Battle of the bots?

I have a 51mm DeLonghi portafilter that cannot be tamped flat without damaging 2 plastic distribution nozzles. I used a small wood block that is drilled out to protect the bottom distribution area of the portafilter. The foam pads ‘fill in’ the curved portion of the base. The clear plastic disc under the handle levels out the assembly.

This has helped my workflow, with more consistent tamping, and I can safely apply as much pressure as needed. Virtually no cost to make, lol. I am a retired manufacturing engineer and worked for fun in a big box store where some people called me MacGyver. Cheers

I am just starting and this is my inexpensive setup that I have had for just 2 weeks. Just thought I would share. It is a DeLonghi Linea Classic and a Neretva Grinder. After a little experimentation, I am very pleased with the results so far.
