him he could look for a new glove this offseason. He has been dead set on a REV1X. I am not... mainly the price tag. We visited a Rawlings store over the weekend, and the sales guy was hyping up the REV1X (understandably... it was the most expensive glove in the store).

Will this thing last for 5 years? Is it that much better than a HOH or A2000?

▲ 2 r/Braves

Why have the Braves had a carousel of catchers this season?

  1. Drake Baldwin
  2. Joey Bart
  3. Jair Camargo
  4. Jonah Heim
  5. Sandy León
  6. Sean Murphy
  7. Chadwick Tromp
  8. Austin Wynns

The total is 8 catchers. I understand that we paid Sean Murphy and he's been hurt. I understand Drake was also hurt, but 6 others? Why didn't we stick with one of the other cheap contracts?

Can someone help? Looking for info on the Jubilee Lido Deck Balcony....

Considering a balcony room on the Jubilee... specifically cabin 16239. My wife is under the assumption from videos on Tiktok that this balcony is set back and there will be lounge chairs on the deck in front of the balcony 1 floor down. Can anyone confirm this or does the balcony have a direct view of the ocean?

Any idea if the noise will be bad in the area? From the deck plans, I wouldn't think so?

Has anyone done a bat raffle as a fundraiser?

Looks like my usual corporate sponsorship from work is ending for my son's travel ball team. Not a huge deal, I guess. New owners, new rules.

Anyway, I was thinking of doing a couple of bat raffles if I can get ahold of the Soldier Tank or new Supra. Has anyone done this? If so, did you use some sort of online platform to sell the tickets and choose the winner?

Our team isn't a true nonprofit, so I may have to pay for it, which I am fine with if reasonable. I am tired of asking people for money with nothing in return for them.

Mardi Gras or Jubilee

We have a 5 hour drive to Galveston or an 11 hour to Port Canaveral. 2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 - 8 year old. Not flying.

Wife wants to go on the Jubliee 8 days in May 2027. $3700.

I want to go on Mardi Gras 7 days in February 2027. $2200.

What would you do? 7 days is a lot.. 8 days seems too much.

Son invited to non denom church camp

My son was invited by his teammate to attend a 4 day church camp with him. He wants to go, but I don't feel like it may be the best situation for him to be in as a Catholic. It is nondenom, which I admire their dedication to Christ, but the parent has been vocal for their dislike of the Catholic church and has shared this in the past, which always stuck with me. Is it wrong to not want him going?
