This is a long-standing annoyance, but essentially, you order plugins in a bundle and the only thing that shows on the receipt/invoice is the name of the bundle.

You can find some of the dates from iLok Manager, but that appears to be only native plugins. The plugin list under the account section is literally a useless paginated list of plugins with no functionality (I miss the old one that was a single page, but can't remember if that gave more details).

As plugins are preinstalled, you can't search for files that were installed in plugin folders, but there might be a local manifest that tracks activations.

I keep a spreadsheet of the orders, so I'm just trying to fill that out, but I'm not completely sure which ones I bought (52 total) and which were with what bundle.

It's not a major issue, just an annoyance as I would expect this information to be available somewhere in the account section.

I'm moaned a bunch of times about some things, but this is the first time I've seen such low prices on the plugins that it actually hoping things are okay with UA. Is everything okay?

Basically, a month ago I was pointing out that getting the third-party plugins from their respective sources made sense over getting versions that are locked to UAD hardware.

So I did just that. Spent about $185 on getting about 13 plugins on PluginAlliance, 12 of which were also offered by UA and locked to UAD hardware.

Well, when I checked the latest on UA plugins, I saw that the custom bundles were slashed in half AND had double the plugins.

At these prices, the 6 + 6 Custom Bundle is $12.42 per plugin, and the 10 + 10 Custom Bundle is $12.45 per plugin (slightly higher).

I went for the 10 + 10 and wound up buying most of the very same UAD plugins that I recently bought from PA because it's so cheap and it's nice to have alternates.

I guess I'll make a second pass and get all the amp sims and other plugins I don't need but would be nice to have.

Episode thumbnails and descriptions are lies, mismatched wildly. Episode 16.7 (2018) is supposed to be Joe Wilkinson and Victoria Coren Mitchell, but instead it plays Episode 27.1 (2025).

They don't even list past season 19, and whatever is claimed to be seasons 18 and 19 are only available from the upgrade to Britbox, but somehow they are streaming season 27 episodes?

What they call season 12 episode 7 is actually 18.6.

The whole thing is screwed up.

Just received an impassioned pitch email from Commodore trying to push the new flip phone.

Does anyone remember Commodore making bad business decisions that ultimately led to it's demise? I sure do. I was one of those guys in the the early 2000s making special trip to a store in Germany that was listed as a Commodore vendor only for the store to have nothing Commodore, and the guy telling me that it's over.

They did have a German Commodore 64 magazine that was still in publication, so I picked that up, but realized that it truly was over at that moment.

Yes, Commodore started with calculators, and I greatly appreciate that the Commodore Ultimate has been mass produced, but I think this whole phone thing was a miss and not the part of Commodore I would like to see resurrected.

I'm not trusting this whole disconnect narrative that Christian is pushing, nor do I want to disconnect. I'm sure I'm not alone and that his mission is his own mission, rather than the Commodore community's.

Essentially, the Inbox column which displays all your messages contains thumbnail, subject, and a couple lines of content preview.

What I'm seeing is someone saying something like, "Hi <name>, are you able to help…"

When I open the message, I do not see that ANYWHERE.

I also would love to check the actual email source, but that option is nowhere I can find that. I can only seen to view the headers, but not the full email source.

This is one of those hard to search issues, everything that came up didn't relate to this issue.

Any suggestions?

I was just messing around in the expedition and someone came running up guns blazing. I don't really care about dying in an expedition, so I'm fine with a battle if someone wants to, but this player's MT seemed unnaturally overpowered.

On the ground at one of those Colossal Archives, just played like any run and gun, trading shots, but they used the Pulse Splitter and was additionally taking heat damage so I had to keep my distance. I ducked into the archive room and the player jumped in their Sentinel ship and began blasting, but not really landing any hits.

I jumped into my Sentinel ship and took off and came back around, seeing that they were now running on the archive platforms near the vendors. I hovered and shot at them, but it seemed to have no effect. They too ran for cover like I did. I hovered in wait for them to emerge, but they didn't.

I then had a concern that I was actually mistakenly attacking someone else. So I flew off to look who else was in the area, but it seemed to only be us two in the immediate area. So flew back still unsure if it was the same player or not and just hovered above them.

They shot my Sentinel ship with overcharged shielding +30 +30 +37 and destroyed it with their MT in about 1 second or less.

