After over a decade of searching, I've finally acquired my white whale holy grail piece of music merch

Shout out to everyone here and elsewhere who already owned this who I annoyingly DMed over the years offering to buy this. After so much time and missing out on the couple of times I've seen it get put up for sale over the years, I'd kind of accepted I'd never own this poster commemorating the best show I've ever seen.

In absolute mint condition as well!

You may ask, "how much did you pay for that?" and the answer is Too Fucking Much, but it's worth it for me, I got my wife's blessing, and I really did feel this sense of "now or never" when I saw this pop up.

So stoked to have this. Gonna display it proudly (behind some UV protective glass).

Seasons 3 and 4 are my favorite and are what made me truly fall in love with this show

DISCLAIMER: I'm writing this up top after writing everything below. I had an extremely complicated relationship with my late father who really resembled Donna in a lot of ways, I'm a recovering addict myself, for a number of reasons I truly feel like I relate to many of the personal turmoils of both Carmy and Richie, and I also have a pipe dream of being a chef in some capacity as preparing food is my main passion. So, all of these things are possibly influences on why I loved the turn this series took with these two seasons.

I feel like I'm losing my mind when I see the discourse about this show about how supposedly subpar the third and fourth seasons are, because for me they through-and-through brought me so much emotion.

The backstories, the relationship dynamics, the insights we get into the characters, the cinematography and direction and the way the showrunners allow scenes to just breathe sometimes. It all just feels extremely human and I kept getting brought to tears regularly.

I know I shouldn't get hung up on other folks' opinions, and I do generally just leave alone because in a sense I get it, but I can't help but want to tear my hair out when I see folks chime about this show going downhill with S3. To me it's when the show became its most human, its most real, regularly delivering scenes that would regularly make me really reflect and at times just dissolve into a puddle of feelings.

It took me a couple months to prod through the first two seasons as I'd just watch it when I felt like it, but starting with season 3 I was hooked and properly binged it. About halfway through season 5 now and still loving the ride.

My wife has been talking about getting an espresso machine to replace our horrible old Keurig... I knew she'd never pull the trigger herself so she's gonna come back from an out of town trip to this nice newbie setup

My wife is more stringent than me when it comes to money and so is reluctant to make bigger purchases... But I just know this is something she needs (and really, we both need). She's a daily coffee drinker and has leaned more toward espresso drinks for a long time now, but the Keurig machine we have just makes awful espresso. I'm thinking this will be a welcome surprise!

Playing 3v3 with a two-player party as your teammates is the worst.

I'm sure I'm not the first to say this, but it's such a frustration and I've always wondered why it's allowed, especially since the Solo Standard/3v3 playlist was rid of years ago.

Far more often than not, the two partied players on will play as though the third solo player isn't even there. It makes you wonder why they're bothering to play threes.

As the third leg, your best bet is to usually just back them up and play conservatively/defensively the whole time, because those two will just go for most every shot/challenge without considering the third player may be in a better position to do so. And that's just a really simultaneously boring and aggravating way to play.

I've long wanted (hopelessly) for the Solo Standard/3v3 playlist to be resurrected, but it's not because I don't like playing with randos against partied three-player teams, it's because I cannot stand playing on the same team with two partied players.

Between allowing this and getting rid of Solo Standard I sometimes feel as though this game is actively hostile toward people that enjoy 3v3 but don't want to be in a party. I know that's an overreaction but damn, it kills my enjoyment of the game a fair bit.

Looking for local recommendations to get a vintage floor lamp repaired

I have an old, beautiful Koch & Lowy floor lamp passed down from my parents that seems to have crapped out in some way. Given this thing might be worth more than my car with 190k on it (joking, but it is precious to me), I want to leave any diagnosis and repair up to a pro.

Any recommendations for a local business that could help me out? The last time I needed a repair like this, it was in my smaller hometown and I was helped by my mom's friend that owned a vacuum + computer repair store, but he really just fixed anything. Wondering what similar may be around here.

Thanks in advance!

I have an old Koch & Lowy floor lamp from the 80's that uses a halogen linear bulb; after owning the lamp for about 12 years with daily use the bulb finally went kaputt

Sorry in advance if this ain't the right place. I'm no expert as you'll be able to tell by my question.

Here is a link to the kind of lamp I have and here's a photo of my toasted bulb.

I love this lamp and want to keep using it, but I know halogen bulbs are inefficient and burn hot (which has a neat side effect of being a bug killer but probably not worth the fire hazard with two dogs and eventually a kid potentially).

Here is a photo of the top feat. some of the aforementioned bugs... I'll clean it out before getting this going again haha

Are there other options for a lamp this old or am I stuck with halogen? The light is extremely bright at its max brightness and soft, both of which I love, so if there are LED options could they replicate those?

Thanks in advance... I get the sense this might be a dumb question but I just want to try to confirm before I purchase anything

Two years ago, my wife and I had our first dance to Mystery of Love

We cannot take credit for the choreography as we attempted to follow the video from the Wedding Dance Tutorials YouTube account move for move (https://youtu.be/k4wdYLF1xXI?si=OtE8lUSZJ0XP6q3j) .

We're obviously not as talented/graceful as the folks in that video but I'm always so proud of how this turned out!

It's insane this team still has Cole, Rodon, and Schmidt yet to return. This rotation has been everything expected of them and then some, with Gil being the odd man out but I still have optimism for him.

Fried's 6 IP, 0 ER performance tonight lowered his ERA from 3.011 to 2.9946 (rounding down to 2.99).

He's gradually approached this since joining the Yankees as he's had a 2.71 ERA in 242.2 IP across 39 starts with the squad.
