Because

Hot Saturday, tired and hungry. Diced yellow onions underneath the cheese. Buns are toasted for a moment only. Salt and pepper on the beef. Pickles, mustard, ketchup. Mozzarella cheese this time, not sure why.

My first Father’s Day and I’m on a diet. (swipe)

A triple stack layered with chopped green long hot chillies and sliced Vidalia onions, American cheddar blend, prepared mustard, and a flat bun lol

Burgers are the most standardized thing we have going for us, but it’s the unique, relentless, and endless amount of variation and creativity one can bring to the table or plate, or in tinfoil, parchment, and perhaps a woodblock.

Sharing this burger moment with my little one 🤘, Happy Father’s Day.

I did it.

Alright! Finally! After years! Jumping from DAW to DAW! Due to work of course, and getting back into composing/producing now - I couldn’t find my desert island DAW.

Until now, I officially have Cubase 15 Pro.

Opened up one of the templates, and right away it was a breath of fresh air, the colours and the new design. Also, the new sampler track and modulators, had my interest since but just being able to have that control and extended reach for things, makes me excited for the mix, production or anything.

How’d everyone feel about going into Cubase recently? Or any converters from Logic Pro? Etc. Curious to hear.

Why is OHMS so good?

After listening to private music about a hundred times or more, couldn’t help but listen to OHMS on Hi-Res Lossless today; I used my Beats Studio Pro (plugged in via USB-C)

“It’s beauty meets aggression”— the visceral tone and darker elements shape it up to be superior in its genre. private music had a tone that became addictive; OHMS had a caution. It’s very interesting from an audio engineer’s perspective.

Anyway, how does everyone feel about OHMS and private music lately? Both have grown on me, but private music has been on repeat mostly.

Friday mornings 🌅

About a week and more back into Maschine, and I just can’t get enough.

I can truly understand the complaints, the requests, and the wish list that many of you have for the software. However, with what’s available right now on the market, if you own a powerful computer— whether it be a Mac or Windows. The Maschine is by far the greatest piece of gear available out of everything after all these years.

I say this because I put myself through it, tried and tested a lot of things, but there is nothing that allows you to express who you are like Maschine does.

Just my honest opinion.

Does anyone else feel like Maschine is the best thing for them?

Curious…

As a long time Logic Pro user, been curious towards sole workflow hacks, tips and tricks or secrets.

Does anyone have anything to share?

Maschine reigns supreme / Universal Audio's LUNA still young

Earlier with my post there was excitement for LUNA, the new DAW breaking ground and UA developing their own ecosystem, which is fair and the right thing to do - No haste or negative torture towards them.

After having fun recording into LUNA, I came to realize that automation does not have curve points, it's click and drag or automation to be written in, which was a bummer, because with LUNA being very young and under developed at this stage it brings awareness towards how much more time it may need to be fully versatile.

It sounds great and as I said before, I got about 80% completed in Maschine directly without recording out, printing etc, as we all know resampling works wonders.

So, all be it, heading back over to Logic as my main DAW of choice, it just does what it needs to do and having the iPad handy, I can touch fader and have the automations work wonders. When composing, automation is significantly important and I'm realizing that LUNA is geared towards recording live, which I love and tested it out as well. Sound's really good.

Someone said earlier how they use it to mix and master, which makes all the sense in the world.

Has anyone completed most of their projects in Maschine and then went into a DAW, if so, which DAW? Or do you complete everything inside Maschine? Including mixing and mastering?

Curious to hear and know.

First day / Luna

Morning!

Can’t believe it’s my first day back into composing/producing, after a little time off.

Excited for this week ahead of me for where things may lead and tail off. The most important part, the Maschine is back in full cockpit mode.

Spent this past week re-installing instruments, samples and various goto plugins. All my second nature tools are set.

Question to the community - Has anyone used Luna? If so, with my loopback setup internally, the goal is to have my group outs (8out) track out to Luna (8in) - For full recording after arrangement.

Reason for this? Luna is boasting incredible tape like recording, with Neve, API and Studer extension to give that full raw/analog sound and control. Thought it would be neat to do so, being able to do at-least 80-90% in Maschine and print the stems in Luna.

P.s Could also record/print other sounds, and arrangements within the timeline structure performed live as well. Expanding channels and shifting down the 8in tracks to non-routed tracks and so forth.

I’m back.

Some know and some don’t - Previously I had a moment or perhaps a crisis, if that’s alright to say? Lol

Stepped away for a few months from the Maschine and decided to mangle myself up to what’s been new, popular, and different. This included DAWs as well, and also utilizing the brand-new MPC Live 3 - Which was great but not for me.

With many things tried and tested, nothing really gave me an ounce of inspiration or even a workflow that made sense to me.

After all that time spent internalizing a debate and a solution, it was time to go back home. To a place that knew and understood me.

There’s something magical and wonderful about the Maschine workflow, integration, and the entire ecosystem it’s built on. With Logic as the backbone support, it’s been a breeze, welcoming, and just more awe-inspiring as to how many things that are out there and nothing comes close to what they’ve achieved here with the Maschine. IMO.

Anyone else feel this way? Or tried something else but something kept bringing them back to Maschine?

I did it.

To be honest, I had massive hesitation over this; basically, couldn’t let go of the pad workflow, coming from Maschine for the past 15+ years and letting go was tougher than my exes.

Therefore, I decided to go all iPad, like Madlib, it’s doable with Koala, AUM and an interface then straight into Logic for further arranging, producing - Then off to mixing and mastering.

I’m nervous, because even after using the Live 2 and One+, they felt underpowered and non-connective for other sound modules. With the USB C connectivity directly into the Mac, I could utilize logic efficiently with the tracks going in and also out, via audio or midi (Using KK for a channel to trigger drums or even Noire for my piano)

Again, got 31 days for a full refund, if needed.

Saw many things online, read a lot and I hope this can replace my Maschine flow into the MPC flow. Also got a NI KK M32 for keys.

Really hope this new venture into the MPC brings out the better part of my creativity, I’ve been rusty for a bit.

🤘

The new updates bring a wealth of ease/workflow additions for Komplete keyboard owners, however, nothing outstanding in the 3.5 update except a new UI design for the sampler in mixer view.