I know about the site that you can maximize your MT to get insane damage, but I've never downed a ship with a MT ever, much less in a second. Is this something beyond what would be normally possible?

I flew back grabbed my items and looked for them again. This time we did some dog fighting in space, but it lead to nothing but us just jousting without doing anything. They launched rockets which missed 19 out of 20 times, the one time they hit, it did some strong damage. I just recharged the shield and realized it was pointless to dogfight, I just summoned the Anomaly and finished my round before I quit for the night.

Just adding this because Google is great at indexing Reddit posts. Hoping this helps prevent someone getting scammed.

This has been a long-standing issue. I was previously on Mac OS 12 or something, but currently running the latest. It happened on both OSes, so not necessarily related to OS.

Essentially, plugins like UAD Precision Limiter will "work," but it will stop updating the drawing. Only the initial draw works, so whatever the meters draw as are stuck and will not update. The plugin appears to be functional, just failing to redraw. Changing the plugin display size will update once, but similarly will not redraw.

I've tried restarting my UAD devices, restarting Pro Tools. I've tried killing the UA processes and restarting the UAD Meter & Control Panel, UAD Console, and UA Connect.

The only thing that fixes this is a system reboot, which is annoying to have to do to fix this issue.

Plenty of DSP and processing power available, that's not the issue.

Also, other plugins by other makers are still working as expected. This is limited to UAD plugins.

I have nearly all except for a couple of the newest UA plugins, but not the all of third-party plugins (Sonnox, C-Suite, Brainworx, etc.). I was looking at what I could fit into a 10+10 Custom Bundle for $499 but backed out.

It dawned on me, one of my major complaints is that UA originally said that "Native" versions would be free upgrades when they first started, but then started charging a couple dollars, then more, and nearly all of the UAD plugins I don't have are Apollo only.

If and when they decide to just offer these plugins as Native (which PluginAlliance and Sonnox already offer), they probably would want owners of the Apollo versions to pay on top of that.

Because they are third-party and available elsewhere, they may have no motivation to offer them as Native. If that is so, then having these plugins locked to old SHARC processors makes no sense when there is readily available versions that aren't hardware-locked.

I don't know why it took so long for me to realize this. I know there is a part of me that just wants to "collect them all," but when it comes down to it, I have everything I need already.

And while getting these plugins at $25 a pop is lower than currently available from the official markets, there will come a time that Apollo will be retired. On the flipside, a yearly subscription to PA will give you 10 perpetual licenses for $299 as well as complete access to all their other plugins. If only for those licenses, that's $30 a pop, which is not bad and also isn't hardware-locked.

I love the UAD plugins, but they aren't the only game in town.

Update: I purchased 12 plugins from PA that were the rough equivalents of the plugins offered by UA. There is one important distinction I hadn't considered, which is the "mix" versus "master" versions of the plugins. PA just has one version for elysia alpha, while UA versions are split into mix and master versions.

Apparently, (there wasn't a direct source I found and this comes from AI) the master versions have greater oversampling and the mix versions are supposedly lower CPU.

How these actually compare, I don't know, but it's something to consider when subbing out for the versions from the other vendors.

The Maag EQ4 sells the plain and MS versions separately, while UA bundles them together.

Also, the SPL Transient Designer that PA has is the Plus version, while UA sells an older version.

And lastly, UA sells the bx_masterdesk Classic while PA gives it away for free.

I really liked a particular clothing brand, so I went searching for their website. I found an "official" website that actually was just a fake storefront that redirects to their own products being sold on Amazon as well as using their referral code.

As if that wasn't enough, I searched again and the next website that was doing the same thing.

It appears the company no longer is operating, so these scammers are pretending to be the company only to try and sell you their random letter brand-named products.

Now, I'm getting suggestions for their products weeks later with no immediate option to remove the suggestions.

The B&H site pushes this card and has promotions tied to it, so I figured apply.

Applied and immediately they request that you call in to verify details and then request that you send in two documents, one with your DL and another with a utility bill.

So, during that initial call that was a minute after applying, I spoke with someone that said a phone bill would be fine. Sent in to their long email address which they relay over the phone and not provide online.

I called a couple days later as I didn't receive a confirmation that my documents were received. The guy confirmed that they received an email from me, but had no other information.

A couple more days later, I received a letter requesting that I submit documents, but it's dated the same day as the application, so I assume they just send this out automatically regardless if you had already done it or not.

Still, I called in again and this time the guy I spoke with said that they are sending out a letter with a response and couldn't say what that response.

That response letter arrives and it says, "due to receiving incomplete or missing documents" that they can't proceed.

I called in yet again, asking why they didn't tell me there was an issue with the documents sent in. The woman had no answer, said that a phone bill would not be accepted as a utility bill. I explained that one of their people said it would, but still, I called multiple times to make sure everything was submitted properly. She said there wasn't a way to amend the application with new documents, so I'd have to reapply.

So I reapplied after hanging up. Then again, had to call in to verify details and when speaking with that person, they said that you have to wait 30 days to reapply. I was livid. Two hard pulls on my credit and the woman that told me to reapply said nothing about having to wait 30 days.

Regardless, I sent in a bank statement this time with my DL (which was explicitly stated as a supported document).

Well, today I received the second response letter and again, it said "due to receiving incomplete or missing documents" and so forth.

I'm done messing around with this nonsense.

Apparently, there is a way to request that they remove the hard pulls, so I'm looking into that.

In some programs you can change the playback rate and record at that speed, then return to the real speed to do time stretching that doesn't have formant chunking.

If I still used my Windows box for audio work, it would be simply changing the playback rate in Audition and done. I think WaveLab allows this too.

In Pro Tools, I am able to playback at half-speed and record, but that it full chipmunk mode one octave up, but I want to do precise speeds to achieve the same thing a harmonizer would do, but naturally.

I started with The Planet, actually had a couple friends working there in Texas, and eventually Softlayer acquired them. Everything was great in those days. I could call in to support, speak to a human that was actually in the US at the datacenter itself.

IBM Cloud eventually acquired Softlayer. Things were okay at the start, but over the years went from okay to bad to worst. They moved all their support to India and if the support member's English was clear enough you still had to deal with the seemingly common "whisper mode" so many seemed to have adopted.

I'm guessing that because they are on the opposite side of the planet, it's likely they are speaking to you after midnight. It got so bad that I began asking, "Why are you whispering? Don't want to wake someone?" Each time they would just push the mic closer, but still speak softly and be hard to understand.

As if that weren't bad enough, earlier this year (2026), they cut off ALL technical support and put it behind a $200/mo paywall. Not only did their support suck, they wanted you to pay an obscene amount to literally contact them for even small issues like turning of the firewall if it freezes you out.

All that aside, jump to the cPanel server exploit (last weeks' exploit, not today's patch). My server was outdated partly because I didn't want to risk replacing CENTOS with Alma in situ. I take full responsibility for my server getting hacked, but I was fortunately immediately aware of the situation and shut it down before it could do much harm.

So on the hack day (4/30/2026), after locking down the server, I put in a ticket with sales to set up a new server. Today (5/8/2026), they finally responded with:

I thought IBM was a major company. It was, but it appears to be a trash heap now.

On hack day, I of course had my server down, so I needed an immediate replacement. I would up going with Akamai/Linode. I called in and someone in the US picked up the phone and guided my through setting up the server in their ecosystem. We were on the phone for about an hour, they guy was friendly and knowledgeable and helped troubleshoot some issues I had since their Alma provision script was broken (went with Ubuntu instead).

IBM also never sent any emails notifying about the cPanel exploit.

FYI: Today 5/8/2026 at 12:00 EST there is another exploit patch being released, so update your cPanel servers today!

I wonder if these are the same scammers as the Shave Lounge scammers. This is fresh, the domain is a day old if that.

If you got this offer, do not reply. If it's like the previous scam, they will try to get you to log in to "Google" using a phishing SSO modal.

I've been offering web hosting for about 20 years and this has been the worst incident I've ever had happen.

In short, I locked down the server to only access a small CIDR block and have my IP whitelisted, but some damage has been done.

An hour ago, someone gained access and ran a script that added a message to all email folders (not actually emailed) which looks like a ransom message.

Presently, I've got the server locked down. I have access, no one else does. Fortunately, I have backups.

I started with The Planet, which Softlayer acquired, then IBM Cloud. This year IBM Cloud locked down ALL technical support requiring a $200/mo support plan.

Given the hack and server being compromised, it's time to leave IBM behind and get another server elsewhere, but who provides cPanel servers and doesn't suck when it comes to support?

I've looked at DigitalOcean, but I'd like to call sales, but they don't have that option.
